    Moving On…3

Michelle knew exactly what Tina meant. So they go their things and headed towards the car. There was complete silence in the car on the way home. But it wasnt an awkward silence. They both had things on in their mind, that before Tina knew it, she was in the driveway of her house. Michelle could see the hesitation in Tinas eyes. So she offered some comfort and encouraged her to go in.

Michelle: Go ahead, Ill be here if you change your mind.

Tina: Thanks Michelle, I should be fine. Can you just wait until I get inside?

    Michelle: Of course.

Tina walked up the porch and put her hand on the doorknob. And then she realized that she couldnt just walk in because she doesnt live here any more. So she decided to knock. But she got no answer.

    * * *

Bette got out of bed to take a shower. She went into the bathroom and started the shower and took off her clothes. She got into the shower and soaked her body in the hot water. She looked to her side for soap but didnt see any. So she got out, and wrapped a towel around her to look for more. When she got out she heard a distant knock coming from the front door. She peaked her head out of the bathroom, and she could tell right away through the window that it was Tina. How could I not notice that beautiful shiny blond hair she thought. She quickly ran to the door almost busted her ***** while doing it. She whipped the door open and saw Tina walking down the steps. Bette took a moment to take in the sight of Tina before she called her name.

    Bette: Tina, wait.

Tina: Oh heyuhcan I come in?

Bette just smiled a familiar smile.

Bette: Of course, its your home to you know.

Bette watched Tina wave to a car in the driveway. She glanced over only to get a glimpse of who was in it. But in her heart it killed her to know it was Michelle. Bette swallowed her pride, or what she had left of it, and motioned for Tina to sit on the couch while she went to go changed. Tina watched Bette walk out of the living room. God have I missed that body, Tina said to herself.

Bette came back into the living room and sat right next to Tina on the couch. At first neither of them said anything, and just soaked in each others energy that they have missed for the past 2 months. Tina was the first to break the silence.

Tina: Bette I just came over because I didnt want to talk about anything over the phone. And I want to start off first by saying this conversation will have nothing to do with anybody else but you and me. That means we will not talk about Michelle or Candace. Okay?

Bette: I want to talk about whatever you want to talk about, baby.

Tinas heart skipped at the sound of Bette calling her Bette. She usually found comfort in that word, but not this time.

Tina: Bette, what happened to us? Where did it all start to get messed up?

Bette: I dont know Tina, I just dont know.

Tina: I dont understand Bette, we just totally unconnected in every aspect of our lives. And I tried to connect with you, but it always just felt like you were walking away from me every time.

Bette: Im so sorry Tina. I could never walk away from you. I love you so much. You mean everything to me. I cant live without you, and you know it.

Tina: I know, I know. I love you too Bette. But sometimes love just isnt enough. We need a lot of work before we even thing about fixing us.

Bette: Your right. Youre always right

Tina: Its been 2 months since weve even been in each others presenceI need to get use to being around you.

Bette: Do you want to go out for dinner tomorrow night?

Tina: I cant. Alice got a promotion and were celebrating with drinks at the apartment.

    Bette: Oh, well what about.

Tina: Why dont you come over? Say eight oclock?

Bette: I wouldnt be a minute late.

Tina started to get up, but Bette grabbed her hand and pulled her back on the couch. Bette gave her a warm smile and said-

Bette: I meant what I saidI love you, always and forever.

Tina smiled back and walked towards the door. Bette open it for her, stroked her upper are and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Bette: Ill see you tomorrow night.
