“Mom, I am not gaining the freshman 15!” Spencer looked up from her homework as her very exasperated girlfriend walked into their room. “Do you want me to be anorexic?” she asked with sarcasm. “MOM! YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO THINK ABOUT IT!” she yelled after a few seconds of silence. She huffed as she flipped the cover of her phone down and then walked over to the bed and sat down looking less than pleased. Spencer went to sit behind her and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. Ashley closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of Spencer’s gentle yet comforting hold.

            “At least she knows you’re in college,” the blonde pointed out. Ashley let out a snort-laugh at the comment. “So,” Spencer began after a minute of silence, “I don’t know if this is a good time, or a bad time to bring this up, but my mom wants to have you over for dinner this weekend.”

            “Wait, what?”

            “Remember how Clay mentioned the possibility of dinner in the future?” Ashley nodded. “Well, my mom called me earlier today and asked…well, more like told me that I should bring you.”

            “Me? Why me?”

            “Well, Clay is bringing his girlfriend, Chelsea, Glen is bringing his girlfriend, Tammy, and since I have no boyfriend according to my parents, my mom suggested either you, as my roommate, or a sister.”

            “So, your parents, whom have no idea we’re dating, are unintentionally inviting your girlfriend over for what’s pretty basically a ‘couple’s dinner’ but I’m going as your roommate and not your girlfriend?”

            “Um, pretty much.”

            “Oh, this is going to be interesting.”

            “So you’ll come to dinner?” Spencer asked sounding somewhat surprised.        

            “Yeah, of course I will! Did you expect me to miss out on the chance to see the house where my girlfriend grew up in? I want to see baby pictures!”

            “There is no way I’m letting you see those!” the blonde protested with a pout, which earned her a grin and a kiss.
