Bette woke when Tina Kissed her.

Tina: Hey babe, I gotta go to the office, your coffee and breakfast are on the table, take your time and make yourself at home.

Bette: What time is it?

Tina: 8:00am, Ive got to be at my office by 9:00, so I like to go early to prepare for the day.

Bette: I better get up, so I can go home and get ready for work.

Tina: youre your own boss (kissing her) take your time.
I fixed you breakfast, please eat before you go, and you can use the shower here if you want.

Bette: okay, so Ill call you later?

Tina: yeah, and Ill miss you today.

She leaned in and Bette pulled her on top of her and proceeded to kiss and try and make her late. Tina pulled back.

Tina: Bette, I gotta go, Ill see you tonight.
Tina got up she stopped at the bedroom door and looked back at Bettes naked body, the sheet across one leg and everything else exposed.

Tina: You are so god damn ***** and beautiful!

Tina shook her head, if she didnt leave now shed be in trouble.

Tina: I love you babe, see you later.

After Tina left Bette threw on Tinas robe and went into the dining room. On the table was a carafe of coffee and a fruit plate with bagels. In the middle of the fruit plate was a wrapped box, Bette smiled and sat down at the table. She took the box and opened it inside was a key and a note.
Bette baby,
I know if your reading this your eating breakfast, I
hope, you know you really should eat better(sorry
the doctor in me). Anyway I wanted you to have
this key, its to my apartment, I want you to be able
to come and go as you please. I love you, I have no
secrets from you. I do see a future with you and I
want to spend as much time as possible with you.
You can even bring a few things(like clothes) to
keep here in case you stay over(wink). Ill see you

Bette smiled, Ive got to make her day, what can I do?
She went to her apartment and got ready for work, while there she packed a few things to keep at Tinas. She got to her office and called Tina.

Sara went into Tinas office
Sara: Tina? Theres a Bette Porter on line 1 for you.
Tina: Ill take it, oh and Sara can you and Angie have lunch with me today?
Sara: Ill check with Ang, but I can. Should we be worried?
Tina: No, not at all, I just need to talk to you both about something personal.
Sara: okay, Ill get back to you.

Sara left Tinas office and Tina picked up the phone.
Tina: Hello?
Bette: Hey T, hows your day going?
Tina: well its only 10:00am but so far so good.
Bette: I miss you so much already.
Tina: mmm….I know, me too.
Bette: and Tina I wanted to tell you, you are the most amazing person, the key is a sweet gesture an I will gladly accept it. I treasure your trust Tina. Thank you for being you.
Tina: oh Bette stop, your getting all mushy, sometimes I like you tuff and demanding. (Laughing)
Bette: Really? I dont think Ive shown you that side of me Ms. Kennard, but now that I know you like it Ive got all kinds of ideas on showing you just how demanding I can be. (laughing)
Tina: Ill think of that all day, I really need to go , Im up to my ***** today, I hate Mondays, Im always swamped. Oh and baby Im telling my nurses today about you, its the only way I can explain your phone calls.
Bette: Youre coming out today?
Tina: First to Sara and Angie, then the whole office will know by the end of the day, believe me.
Bette: You make me proud Dr. Kennard.
Tina: so Ill see you tonight?
Bette: yea, Ill meet you ant your place at 7:00, okay Tina
have a good day and I love you.
Tina: I love you babe, bye.

Tina was nervous about telling the girls about Bette, but she had to, they were already wondering who was putting the smile on Tinas face. They knew Eric was out of the picture.

When it came to lunch, they ordered in and had it delivered. They went to Tinas office. After they all got settled with their food, Tina took a deep breath and began.

Tina: Sara, Angie, I wanted to talk to you guys today, because I need to explain some recent happenings in my life. First and foremost, Im in love.
Sara and Angie smiled.
Sara: we could tell doc.
Angie: you wont quit smiling.
Tina: Well its so great, Im truly in love and its, Im just going to say this, Im in love with a woman.
They both looked at her in shock, but for just a moment.
Then they looked at each other and smiled.
Sara: Are you happy?
Tina: Extremely
Sara: then so are we, were happy for you.
Angie: I dont care who it is as long as she keeps this smile on your face, Ive worked with you for two years now and Ive never seen you this happy, so congratulations Tina you deserve it.
Sara: Ditto! So tell us all about it, about her.
Tina: You guys are great, youll meet her tomorrow shes coming to pick me up then.
They laughed and hugged and finished lunch with Tina answering all their questions. Tina was happy they were so kind and supportive, she thought in the back of her mind I hope my family and friends are as fine with it.


Bette was so amazed by Tina, she was definitely the person she wanted to spend her life with, but she was also so amazed at her own ability to be so patient with her. Tina had made her a softer and kinder Bette Porter, she was okay with that and everyone seemed to like the change.

Bette wanted to surprise Tina this evening, because after this week she was going to be busy with a new show at the gallery and knew she would be working long hours, she also felt she needed to show her how much she appreciated her and her trust in giving her a key to her place. She was about to make a phone call when Kim her assistant called her

Kim: Bette, Tina Kennard on line three
Bette: Thanks Kim, and Kim Tinas my girlfriend, were a couple so you can just say Tina, instead of Tina Kennard.
Kim: Well its about time you told me, good for you Bette.
Shes cute and she must be something to keep you in a relationship, what a month or so now?
Bette: (laughing) ***** you Kim.

