Bette is lying in bed watching Tina sleep. She knows she should be sleeping, but watching her lover sleep seems to be her priority. She is happy that Tina finally gave in to her feelings last night. She couldnt believe that they had been up most of the night making love. They hadnt done that since the first couple of years they were together. . She glances over at the clock by the bed and realizes that she has only had three hours of sleep. She closes her eyes and is trying to go back to sleep when Tina stirs in her arms. Bette opens her eyes and sees that Tina is now lying on her back and the sheet covering her has slipped down to expose her left breast. Bette is amazed to feel her desire for Tina flare again. Unable to stop her self, she caresses Tinas breast and then she gently kisses Tinas mouth. She deepens the kiss when she realizes that Tina is awake and is kissing her back. The kiss goes on for a minute or so before Bette pulls back. She is trying to be considerate of Tina because she knows she must be tired and needs more sleep.

Bette: Im sorry baby I didnt mean to wake you.

Tina: Dont be sorry. That is a great way to start the day.

Bette: Yes it is but you need some more sleep.

Tina (reaching out to Bette): Sleep is overrated.

That was all that Bette needed to hear from Tina. Bette moves so she is lying on her side next to Tina. She rubs her hand over the skin on Tinas stomach, *****, neck and face. She tells her that she loves the feel of her skin. She starts placing tiny kisses on Tinas face and works her way down her body and then back up. She starts gently teasing Tinas nipples and then slowly trails her fingers across her ***** just lightly touching her. She continues to trail her fingers over Tinas skin and she gradually makes her way down to where she is touching the most sensitive part of Tinas body. She starts to move her hand in a rhythm that she knows will make Tina climax. Just as she thinks that Tina is ready to reach *****, Tina surprises her by grabbing her hand and pulling it away. Bette immediately looks into Tinas eyes and is about to ask why she stopped her when Tina pushes her over on her back and climbs on top of her. She tells Bette that it is her turn to show her how much she loves her. She asks Bette to lay still and to not touch her with her hands. Tina runs her fingers over Bettes lips and she pulls at her bottom lip with her thumb. She takes her tongue and licks the inside of Bettes bottom lip that she exposed with her thumb. She tells Bette that she loves her mouth; the way it tastes; the way it makes her feel when she is kissing her and making love to her. She takes her hand away from Bettes face and puts her index finger in her mouth to make it wet and then she puts it in Bettes mouth. She moves it in and out of Bettes mouth as if she was making love to her mouth. She then removes her finger and replaces it with her tongue. She is driving Bette crazy. Bette wants to touch Tina but every time she tries Tina pulls away and says no. Tina kisses and licks her way up and down Bettes body until Bette is trembling with need. She has purposely avoided kissing and licking the one place on Bettes body that would send her over the edge. Tina is now half lying on Bette and when she knows that they are both at their breaking point she tells Bette to touch her. They urgently reach between their bodies to touch each other and they start a rhythm that soon has them both crying out as they climax together. Neither of them was capable of moving for several minutes. Finally Tina shifted so that she could look into Bettes eyes.

Tina: I love you.

Bette (pulling Tina closer): I love you too. That was amazing.

Tina: Yes it was but so was last night. I cant believe we spent most of last night and this morning making love.

Bette: I just cant seem to get enough of you.

Tina: Thats good because I feel the same way.

They lay there quietly in each others arms just being content to be with each other until they both fell asleep. When Tina woke up she found Bette lying on her side with her head propped up on her elbow just watching her.

Tina (reaching up to gently kiss Bette): Good morning or should I say afternoon?

Bette: Afternoon. Its after 1:00 p.m. So sleepyhead you want to sleep some more or you want to get up and eat? We missed dinner and breakfast because someone kept enticing me to make love to them.

Tina (acting innocent): I didnt do anything. I was just lying here.

Bette (laughs and lightly kisses her): Yeah lying there naked and looking beautiful and *****. So whats it going to be? You want sleep or food?

Tina (sexily playing with Bette): Are those my only two options?

Bette (laughs): For now yes.

Tina: Okay. I choose food.

They got up and rather than getting dressed they both opted to put on their bath robes and headed towards the kitchen.

Bette: How about if I heat up what I brought home last night? Or would you rather I get dressed and run and get us something?

Tina: What you brought home last night will be fine.

They heat up their food, sit down at the table and dig in.

Tina: I didnt realize I was so hungry. I guess I worked up an appetite.

Bette (smiles): Yeah I think we both did. So what do you want to do with the rest of the day?

Tina: Well I dont have plans for the evening but I was thinking that maybe we could straighten the house up a bit.

Bette (not thrilled but willing): Okay but we could just get Sonya to do it.

Tina: I wasnt talking about cleaning the house up. I was talking about moving my things out of the guest bedroom and back into our room.

Bette (smiling and enthusiastic): Well in that case most definitely count me in.

They finish eating, clean up the mess and head to the guest bedroom to start moving Tinas things. Bette stops Tina just as she about to enter the room.

Bette: Are you sure about this?

Tina (kisses Bette gently): Im sure that I love you and I want to be with you. I know we still have work ahead of us but I am committed to trying to make it work.

