Chapter Sixteen

“Bette, are you here?”

“Kit?” Bette says looking at me before stepping pass me to exit the room.

I follow behind her to my concern.

“Kit? Where’s Angie? Is everything ok?” I hear Bette ask the question I was going to ask.

“No worries baby girl, she’s with Sonny, she cannot sleep without her teddy bear.”

“Oh yes, Hanley.”

“Hey girl.”

“Hi Kit.” I say with a little side smile and cross my arms slowly.

“I’ll go fetch that for you.” Bette says walking pass me again.

“Did I interrupt anything?” Kit asks me.

“No, I just got here actually, I came by to see Angie but I see you have her for tonight.” I smile back at her again.

Bette returns in that second holding Angie’s teddy bear in her hands.

Bette’s POV

“Here.” I hand the teddy bear over to Kit.

”So..”

I hear Kit begin to talk but pause. “What is it?”

“I actually have some news..I’ve been working on this for a while now. Remember when I told you I was going to sell the Planet?”

I nod my head.

“After realizing how upsetting it was for me when I started to sell some things, I’ve decided to keep it.”

“Oh my god Kit, really?” I say with excitement in my voice.

“Yes, and..and, I’m having a little party for its reopening on Monday and I want to see both of your asses there.”

“I’m so happy for you Kit!” I hear Tina say while standing behind my back.

“Kit, this is such great news!” I pull my sister in for a hug.

“So are you both going to attend?”

I quickly glance at Tina to see her expression before I open my mouth.

“Of course Kit.”

I get cut off before I can reply with Tina answering.

“I love the Planet and we all haven’t been hanging with each other like we did at the Planet when it was still open.”

“So happy for you Kit!”

“I’ll see you two tomorrow when I drop Angie off.”

“Thank’s Kit.” I hear Tina say.

“Yeah, thank’s sis.”

“No problem baby girl, goodnight both of you.”

I close the door behind her when she leaves.

“So the Planet huh?” I try to start conversation.
