    Why Can’t I? – (Chapter: Chapter Twelve)

“So you think I’ll make it?” Spencer asked her girlfriend as they sat at a table in the quad.

Ashley was lying down on the table and tipped her sunglasses down on her nose as she stared at Spencer with an annoyed expression. “Spencer if you ask me that one more time, I might just say no!” She shoved her glasses back on her eyes and moodily crossed her arms over her stomach.

“Uhm…okay…” Spencer said a little hurt by Ashley’s tone. Ashley sighed knowing she was being a bitch. She sat up on the table and put her legs on either side of the blonde, forcing her to face her.

“Look I’m sorry okay? I’m just kind of tired…so I’m really cranky…” Ashley said wrapping her arms around the blondes neck. “Forgive me?”

“Maybe.” The blonde said playfully. “You forgot bitchy though.”

“Very true, but I also forgot sexy, so we’ll call it even.” Ashley said as she rested their foreheads together smiling.

“Don’t you wish…?” Spencer replied as their lips finally met.

RING! The bell went off signaling the start of their first class.

“Oh shit…science…oh shit…debate. Oh god? Do you think I’ll make it?” Spencer said suddenly panicking as she stood up from the table franticly gathering all her things while Ashley just flicked her sunglasses back on and threw her bag over her shoulder. She grabbed Spencer’s face and looked her directly in the eyes (through her sunglasses of course as any real badass would do).

“No.” She said simply and gave her one finally peck on the lips as she sauntered of to P.E. Spencer smiled and rushed off to science. She took a seat near the back, something she had accustomed to doing hanging around Ashley all the time, just as the professor starting speaking.

“Well as you all know, today is the big debate!” Mr. Witchenstrom said happily. Most of the class mocked happiness while Spencer tried her best not to hurl. “As you all know, as our best debater, Summer here will be attending the national debate in Arizona.” A small applause broke out throughout the room. “Yes, yes, very good. But there is still one more spot left! I’m going to have a few of you go against Summer to see who my final pick will be. Let’s see…how about…Spencer?”