Bette (pulls Tina into an embrace): I love you so much T. (she reaches down and takes Tinas left hand into hers and rubs the spot where her ring used to be and looks into Tinas eyes) T does this mean that I can put my ring back on your finger where it belongs or is it too soon?

Tina stands there but doesnt say anything.

Bette: What am I thinking? You might never want to where it again.

Tina (quietly): I took it off because you broke the commitment we made to each other when we put them on and I didnt want a constant reminder of that.

Bette (starts to cry and is angry with her self): God I fucked things up and it is never going to go away.

Bette starts to walk away and Tina stops her and pulls her into her arms.

Tina: Bette I have to be honest. It wont ever completely go away because I think that neither one of us will forget what happened. But maybe if we work at it we can actually come out of this stronger.

Bette: Do you really believe that?

Tina: Yes I do or I would not be here with you.

Bette: How did I get so lucky to have you in my life?

Tina: Well according to Kit, God made us to find each other.

Bette (looks upward): Thank you God.

Tina: Amen

Bette: Tina about the ring. If you dont want to wear that ring we can buy new rings, we can have a commitment ceremony with family and friends or just by ourselves or we can get married if you want. I just want us to be fully committed to one another if you are willing.

Tina: Bette I dont want a new ring. I want the ring you put on my finger seven years ago. I told you that I didnt want to wear it because it would be constant reminder of you breaking the commitment we made but you know what. We made a commitment that included being with each other through good times and bad.

Bette: So what about a commitment ceremony or maybe getting married? We could go somewhere where same ***** marriage is legal.

Tina: I dont need a piece of paper to feel like I am married to you. Why dont we wait and see how we feel in say three months and talk about a recommitment ceremony then?

Bette: What ever you want is fine by me. So can we get started moving your things back into our room?

Tina is puzzled about Bettes sudden change in topic. She had expected Bette to go and get her ring and put it back on her finger. They work on getting her things moved and finally they have everything back in place in their room.

Bette: Is that everything?

Tina: Yeah I think so.

Bette: I think we missed one item.

Tina: No I dont think so.

Bette: Yeah we did. (She is holding Tinas ring in her hand).

Tina (smiling and laughing): Porter you are a nut.

Bette: Yeah but I am your nut. So can I please put this on your hand?

Tina: Yes please

Bette (as she slips the ring back on Tinas finger): I love you with everything I have and everything I am. Without you Im nothing.

Tina: I love you too. You are my life.

Bette starts to kiss Tina and they wind up back in bed. You would think the way they are devouring each other that they hadnt made love in years let alone hours ago. When their passion was finally spent they got up and took a shower and got dressed. They were talking about what they should do for the evening.

Bette: So what do you want to do? We could go out to dinner or stay home and watch a movie.

Tina: Why dont we go out to eat? If I try to watch a movie I will fall asleep. I didnt sleep much last night you know.

Bette: Are you blaming me for that?

Tina (laughing): I think it was mutual.

Bette: Okay dinner it is?

They went out to dinner and were enjoying their meal and just being with each other when Bettes cell phone rings.

Bette (seeing Alices number on the caller ID looks at Tina): Should I answer it?

Tina: Yes

Bette (answering the phone): Hello Alice.

Alice: Hi Bette. I tried to call you at home but I guess youre out and about.

Bette (looks at Tina): I am having dinner with my beautiful wife.

Alice: It sounds as if things are going better for you two.

Bette: Better doesnt even come close. So whats up? Why did you call?

Alice: Dana, Shane and I are at Milk and we were hoping that you guys would come and join us. It has been a long time since we got together and we miss our little family.

Bette: Let me ask Tina.

Bette (talking to Tina): Alice wants to know if we want to join them at Milk. Dana and Shane are there too.

Tina: Are you ready for that?

Bette: I am if you are.

Tina: Then lets go meet them.

Bette (talking back into the phone): Okay we will meet you there but it will be a few minutes because we are still eating. Bye.

They finish their meal, pay their check and head on over to Milk. They are a little apprehensive because this is going to be their first time of being out together with the family since things fell apart for them. They walk in hand in hand and find Alice, Dana and Shane sitting at a table laughing. They sit down and ask what was so funny.

Alice: I was just telling them about me trying to pull a fast one on my editor today.

Shane: Its good to see you two out together. We missed you.

Bette (reaches over and takes Tinas hand): We missed you guys too.

Alice, Dana and Shane all took note of Bette and Tina holding hands and that Tinas commitment ring was back in place on her finger and they all smiled at one another. They had truly been worried about their friends and if their little family was ever going to be okay again. They spent the evening catching up on each others lives and being happy to all be together. Bette and Tina throughout the evening kept touching each other and sharing little kisses until finally the family told them to go and get a room. Bette and Tina laughed and said they had a room at home. They all hugged each other and said goodnight and Tina and Bette headed for home. When they got home they got ready for bed and crawled in bed together. They were both too tired from their lack of sleep the night before to make love so Bette pulled Tina into her arms so that they were spooning.

Bette: Tina.

Tina: What baby?

Bette: I just want to thank you for giving me another chance and for wearing my ring again. I love you.

Tina: I love you too.

With that they drifted off to sleep. They knew that Tinas ring being back on her finger meant that their commitment to each other was still there and hopefully would grow stronger every day.
