She’s into me, Right? – (Chapter: Dinner Reservations? We Don’t Really Care.)

Spencer quickly applied the last of her eyeliner, grabbed her purse and headed out the door. She was picking Ashley up at her place and then together they would go to dinner somewhere where Ashley had already made reservations. Excitement was foremost on Spencer’s mind although not far behind was arousal. That kiss the other day had done nothing to calm the feelings in her. If anything it had intensified them to a point where instant gratification would be the only thing that would soothe the ache. Just thinking Ashley’s name would cause multiple sensations to swirl in Spencer’s head, which wasn’t really improving her already poor driving skills.

She sped faster and faster, well at least as fast as any New York traffic would allow, towards Ashley’s and hopefully towards the fulfillment she really needed. Spencer’s logic was that the faster the date got over the sooner she could figure Ashley out. As if Ashley was something definable. Spencer was beginning to think that she was the ultimate question with no pin point of characterization. She was unique unto herself but Spencer just wasn’t sure if she was ok with that answer. The blonde was used to classifying people into their categories and filing it away for later reference. She wasn’t the type who liked surprises but that seemed to be what she was after. Ashley was a mystery that often led Spencer to exceptional revelations. She never reacted how like this around anyone else, and she never chased after them with a passion that rivaled all others. Even Aiden didn’t know exactly how to explain Ashley.

Minutes after Spencer tried to define Ashley, she pulled up to the housing of the person in question. She gave the car to the valet not caring to work at trying to find a parking spot. Spencer gave an anxious wave to the doorman who just nodded and smiled pleasantly at her. He recognized her from the other day when she had dropped Ashley off.

To the side of the elevators was a reception desk, much like a hotel’s. Spencer asked for Ashley’s room.

“Is Ms. Davies expecting you?” questioned the receptionist.

“Yup.” Spencer replied in high spirits.

In a somewhat conversational tone, Spencer chatted up the receptionist while she looked through her papers for Spencer’s name.
