After Aiden left, Spencer immediately called Ashley.

“Hello Ashley.”

“Well hello my sweet, what a pleasant surprise.  You’re not calling to cancel tonight are you?”

“No I’m calling to tell you Aiden’s doesn’t want to merge your lab and ours for the research you want to do.”

“I see did he give a reason?”

“He said he didn’t feel comfortable with you.”

I laughed when Spencer said that.  “You’re kidding, your friend is a poor businessman.  I deal with a lot of people who make me uncomfortable, some I don’t even like but I deal with them anyway.   Business is business, but it’s okay Spencer I have several other labs lined up.  I just wanted to deal with your lab because yours was far more advanced in their research than the other labs I had researched.  Thank you for letting me know.” 

“You know Ashley I can overrule that decision.  If you want to merge the labs then I’ll agree to it.”

“Well I really would like to use your laboratory and researchers but you know Aiden is not going to like it.”

“Fuck Aiden, this is what I want to do.  I’ve let Aiden control the lab since my father’s death, eventhough I knew some of his decisions were wrong.  I believe in what you’re trying to do Ashley.  This decision will not be left up to Aiden.”

“Alright Spencer we’ll talk about it tonight.”

“Great see you at ten.”

“Yes,until tonight my sweet.”

Ashley’s POV

So Aiden doesn’t feel comfortable doing business with me.  I wonder if that’s his true reason.  I don’t think he’s going to be too happy about Spencer’s decision to merge the labs against his wishes.  But who fucking cares, Aiden won’t live long enough to see the merge go through anyway.  Once Spencer’s transformation is complete Aiden will be dealt with. He is too much of a threat to be left unharmed.  Being the great great grandson of Gunther Dennison makes his demise unavoidable.

I can’t have Aiden going to his great great grandfather and eventually learning how to destroy vampires, possibly taking over where his great great grandfather left off.  When he was younger Gunther Dennison almost alienated the whole race of vampires.  He was relentless in his search for werewolves and night creatures. I should know he almost killed me but Madison had intervened and we both escaped.  We should have killed him when we had the chance.  Now he’s alive and living in a nursing home where Aiden can visit him at any time.
