    Bette, Tina, Alice and Shane enjoy some down time

    Tina jumped up to help Bette, "I’ll get the beer"

    Bette was already headed for the kitchen, "No that’s okay babe, I want to get the food anyway. but you can grab a pad and paper for Lois Lane there from my office."

    "Terri Hatcher!" Shane called out

    "No fair Shane we haven’t started yet." Alice complained. "Besides Erica Durance makes a hotter Lois"

    Tina returned with the items Alice needed and added. "Haven’t started what?"

    "Alice always manages to turn our evenings into a kind of trivia game," Bette said laying hot nachos on the center coffee table. "Dig in!" she said throwing napkins at everyone and then brought in another round of beer.

    Alice was busy scribbling between bites. "Bette? Hatcher or Durance, Best Lois Lane?"

    "Hmm, neither, Margot Kidder." Bette stated.

    "Has to be TV," Alice said.

    "Why?" Shane asked.

    "I just decided!" Alice said laughing. "So? which one turns your crank Porter?"

    "Hatcher," Bette voted.

    "Tina?" Alice asked.

    "I don’t know, Durance I guess," Tina said.

    Alice was biting the end of her pencil, "Okay, let me back track here. We went over Xena and the vote was even 2 for 2, so then…."

    "Wait what about Najara? Shane quipped. "Gotta love her." She said reaching for more nacho’s and tipping her beer to Bette in appreciation of the food.

    "Which one was Najara?" Alice asked.

    Bette looked to Tina who obediently stated straight faced. "Najara appeared in two episodes," then she laughed and said, "but Bette didn’t like her because she was after Gabrielle".

    Bette tossed a nacho at her, "Hey! I liked her alright I just liked her better when Xena finally kicked her butt."

    "Here here, Shane agreed. "Kathryn Morris" played her. She went on to do Cold Case."

    "Yeah, I remember her now" Alice said. "She’s hot." Everyone agreed, "Okay unanimous on that one." Alice recorded the vote.

    "I like Cold Case," Shane said. "You know who I would like to see Morris paired with though? Angie Harmon. She was on that show that only lasted a year because of the writer’s strike, Women’s Murder Club. She played a cool detective, Lindsay Boxer. Now that’s a solid name eh, Boxer. The two could be like Cagney & Lacey all over again, with new fringe benefits." Shane said suggestively. "Detectives Rush and Boxer. Too bad Murder Club got cancelled".

    1. Am I pathetic or what?! I actually watched all of the shows mentioned, and many were favorites of mine. I had forgotten about Iris. BTW, I too have a crush on Sam Carter. Didn’t know that Murder Club got cancelled…I really liked that show. Back to the story. I laughed with tears reading this. I played along with Alice’s game remembering the shows and actors. This is like how I imagined Family Night to be with the gang. I wish that IC would have giving us that…it would have been really cool. Thanks for bringing back memories that I had forgotten!! PPS

    5. CLS…that was so well done! I’m certain being able to blend in all those names and keep the dialogue on track was definitely a chore! I loved it all – particularly the end. You write them so well – and I feel their love growing with each chapter. Please continue! How is Tina adjusting to her new lifestyle? PPS

    7. CLS, That was one hell of a fic! You had me worried along the way, that Bette was going to wimp out losing all dignity. Quite a story you have weaved, bringing in so many character personalities throughout. Gotta love Alice, whether you are writing or reading her, she is always entertaining in fic’s. The closing was beautiful. Thanks so much for bringing your creativity to the site.
