The next day, I spent most of the morning and afternoon lounging around in my sweatpants, dividing my attention between the newspaper, paperwork, and Sex and the City reruns; that show had taken on a whole new meaning once I’d actually moved to New York City. I would have preferred to spend my night the way I’d spent the rest of the day, but Aiden called, telling me to meet him and his girlfriend at a bar at 9. I thought about backing out, but then decided I wanted to see what Aiden’s girlfriend was like… partly because half the girls Aiden dated turned out to be gay. Can’t forget that. I decided to dress up tonight, just in case.
I got to the bar at 9:05 and immediately spotted Aiden sitting at a table, nursing a drink. He was alone, which I thought was odd.
“Hey Aiden.”
“Spence!” he greeted me.
“Where’s Michelle?” I asked.
“Oh, she just had to take a call outside. She’ll be right back. Sit down, order a drink.” I sat and waited for our server to come over. A few moments later, a blonde walked over to the table. Aiden smiled at her and she took a seat right next to him.
“Spence, this is Michelle. Michelle, Spencer,” he introduced us. I shook her hand.
“Nice to meet you,” I said.
“You too! I’ve heard so much about you!”
“Nothing bad, I hope.”
“Of course not,” she replied, smiling a little bit too sweetly for me. When the waiter came over, I ordered a strong drink, preparing myself for a rough night. The three of us talked for a little while, and I couldn’t help but notice that Michelle was staring at me. And not the way that I wanted her to be staring at me. It was kind of as though she didn’t understand something, and was trying to figure it out… about me, I guess. It was a little unnerving. At one point, Aiden excused himself to go to the bathroom. I cursed him under my breath for leaving me alone with her.
“So, you’re the famous Spencer I keep hearing about,” she said. What? It was kind of weird to think that Aiden was talking about me that much to her. I hope she didn’t think he was messing around behind her back…

And so the source of Spencer’s animosity is revealed. Although I can understand Spencer still being hurt/angry due to Ashley’s bombshell breakup, let me say this: may the force be with you Ashley because Spencer has been chugging the Ashley Haterade like nobody’s business. Onwards and upwards with your fantastic story, Kozmic.
I’m commenting on this story way past it’s due date but I felt like I had to make up for my lurker days. This posts right here is my favorite of yours. IDK why, it just is. It’s awesome. Please keep posting. Soon!

Yes! Superman has successfully pulled in to the fifth leg of the race. an astoundingly long push through this amazing 4 page post. A lot of ups and a lot of downs. the terrian on this leg was trying. But the (wo)man of steel never gives up. Excellent chapter. I loved it. I give you kudos for your splashes of humour. (if that all just seemed random to you its cuase i just read all five and commented as i went. and i was being a dork as i went along) But seriously. its all beautifully written. i mean come on, i even know how ole Benny is feeling. (man, get that dog laid) Press on my friend. superman’s ready to run some more

Excellent update Kozmic. I’m loving this story. Although I do have to disagree with Spencer…there are plenty of other things to do in Nashville besides get drunk and act stupid. :) Please post more soon.
