    What have you done?

    259,200 seconds. 4,320 minutes. 72 hours. 3 days. Time had been moving agonizingly slow for everyone. Eternity and infinity had imposed itself on the psyche of four people in particular though. Dano and Aiden were carrying on to the beat of a drum too slow to keep up with the rigors of the everyday trials and tribulations in Los Angeles. Ashley and Spencer weren’t moving at all.

    She had withdrawn into herself. Nothing seemed worth noting or acknowledging except for her girlfriend’s touch and voice. Her bedroom not only had the title of sanctuary, now it was a prison she had relegated herself too. Ashley skipped school and stayed with her, holding her as she screamed and cried or lay still in a catatonic state. She knew it scared the brunette as much as it did her but she didn’t her and Spencer was too grateful for words. She didn’t know what she would do to herself if someone wasn’t there with her.

    The grimy, dirty, disgusting feeling that she felt wouldn’t go away. The teeth marks and scratches had disappeared by then but their existence was burned into her memory. She could’ve sworn she still saw them on her skin sometimes. In the shower she would scrub so hard that the once white flesh would turn red, but it didn’t get rid of the defiled state that permeated underneath her skin.

    The only time Spencer felt remotely normal was when she was with Ashley. Never leaving her side and always knowing when to say the right thing or say nothing at all, the brunette had been the hand that kept her from falling off of the edge into insanity. Taking her random lash outs and crying spells with a Zen like attitude, she was everything the blond needed. But these extreme emotions, the feelings of a victim, they just wouldn’t fucking stop. The worst part of it all was that she knew that he was still out there. Still praying on girls, perhaps looking for her.

    That’s what plagued her nightmares as of late. An amorphous blob thrusting in and out of her crudely as she screamed and cried for help in an empty parking-lot in the dead of night. No one came to her rescue then. She was all alone but then she’d wake up sobbing in Ashley’s arms and things would be a little bit better, but not completely. She needed to stop the pain, it needed to stop.
