Rester Avec Moi – (Chapter: 1)

    September: Beginning of Junior Year

MEET UCLA JUNIOR, SPENCER CARLIN, A BEAUTIFUL, WITTY JOURNALIST AND ENGLISH MAJOR CURRENTLY RESIDING IN HER UNDERSIZED DORM ROOM.

“Okay tell me if this sounds good as a headline: Dorm rooms, need they be so small?” Spencer spun in her chair waiting for a response. “Tyler? Tyler!”

    “Huh, what?”

MEET TYLER WILLIAMS A JUNIOR, ALSO KNOWN AS SPENCER’S BEST FRIEND / EX-BOYFRIEND.

    “Does it sound good?”

    “Huh?”

“Focus idiot! You’re supposed to be helping me with my newspaper.”

“Do I look like an English major? No, I don’t think so, I’m a business major, not some sort of dictionary geek.”

“Fuck off.” Spencer answered angrily, revealing her middle finger.

    “Go do your work!”

MEET ASHLEY DAVIES PRESIDENT OF SORORITY, APLHA ZETA ALPHA

“All right ladies, we need to start decorating for the party tonight. Remember if you get tired, rest you itty bitty head for a bit and then get back to work. Okay, girls, let’s get this party started!” The sorority girls cheered before they went off to decorate the sorority house while Ashley went back to her room.

She dropped onto her Hello Kitty covered bed and let out an exhausted sigh. She turned over on her side and glanced at the dusty picture frame on her side table.

There it was… her ex, Audrey, just looking at her with her dark, daring eyes. Ashley gripped onto the side of the frame and pulled it towards her chest. A small tear escaped her eye as she clearly remembered what had happened.

“Aud, please, you can’t do this to me. I don’t know how I can live without you.”

“Ashley, this is hard enough for me already. I just don’t want us to challenge our relationship when I go to NYU.”

“What is there to challenge? Our relationship is strong, we can survive.”

“No Ashley, we really can’t. Please just let me go, I can’t handle seeing you cry again.”

It was already too late, Ashley’s eyes were watering and it was only a moment of time before they escaped and slid down slowly down her pained face.

“Baby please. It’s for the better.” Audrey whispered bending over to wipe her tears.

“No!” She screamed pushing away her arm, “You don’t get to tell me you’re leaving and expect me to believe that it’s for the better. How the fuck is this going to help me? It’s just going to make things worse.”

“I’ve had enough of this, I’m leaving, Ash. For good.”

Ashley held onto the picture frame of Audrey imaging the feeling of her still being there. Her long slim arms wrapped around her waist as she whispered mushy love phrases into her ear.

    Knock. Knock.

“Come in.” Ashley said quickly wiping off the tears that dripped down her face.

One of the sorority girls came in and smiled at her. “There’s going to be a journalist coming to the party because she has to write an article about it in the school newspaper. She’ll be interviewing you later on in the day.”

    “Yeah, sure.”

The girl nodded and closed the door behind her. Ashley grabbed her pillow and buried her head into it before letting out a muffled scream. She removed the pillow from her face before she got up and returned to reality.
