Author: jgyrl81@yahoo.com Statement: Characters in this story are strictly those of Showtime the L Word and are not of my creation. Please do not sue me for I have no money. Setting: Takes place directly after the season ending. Characters: Jenny, Marina, other female, other male. There she sat through the aftermath of the nights events. Jenny thought; How much has changed? as she looked upon Robin and Gene sitting there in her ram-shacked so called apartment. Go fish stated Robin. Jenny? Suddenly she snapped back to what was before her; Huh…, oh. replied Jenny. Penny for your thoughts, Robin all the more suddenly concerned for her friend. I was just thinking about how I ended up here. Quizzically both Gene and Robin looking at her with a please elaborate expression on their faces. You mean how you got back to your apartment? Robin shot him a look that told him to shut up. Go on Jenny were listening and Robin turned her head daring Gene to interrupt again. I mean, how I ended up in such a quadraplex of emotions, tangled in a web of deceit, anger, denial, conflict and lies. Looking down Jenny continued. I have nothing anymore, what I thought was concrete I turned into sand, and the castle that I thought I could build from it was washed away with the tide. Searching their eyes to see if they could catch her drift. Robin was sitting there nodding her head in her own contemplation, and Gene had an I dont know what in the ***** you are talking about kind of look of his face. Jeese she thought, he doesnt even have a clue but both of them had been very good to her considering what both Tim and Marina had said and done to them. Against better judgment, Robin asked the inevitable; Do you love her? I dont know if I can forgive her for all the…. Jenny started But thats not what I asked you. Without uttering a word Jenny silently shook her head yes. Then you need to talk to her and with that Robin got up and kissed Jenny on the lips softly and whispered in her ear love got you in this and love……, will get you out Jenny watched in amazement as this woman had simplified her entire dilemma in one simple statement. Robin, I just wanted you to know that you will make someone a very lucky person, and I will forever remember your kindness and friendship. She stated as she reached for robins hand and held it in earnest. Gene……., she said to him looking at the hurt written all over his face. you have been a comforting reminder of the simple side of life. Thank you for showing me there is decency left in the world. Gene suddenly felt awkward and stood. He bid his goodbyes and farewells to both Jenny and Robin, and left. Robin then turned and asked Jenny, so, do you need a ride? Marina sat in the Planet thinking; How much has changed? Less than a year ago everything in her life was simple. Her life was pretty much routine. She ran the Planet by day and hunts the weak at night. When Francesca returned, she would return to her side as the subordinate and doting girlfriend she pretended to be. Trying to take her mind off of her life she looked and began counting down the drawers. Merda! she exclaimed putting her now bleeding finger in her mouth, Damn printing paper which had given her a nasty cut across her index finger, and now and droplets of blood were strewn about. Getting up to clean up the mess she bandaged her finger and returned to the counter for where she was working. Looking down at the blood stained paper she began to remember The death of Sarah……. seeing the irony of the story to the empty pages Marinas heart began to hurt. This is all my fault she stated. She couldnt imagine herself in this predicament over love and life. But what was life without love? she quipped. Suddenly feeling sick she jetted to the bathroom and a series of dry heaves emerged themselves from the pit of her stomach. Oh God Jenny … what have we done? Fifteen minutes later she returned to finish her tasks and she began to wonder about the choices she had made in her life. Looking at Marina, no one would see the torment which was haunting her. Thats it; I guess I was never meant to experience what life is. Sadly Marina began to walk to the door and turn over the sign to close for the day. She went in her office and sank down on the couch. I dont want to be me any more she sighed, because quite frankly she was tired of being the mystery that was Marina. She wished she a regular non-exotic, average plain Jane who would blend in and not stand out. But thats just it … I dont know anything else. Depressed now she pulled out the Just in case joint that Shane left for her, which would have been nothing out of the ordinary except for the white powder which laced its greenish epoxy. Damn…. I really outdid myself this time. Having played with the lighter for a while, she finally got the nerve to light up when she heard a rustle outside of her door. Hello No response. Oh well she figured it was a cat in the ally. Then there it was again. Hello? she yelled now fearing an intrusion. She emitted a soft; If you are trying to break in you are about to have a very bad night. Her accent strong now she cautiously reached in the bottom drawer to retrieve her 45. Holding it steady in her hand Marina was prepared to blow the robber away and was a little anxious and nervous but was reserved in her motions. The door ***** turned slowly, and Marina cocked her gun. 3…….2……1 There she was face to face with Marina she was suddenly at a lost for words when she noticed the gun. Horrified Jenny turned and ran, cursing at herself for thinking she would hear her out at least. She ran all the way back to her house and closed the door. There with her back against the door she sank down in a rage wiping the tears that were streaming down her face. She was going to kill me, she was really going to kill me. Marina was so ghastly shocked. She stood there still holding the gun; she looked down at the metal piece and felt very light headed. Oh no she said. Why was everything turning upside down? She sank down to her knees looking defeated. The door began to crack as the wind ripped through. Marina head was now pounding and her heart felt like it had dropped down to her feet. I have to right this and she got up and went after what she most wanted of all; Her Jenny. Marina having driven well over the speed limit arrived at Jennys house in short time. She parked her car and just sat there. What am I going to say to her? Is she even here? Marina began to panic as constant question flooded her head. Jenny suddenly heard a knock at the door. Tim please, I just need to be alone for a while Jenny, Marina stated Its Marina Go Away!!! Please Jenny, I want so badly to speak with you No Please Jenny, I was not expecting you, I thought it was a robber. Please Jenny open the door Marina having begged Jenny began to tear up, and as she pleaded her voice broke. Having heard the vulnerability in her voice, Jenny rose and opened the door. She looked at the woman anticipating seeing the strong, breathtaking, and alluring which had captivated her heart and was surprised at what was before her. There Jenny looked at a puffy eyed, tired, and weary looking Marina. What do you want? Please, may I come inside? Jenny waited and pondered if she should allow her entrance through the door. She sighed and……………….
