Bette approached her, but only when she was sure no one was paying attention. She had a reputation to keep up. Everyone had their eyes on Alice and Angelica as Alice blew out the candles on the cake, able to forget if only for a moment, her emotional devastation.
"Thank you for being there for Alice," Bette said. "You’ve been a friend to her when she needed someone to lean on."
Helena was taken aback at Bette’s gratitude.
"She’s going through a rough time," Helena replied. "And I’m able to give her support right now. I know you and Tina have other things on your mind." She nodded over to Tina just as Alice passed the baby back to her.
"Yeah. We do."
Bette knew Helena was referring to Angelica. But the list of things they needed to work through included so much more than the beautiful little creature that had entered their lives.
"We’re in a small circle of friends Bette. As uncomfortable as that has the potential to be, if we can be civil to each other, I think it would make it easier on Tina and Alice."
"Civil is all I’m capable of right now Helena. And you can be sure I’m only doing it for Tina and Alice."
"Of course," Helena replied. She wasn’t really aware of anything she had done to incur Bette’s wrath, although Bette seemed convinced she was behind her being fired from the CAC.
"The direction of the Peabody Foundation was changing; it really had nothing to do with your application," Helena began an explanation for the denial of Bette’s request for funding. God she couldn’t believe that was over a year ago already.
"Helena, please," Bette stopped her from continuing. "If we have any hope of moving forward, it’s best you don’t engage in a litany of reasons I have to be annoyed with your presence in my life."
Helena wanted to protest, but decided silence was her only ally.
Tina started making her way back into the kitchen.
"I’ll take her for a while, Tee," Bette suggested as she reached for the baby.
"I’m good," Tina replied, shifting Angelica to her opposite hip. "I just wanted to make sure you two are okay."

I’m not going to lie, I’ve always wanted Helena and Bette to be together. I initially thought Helena was to be introduced as Bette’s hate-love interest, and I was really looking forward to that playing out over time. Hey, it could still happen, and I hope if, and when it does(because these two are just too combustible, and passionate to not have it happen), it happens just like this!Screw you Tina, Bette’s got other options too!

A Helena & Bette pairing is a hellahot thing in my book. I always pictured it happening as a one time thing because where there is all that fire there is bound to be some heat and you sure found it!

as two controlling alphas, i don’t think Bette and Helena will match, but at this point i think Bette really needs some loving and since Tina is chasing some dicks, Bette can have some fun…it was hot and funny for some reason…i still beleive in B&T but fun is great…i hope tina will wake up one day and realize what she has

Holy moly!!! That was sizzling!! In fact, it was so hot, that I am disappointed that it is a one time thing. I think it would be interesting to explore what would happen to Bette’s love for Tina, when someone so unexpectently comes into your life, and brings out all these new emotions in you. I think that would be an excellent storyline, hint, hint!!! Thanks for this wonderful glimpse!
i agree- i like the helena that we are seeing this season and with the way that you set up this story (with TK sleeping with a man), i say go for it Bette! you deserve to be gettin somethin- especially since your wife is!!

I laughed out loud with the don’t tell me your timid line Helena gave Bette…And although I think this works in fanfic cause you can really play with the characters more and you don’t have to contend with actors. I don’t think this will ever work in the show RS is too sex with a woman timid and JB really goes for her sex scenes. It would just be weird and uncomfortable. But this was hot so I say continue at least a few more chappies to see how the relationship develops.

It’s a sad state of affairs when so many TiBetter’s hearts are assauged and even enjoy something HelBette. Before S3 this would have been impossible (not that I’ve seen it yet – just can’t avoid all spoilers). But this is so well written who could mind so much? :)

To the grave…Unless Tina decides to make her hetro trip permanent. Then, HelleBette should shine her a** on as they pass her by in the Maybach. Bette Porter is the kind of woman who deserves ATTENTION lavished on her. I never got Helena being with Tina in the first place, unless it was just to spite Bette.

I’m so glad somebody finally wrote a fan fic on these two characters. I actually like them together. And who says two alphas can’t get along? This is fan fiction after all, right? You make them get along. lol! We need to get different scenarios on this site. And this fic certaily accomplished that. I agree–I don’t think this would work out as well on screen, due to the reasons given,(RS’s love scenes as opposed to JB’s). Kudos to you JKS for writing this fic. I think you should continue this fic and have B & H end-up together in the end, Tina certainly deserves it. Excellent!

Ok I’m back to try to convince you again! Who says these two wouldn’t work on the screen. Yes, Helena is more gentle…or restrained in her love making…but maybe she is that way because she is afraid to really let all her passion out…to really let loose. Maybe she is afraid of scaring her lover if she totally lets go. So, what would happen if she is finally with someone who she knows can take all of her passion, and who can give as good as she gets? And, that would be our Bette of course. I think it would be a fasinating story to write about their similarities, and how they can connect through them, rather than how that would divide them. Plus, I think a scene where Tina sees them from across a room, like say a restaurant would be fun to read about her reactions!! Especially if Tina is there with her boy toy! Can you tell this storyline excites me?! Go for it!!!

I loved this. I do think there is definite chemistry between Bette and Helena and since we won’t see it played out on the show, please help us out here. I can only imagine where you might take the two of them…
Hello. I just expressed my opinion. I don’t think Helena is restrained at all, actually she is quite passionate. I just happen to think this storyline works better in this fic. I’m not criticizing the Helena character. I liked her from the very beginning. Anyway, let’s just say we can agree to disagree, ok? lol! However, I definitely agree that they should be written as a couple as I said before. And I really like the idea of Tina seeing them together and reading about her reaction. Yes this storyline excites me a lot too. JKS by popular demand you must keep going with this fan fic.

Smmmookin’ Great writing! Right amount of tension and totally hot since we know both people. Many people on the MBs have asked for this pairing. IMO, while both women are drop dead gorgeous, Bette’s heat is more visceral than Helena’s and therefore more sensual and primal, raw.
I’m back, and I agree with Seahurst too–I really want to see this story expanded. You write amazing sex scenes, but you can also tell a great story. Okay, just one chapter where Tina finds out would make me happy!

JKS, Please, Please, PLEASE continue this story. You have set up a really dramatic and divergent storyline here. One that demands to be followed up. I concur that I could actually see this happening given Helena move to becoming a more rounded, caring person. And we all know that Bette aspires to being desired. I believe that this coupling would offer fabulous avenues to traverse as each gal tries to be the dominant one. This meeting of Alphas could develop into a tantalizing tale. I have experienced it already as the courtship began and the removal of clothing became a Cat and Mouse game as both Bette and Helena vied for the upper hand. Will this be a moment of madness or the start of something spectacular? Either way I will be watching and waiting for your next installment. I can’t wait to see the next chapter of snippets but would happily forego it for the next one of Wanted. Thank you for this breath of fresh air. Your Loyal Fan.
hey swimmie, how goes it? an interesting experiment to be sure, but i think these women hate each other way too much to form any kind of long term relationship. i feel, realistically, that if they ever had a disagreement, they would just freeze each other out. but hey, if anyone can make it work, you can! hope all is well with family and friends.
Wow…I’m really surprised that I liked this as much as I did. Helena has definitely grown on me, just in these last two episodes. And I think we’re all hating Tina a little bit at the moment, so it’s nice to see Bette getting attention, even if it’s from someone else.
Ok. . .this PAINS me to say it because I am an avid B/T fan. . .BUT if Tina was having an affair with a man, then Bette TOTALLY deserved this. And, although I REALLY HATED Hell-on-wheels last season, I think she’s turning into a great character this season. . .so KUDOS TO YOU! Post again soon!