Bette picked up the phone.
Bette: Hey T, I miss you.
Tina: Me too. I called to tell you I told the girls at lunch and they were great, very happy for me.
Bette: Good Im glad it went well.
Tina: Now , just my mom, sister and friends.
Bette: Ill be there for you, you know that it will be okay, your mom raised you with an open mind so Im sure shes going to be fine with it. And if your friends cant accept it they were never really very good friends.
Tina: youre right, I know, but Im still a little nervous.
I gotta get back to work , but Ill see you at 7:00, lets order in, Im going to be exhausted.
Bette: Sure, Ill be there baby, bye I love you.
Tina: Bye, I love you.

Bette left the office early . She went and got flowers and then she went to her travel agent.
She got the tickets she wanted and then she went shopping. She got things to fill a basket that went with the tickets. Then she called Tinas office.

Sara: Dr. Kennards office, this is Sara
Bette: Sara, this is Bette Porter
Sara: Hello, Ill get Tina
Bette: No, Sara I wanted to talk to you. I know you dont know me yet, but Im planning a surprise for Tina and I need your help.
Sara: okay, sure Ill see what I can do.
Bette: great, well, Im wanting to take Tina to Cancun for the weekend, but well be flying out Thursday evening, so I need her schedule for Friday cancelled. Is that possible?
Sara: oh, thats a great surprise. Tina said you were very special, I guess shes right. Yeah, I can rearrange her schedule.
Bette: Im giving her the tickets tonight, so shell know by morning, I just wanted to be able to tell her , Id taken care of everything for her.
Sara: Sure, no problem, and Bette, I cant wait to meet you. Tinas a great person and it sounds like you both are good for each other.
Bette: Thanks Sara, and thank you for your help. Bye.

Bette picked up Tinas favorite Thai food and had it ready when Tina walked in the door.
Tina was surprised to see Bette setting the table when she walked in.

Tina: hey baby, ummm something smells good.
Bette: I got your favorite Thai.
Bette went to her and kissed her, Tina pulled her close for a hug.
Tina: I missed you today.
Bette: Me too, you look tired T.
Tina: I am, very busy day, not to mention I didnt get much sleep this weekend. (smiling)
Bette: Are you complaining?
Tina: No way, Im starving lets eat.
Bette: After we eat Im going to rub your feet and massage your body, help you relax.

They ate and talked about their days. Bette was fascinated by Tinas stories and daily adventures in her medical practice. Tina loved the kids she treated you can see it when she talks about them. Bette enjoyed these stories and watching Tina when she told them. She had Tina set on the sofa and relax while she cleaned up. When she joined her she sat with Tinas feet on her lap and she rubbed her feet.

Tina: that feels good babe, your spoiling me.
Bette: Thats right, I always will.
Tina: Im really tired, I think Ill go bed early, do you mind?
Bette: of course not, but just a minute I have a surprise for you.
She went and got the basket and gave it to Tina.

Tina: Whats this?
Bette: A little something to show my appreciation for you being you, for trusting me, loving me, and letting me hang around.(kissing her) So open it.
Tina unwrapped the basket, she pulled each item out and looked at them confused, first was a pair of sunglasses, then a trashy paperback book, a bottle of already mixed margarritas, sun screen, a cute bikini, a beach towel, and a beautiful silver picture frame.
Tina: This is all very nice babe, but I …….
Bette: Look theres more in the bottom of the basket.
Tina looked and pulled out the plane tickets. She opened them and screamed, Were going to CANCUN!!!????
Bette: Yeah, you like?
Tina: This is fantastic Bette, When? Ill clear my schedule.
Bette: Ive taken care of that already.
Tina: What?
Bette: I called Sara and youre off Friday.
Tina: you did? Wow Bette . Youre so sweet.
Tina hugged her and kissed her.
Tina: so when do we go, why are you doing this?
Bette: We leave Thursday evening. I thought we needed a weekend away, alone. Ive got a big show coming up and after this week Ill probably be busy and working some late nights, so its our first trip together, and what better place, we have a cabin to our selves, private beach, pool.
Bette picked up the stuff from the basket.
Bette: this is a starter kit, I cant wait to see you in this (holding up the bikini), and the frame is for a picture Ill take of us.
Tina: Oh Bette your so good to me, Im so lucky to have you in my life.( She kissed her) Suddenly Im not so tired anymore. But I do want to go to bed. (Winking at Bette)
Bette: and thats the reason Im so lucky to have you.

Tina took her hand and pulled her to the bedroom, they threw their clothes off on the way. Tina pushed Bette down and jumped on top of her, she started tickling her, Bette was laughing/crying (she hated being held down and tickled).
Bette: T please stop, please Tina stop, your killing me, Im going to pee on the bed.
Tina laughed and stopped. She leaned down to her and kissed her, her tongue found Bettes she pulled away.

Tina: Never mind (she said as she rolled off of her). I think Ill save it for Cancun.
Bette: (gasped) No way Kennard you cant start something and not finish it, now come here and play fair.
Tina: (laughing) What are you going to do about it Porter?
