    Memories – (Chapter: Photograph)

He reminds me that there are three cars at the house, just in case I had not noticed and agrees to come pick me up.

I change back in to the clothes I wore last night and kill time looking around her room.  I smile at the pictures she had wallpapering her door.  Most were of her, but one did catch my eye.  It was a picture of us after we had just broken a kiss and we were looking into each others eyes.

Aiden, Ashley and I have taken a trip to San Diego for Christmas break.  It’s their senior year and we don’t know how many more opportunities we will all have to do this.  We are waking down the Gaslamp Quarter window shopping.  Ashley and I hold hands as we walk and Aiden’s attention is bouncing around like a kid in a candy shop.

“It’s our last night here guys, what do you want to do tonight?”  Aiden was able to center his focus for more than five seconds.

“I wish we were 21!  Because this place is exactly where we would be.  There has to be like fifty bars on this street alone.”  I could not wait to walk into a bar and legally be able to order a drink.  I emphasize legally, because Ashley has had a fake ID for a while now, so it’s not like I don’t have access to alcohol.  It’s principle.

“Well Spencer, you know Aiden and I already have turned 21 according to our licenses, it’s just you we are waiting on.”

                “You suck!”

“You know, you don’t have to wait either.”  Aiden said with a mischievous grin.

“Spencer?  Little miss innocent?  A fake ID?  Never gonna happen.”  I just think Ashley is trying to provoke me.  I contemplate the thought.

“Sometimes you have to lie to live.”

                “What are you saying?”

“I’m saying lets do it!”  I continued walking a good ten paces before I became aware that I was alone.  I turned to find Aiden and Ashley, mouths to the ground.  “What?”

“What are we waiting for?  Let’s go!”  Aiden could barely contain himself.
