Spencer rolled over for the third time in as many minutes and punched the pillow. She’d pretty much fled from Ashley. Like she was fleeing from everything else in her life? No, that wasn’t fair. Leaving Gray had been the right thing to do. She wasn’t running from that, she was trying to get her life in order. To actually have a life she felt like living. Because she knew that she owed it to herself and to Elly to stop living for other people. They’d both be happier in the end. The only problem was, she knew some things she had to do and some things she couldn’t. And the look on Ashley’s face when the truth had emerged hadn’t exactly brightened Spencer’s day. She’d been completely understanding, but then, when you were standing in someone’s spare room with a pair of fluffy pyjamas in your hands and a rejection speech still hanging in the air, what were you supposed to do? Run screaming from the room? Throw your pyjamas up in disgust and destroy the lampshade? What could you do? Spencer knew that it didn’t make it any less painful. She sighed and rolled over again. She wasn’t going to get any sleep tonight.
It was a good thing that she was awake because it meant she heard Ashley attempting to sneak out sometime around seven. Wrapping herself in her dressing gown she moved into the living room. The brunette was on the couch, silently slipping on her shoes. She jumped when Spencer spoke,
“Can we talk?”
The musician turned and serious brown eyes regarded Spencer evenly. “I’m not sure I’m up to it Spence.”
“Please.”
Sighing, Ashley stopped putting on her shoes and turned to face away, clasping her hands. It took Spencer a moment to realize that the brunette was waiting to be joined on the couch. Taking a seat beside her, Spencer mirrored her companion’s position, leaning forward with her elbows on her knees, hands clasped together.
“What did you want to say?” From the tone in Ashley’s voice, Spencer could tell that she was strained. Probably a mixture of hurt and anger but either way, strained.
“Ash…” Spencer could hear the pleading in her own voice. It wasn’t deliberate but she couldn’t erase it either. “I’m sorry.”

Wow, I was so happy to hear that Ash isn’t going anywhere and that she is respecting Ashley’s need to be there for herself and her daughter first.

okay, I’ve stopped pouting and frowning now… I no longer resemble a cute puppy. Instead I have a hopeful smile that all will be okay… wish I had the same hope for the show itself, but never mind, that’s a whole different rant. Still loving it Clom, and stil think you should feel exceptionally guilty that you’re abandoning us! And for New South Wales?! The proper Wales that shares a border with Engalnd is bad enough, but NEW SOUTH Wales?! why?! why go somewhere names after such a place?! ;-)

My Gray is less obstinant, but we are seperating…and your last post with Spencer pushing Ashley away…that’s exactly what I have done. That went much better than I thought it would. I’m so Glad Ashley is sticking around for Spencer. It was sweet that she admitted to leaving Liv because of her feeling’s for Spencer. I hope Elly doesn’t act like a brat because her dad was a jerk. And Ashley likes her. pms

I really love how you’ve navigated your way through this storyline. I mean, it’s really different, Spence with a daughter and being married and everything. But you’ve really made it work. And what can I say? You’re such a great writer! You make us want to read more and more and more. I am always eagerly awaiting your posts, and yes, I do get a tad bummed when you I don’t see an update from you. And, not to quote McD’s or anything, but I’m loving it!
