We Bend, Then We Break – (Chapter: Four)

    CHAPTER 4

I was outside my dorm door, searching for the key to the room.  My arms were filled with books, my guitar slung over my back, Starbucks in my other hand and my key was nowhere to be found.  Not wanting to put all my stuff down to search for the key, I kicked the door with my foot.  I could hear people talking loudly and after banging for the second time I assumed no one could hear me.  Frustrated, I put my stuff down, digging to the bottom of my bag for the key.  When I finally found it, I gathered up my stuff and pushed the door open.

"Hey Spence, I was knocking on the door forever, you-"

I stopped short when I saw a very watery eyed Spencer and it hit me that the loud ‘talking’ that I heard had actually been an argument between Spencer and an unidentified person in the room, sitting on my damn bed.

Seeing that I had not been introduced, I ignored the new person and walked over to Spencer, placing an arm on her shoulder.

                "You okay hunny?"

Spencer gave a weak smiled, sniffled and nodded her head.  "Ashley, this is Taylor," Spencer motioned to the girl still sitting on my bed like she lived here.  "My girlfriend."

Taylor was slender, but not like Spencer, who looked like she worked out because of her muscle tone.  Taylor, however, just looked like she either didn’t eat much or she just didn’t gain weight.  Her dark locks were pulled back in a tight bun that seemed to pull her eyes back with it.  And she had piercing green eyes, lacking all the innocence that Spencer had in hers.  She was pretty, there was no denying that, but the bitch seeping from her pores, made me dislike her off the bat and seeing that Spencer was the only one in this room crying further cemented that thought.  Out of respect for Spencer, however, I turned, plastered a fake smile on my face and introduced myself.

"Hi, I’m Ash," I stuck out my hand.

Taylor’s nose turned up as if she smelled something bad and huffed.  "Yeah, I know who you are.  Ashley Davies right?"

    1. no problem dude, you’re stuff rocks! anyway of course I too don’t like Taylor. bitch seems like an understatement but I love the way ash handled the situation! I know things are going to get interesting once they actually get drunk.. and I can’t wait to see what they say to each other and whatever else goes on! I’m just hoping they don’t do anything they’ll regret. excellent update, pms please!!

    2. So, wow! Just tried this chapter and then just HAD to go back and read the others. Loving it! I think both Ash and Spencer are great characters, the easy dynamic they have going already is very appealing and natural. Can’t wait to see where you’re going to take this so PMS!!
