Nowheresville – (Chapter: First Day Culture Shock: Chapter 1)

Ok, so I can’t believe we actually moved here. I didn’t think a place this backwards could exist. Spartanburg is nothing compared to Philly. There’s so much green. I don’t get how peole can understand each other with those drawls. It’s appaling how they butcher words here. "Ashley go to sleep!!! You’re first day of 7th grade is tomorrow and you don’t wanna be tired!!" "OK!!!!!!!!!!" Grandmas can be so annoying! I just hope the kids are nice.

    Next Day

"Ashley, Ashley. GET UP!!!!!!!!!!" i heard Mimi (that’s what i call my grandma) yell. I opened my eyes and imediately wished i hadn’t. "WHAT!!!" I screamed iritated because the lights were on. "You have to get ready. Did you get your clothes out like i told you to?" Mimi said. "Yes" i lied "What time is it?" i mumbled. "Seven" Mimi said as casualy as if she’d said we were having chicken for lunch. "Seven!!! Ohmigod!! Who gets up at seven?" I yelled. "You do now. Public school starts at eight and you’re taking the bus." Mim scolded. I went to Charter school when i lived in philly. "Why? There are proven studies that say teenagers brains don’t work well in the morning." I grumbled as i took off my t-shirt. Then my little sister Kyla came in looking all bright eyed in her pink scort set. "Hi!!! Ashley!" she exclaimed. "Go away!! and turn off my light!" i yelled mad that she was happy. "Mom Ashley’s yelling at me!" Kyla tattled. "Be nice to your sister Ashley! You know how she gets in the morning, Kyla, why did you even go in there?" My mom said the last part barely audible to my grogy senses. I slamed my door and stripped off my boy shorts. I looked around my room for some clothes. I settled for a black no boundaries tank and some light blue jeans i had left my handcuffs on. I grabbed my backpack, my cell phone, inhaler and a scrunchie and went down stairs.

Mimi said that my bus stop was at the end of our road. So i walked all the way down the hill we lived on to wait for the bus. There were some kids there but they just glanced at me. The bus pulled up and eveyone piled in. It took half an hour to get to school and the bus got like 5 or more kids a stop. When we finnaly got there the sun was coming up.

I went to the guidance office to ask where i was supposed to go. The counselor pointed down a hall and told me it was the last one on the right. When i opened the door the teacher looked at me and said "You must be Ashley." in a voice way to chipper for eight AM. I looked around the room as she told me where to sit. My eyes fell on this blonde girl who was two seeats behind and one over from where i was supposed to sit. This strange warmth took over my body as i took my seat.

Please comment i wanna know if i should keep this going.
