    Completely Incomplete – (Chapter: 6)

Sunday, I was completely reclusive, save for the three times I had to take Benny out to go to the bathroom. I was emotionally exhausted, and spent most of the day taking comfort in Carrie Bradshaw’s love problems. I felt like I could relate. Well, not really. I didn’t have love problems; I just had… problems. Many, many problems. I also made a point of turning off my cell phone the minute I got back from the bar. I was terrified that Ashley was going to call me. Absolutely terrified. Damn Aiden and his damn girlfriend. Everything was so much easier before he came back into my life. I was even thinking of giving the case to one of the other lawyers, but my pride for my work was way too strong for that.

On a whim, I pulled out the album again. I glanced at the first page for all of 3 seconds before I slammed it shut and put it away. What on earth was I thinking?

Monday felt like it started earlier than it should have. I was not looking forward to work today. No, let me rephrase that. I was not looking forward to seeing Aiden at work today. I was sure there would be questions, and I didn’t know how I would begin answering them. And he wasn’t expected in until around 4pm, so I had the whole day to freak out. Which I did. Completely and thoroughly.

At 4:02, he sauntered in, all smiles, as though nothing had happened. Surprisingly, we went about business as normal. But of course, once I told him we were finished for the day, he started to bring things up.

“So… Saturday was pretty interesting,” he said.

    “That’s one word for it.”

“Michelle liked you. She said you were, and I quote, ‘spunky.’” I had to laugh a little at that one.

    “She’s… nice.”

“Do you mean that? Or are you just saying it to be polite?” he asked.

    “I mean it,” I told him. “She’s just… a very forward person.”

“I know what you mean there,” he chuckled. “Well, I guess I’ll see you later. Maybe we could meet up again before she leaves.”

“Yeah, maybe.” No way in hell…

“Bye, Spence.” He reached for the doorknob, but something in me wouldn’t let him leave just yet.

    1. Is spencer stuck on stupid? It was ashley calling and she needed to pick up the phone because she knows she wants to. lol Anyways, great story. you should DEFFINATLEY PMS! like..soon. PLease? lol for the biggest fan of this ff?

    2. Im loving this story. PMS she has to pick up the phone! I thought I would let you know that there is not a chance in hell that anything would be closed in Greenwich Village after she got out of work unless it was like 3AM and even then it is questionable. There is ALWAYS something open. Especially bodegas and food places. One of the best places to live if you ever can. I lived next to NYU for a bit…aw now Im missing it. Maybe I should keep my comments to myself.

    3. *swooshes in and streatches arms* this was no match for the (wo)man of steal. Yes i dare say i breezed through. Stopping occasionally to laugh my eyes out at your humor. (be more careful about that I near set a school on fire…..on second thought, maybe not, cause did accidently catch a glimpse of the cute RA’s unmentionables) Now. if you need me, Superman, to fly in and teach Spencer how to answer the phone, I’d have no issues with that. But I’m content to run right along side you until she learns how to do it for herself. But you do have a friend in dun dun dun SUPERMAN. *swishes cap and gives a million dollar smile*

    9. BOOOOO SPENCER!!!!!!!! It’s inevitable, you’re going to talk to her. And…we ALL know that you want to. So, for the sake of me, a die-hard fan, I think that Spencer needs to put her damn pride away and get over it!! She obviously remembers the good times, hence the photo album. She just needs to focus on that! Plus…who could really turn down Ashley Davies?? Come on people, be honest.
