    I’m gonna knock your socks off. You’ll see, oh yeah…

    Glen glared icily at his business partner. Ashley turned closing the office’s door quietly behind her. “How is he?”

     

    “How the fuck do you think he is, Ash? He doesn’t see you for almost two years and you show up asking him for his sperm?” Ashley’s eyes darkened as she walked closer to Glen’s desk. “Don’t…”

     

    “Don’t what? Don’t tell you that you treat him like shit…that he can’t even bear to look at you…”

     

    “Fuck you! At least I had the decency to stop sleeping with him when I got married.”

     

    Shaken, Glen pushed his hand into his hair, turning his back to the brunette. He cleared his throat softly. “It’s complicated…”

     

    “It always is…” Sitting perched on the lip of his desk, Ashley gently placed her hand on his arm, pulling him down beside her. “I still love him…God, I tried…so hard…” Glen put his arm around her, moving closer as she struggled to keep her composure. “It hurts so much when we see each other…it’s like something’s tearing at me…I look in his eyes…it hurts so bad…I can’t breathe. I wanted it to stop…I wanted to look at him again without cringing…” Ashley stood, kissing Glen’s check, “Tell him…I’m sorry.” His arms reached around her waist, pulling her to him. Glen’s tears were hot against her neck. Holding him, she gently rubbed his back as he cried.

     

    “What are you going to do?”

     

    Glen raised his head from her shoulder and stared into her eyes. “I don’t know…”

    “Why are you whispering?” Ashley smiled nodding over her shoulder. “Spence is still asleep…so keep your voice down, ok?” Chelsea sighed relieved. “Thank God! I love you babe, but I wasn’t sure if I could leave Lei here with you by yourself!” Huffing dramatically, Ashley reached for her niece, gently cradling the still sleeping infant into her arms. The little girl yawned, her small, toothless mouth opening wide before her startlingly dark eyes blinked open. Kissing the baby’s forehead, Ashley grinned up at Chelsea. “She’s so beautiful.” Both women watched as Lei smacked her lips blowing small bubbles then closed her eyes again. Clay finished placing the baby’s bags on the sofa, slapping his hands together quietly. “Well, I think that’s it. Ash, we really can’t thank you guys enough.” Chelsea grinned, putting her arm around her husband’s waist, kissing his cheek. “I can’t wait. This is our first weekend away since she was born…” She moaned when Clay suddenly cut her off with a kiss.

    1. Past Story Explanation:I’m commenting to hopefully, help those who still do not understand what is going on. In this section we see that Spencer is beginning to get over her depression, but Ashley is scared and very worried about her wife. She decides to take matters into her own hands and tells Clay and Chelsea (without informing Spencer) that they will watch Lei while they go out of town for the weekend. During this time with the baby, Spencer realizes that she still wants to try to have childen…even if she can’t do it exactly the way she wants. In previous chapters, Ashley mentions that she has been undergoing fertility treatments. Basically, she is being given medicine to increase production of her eggs. In one of the past scenes in this section we see that they were able to retrieve several from her body. Spencer is unable to produce eggs on her own, so she has one of Ashley’s implanted in her and well…you get the rest. Hopefully, that clears things up. I started to add the scene where Spencer was implanted, but I couldn’t quite get it right in my head…I guess in retrospect, that might have made things much easier to understand….sorry.Current Story Explanation:Ashley was forcibly removed from the operating room where Spencer is still being worked with. She is not dead. They just needed Ashley to leave so that they could concentrate on her wife. Keep in mind that in the current day story only a few minutes have passed. Ashley and Sara have just left Spencer and are walking back towards the waiting room.

    3. Well I am not sure if you want to hear my thoughts on this but I can’t help but tell you. You truly are an amazing artist and I want to thank you for sharing your talents. I loved the fact that Spence is showing such courage and love to have a child, that is special in it’s own right. I love the fact that Ashley was able to take her out of her depression by showing her that she is there for her and she is so willing to be a mom right beside her. T you are amazing and my feeling for you will never change. Thank you for sharing with all of us your love for writing. You will always be incrediable to me! Thank you!

    21. I totally understand what’s going on. I love it when you update. This is heartbreaking. I’m too sad for words after reading this.
