    this is a poem i wrote from the POV of a shape-shifter that has imprinted but thie imprint does not love them back….there is a short and a longer bersion of the poem so i will post both, please comment on which version you prefer

     Sleep now gentle soul,

    Rest unto the dawn,

    You shall bathe in my warmth,

    And i may watch over you lovingly

    And when you wake and the sky turns to gold

    I should weep for the night,

    And my eyes will stain black

    For the night may bring us fear,

    And the night may bring unto us harm

    But the night is the last stand,

    The night is the last reserve

    The night shall survive when the days have died

    And the sun gods perished

    For the night gives you reason to hold me
