It had been a month since Ashley had gotten out of the hospital and nothing had happened between the pair. Ashley was starting to get worried that Spencer was scared or just didn’t want her anymore.

Ashley: “Spencer can I ask you a question?”

Spencer: “Of course Ashley. What is it?” I hope she doesn’t ask about why we aren’t together or whatever cause I really don’t want to have this conversation with her.

Ashley: “It’s been like a month since I got out the hospital and I kinda figured by now we’d you know be a couple, but seeing that we’re not. I was wondering why not. Is it something I’m doing wrong or what?” Ashley looked at the wall behind Spencer afraid of what her answer might be.

Spencer: “It’s not you. It’s me I promise. I just don’t know if I’m ready to be in a relationship after, you know Sherry. Just give me time please?”

Ashley: “I’m not Sherry. I’m not going to treat you like that. I love you too much to do something like that.”

Spencer: “Ash, I know you’re not Sherry but that doesn’t mean you can’t do the same things she did to me. And I really don’t know if I can handle doing that again. Please just give me some time. I promise when I’m ready for a relationship, you’ll be the first to know.”

Ashley: “Fine Spen, you’ll have your time. The only thing is that I don’t know if I’ll still be single when you do decide when you want to be in a relationship.”

Spencer: “And I totally understand that I can’t expect you to sit here and not have a life while I figure out mine.” Spencer you’re such an idiot.

Ashley: “Okay, how about we go out tonight?”

Spencer: “Where?”

Ashley: “Ego or Gray? Personally I want Gray at least we know the people there and I miss being with my friends.”

Spencer: “Then Gray it is.”

LATER THAT NIGHT

Spencer, Ashley, and Chelsea sat at a booth while music blared all around them.

Ashley: “So what does everyone want anything?” She said while sliding out of the booth.

Spencer: “Coke.” She said looking at Ashley as the strobe lights danced across her face.

Ashley: “Spen I don’t think they sell that here but if you want it that bad I’m sure I can get it for you.” Spencer smacked Ashley’s arm as she let out a giggle.

Spencer: “I wasn’t talking about the drug I was talking bout the drink ass.”

Ashley: “Chels, you want anything?” Chelsea just shook her head and watched Ashley as she walked off. Ashley walked up to the bar and signaled for the bartender. “Can I have two cokes and a cranberry juice?” The bartender walked off to make her order when a short girl with brown hair stood close enough to Ashley that they were transferring body heat. Ashley wanted to move down but had nowhere to go. The girl noticed Ashley awkward movements and moved down a bit.

Girl: “Sorry about that didn’t realize I was so close.”

Ashley: “It’s okay ummmm.”

Girl: “Oh my names Heather.”

Ashley: “My names Ashley.” 

Heather: “So I know a pretty girl like you can’t be here alone right.” She said looking Ashley up and down.

Ashley: “I’m not alone. I’m here with a few friends.” Ashley turned and pointed to Spencer and Chelsea who were talking away.”

Spencer: “I’m just not ready for that yet. When I am, I’m pretty sure Ashley will be the one I’m with.”

Chelsea: “I really don’t think she’s going to do anything to you, but hey do what you gotta do.” As soon as the words were out of Chelsea mouth Ashley came back to the group drinks in hand.

Spencer: “What has you grinning like a Cheshire cat?” She said noting the big grin spread across Ashley’s face.

Ashley: “I just met the most amazing person in the world.”
