I Write Sins Not Tragedies – (Chapter: Prom much?)

Oh geez…prom…this is certainly going to be one fun filled night. I can’t believe it’s here already. It’s weird thinking that not even two weeks ago, I was more than thrilled to be going to prom. Now I’m dreading going. Tonight is when the truth comes out, and hurting someone that I care about definitely does not appeal to me. Then again, who does it appeal to? I’m not even going to get into that right now.

Anyways, our house is going crazy…three teens all getting ready for prom. You’d think it wouldn’t be so bad, I mean, I am the only girl in this house. But you may be forgetting that I live with Glen. Seriously, he spends so much time in the bathroom getting ready, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was gay. He’s at least metro. Finally! He’s out of the bathroom, and I can finish getting ready. I’ve decided to keep things simple this year, so I do my own hair and makeup. It’s not like it’s senior ball. I curl my hair and then apply my own makeup. Chelsea helps me with my eye shadow. She looks gorgeous. I’m glad I at least have one friend that doesn’t despise me. With only twenty minutes left until Kyla gets here, I put on my dress. It’s pearl white with crystal beading on it. It’s a v-neck spaghetti strap, but doesn’t show too much, and it falls to my feet. Prom is a time to look classy and beautiful. Homecoming dances are the ones where you skank things up a bit…you know, short dresses and what not. But not tonight. Tonight it’s about being beautiful.

After nervously waiting around, Kyla finally arrives. It’s such a relief because my mom has been taking pictures of us for the last ten minutes. I’m surprised I can see. I’m surprised she’s still holding the camera too. She’s crying so much, I figure she would’ve dropped it by now! Clay and Chelsea and Glen and Brooke (his new girlfriend) are all trying to figure out how to put on the boutonnières. Thank God we only have to exchange corsages! I sigh as I realize that with my crying mother, my father who’s getting my corsage for me, and my brothers and their dates attempting to figure the whole flower thing out, it’s up to me to answer the door. Oh wow…she looks…I don’t even know what to say! She’s wearing a light pink strapless dress, her hair is up, and she is holding my corsage.

    3. Yes, please continue. Tell the story that you want to tell. We are pleased to read it. But if you want to end it, I guess we’ll have to deal with it (we’ll be really sad though), but I know I’d look forward to your next one. That was a great update.
