It is a Wednesday afternoon and Tina is sitting at her desk at work daydreaming about Bette. She is reflecting on how wonderful it has been between them since she gave in to her feelings and let Bette make love to her. It is hard for her to belief that it has been a month since that night. Tina knew that Bette was still trying very hard to regain her trust and has done everything possible to make sure that her time is accounted for. She loves that Bette is being so considerate of her feelings. Her daydream makes her wish that she was with Bette so she could show her much she loves her. She picks up the phone to call her but hangs it up when her boss walks in to her office. He asks her if she has time to meet with a client regarding a project they have been trying to get into development. He explained the client had showed up unexpectedly and he didnt have time to meet with him. Tina met with the client but they could not come to terms on the development so they agreed to meet again on Friday evening. By the time the meeting was over Tina had looked at her watch about ten times. She was anxious to get home to Bette. She gets in her car and heads home but is disappointed to find that Bette isnt home yet. Most days Bette had been home before she was and if she wasnt, she had called to tell Tina where she was and what time she would be home. Today Tina had received no phone call. Tina wondered where Bette was but she thought she would give her thirty minutes and if she wasnt home she would call Bettes office. She didnt want Bette to feel as if she was checking up on her. Thirty minutes went by and Bette still wasnt home. Tina called her office but she got no answer so she tried Bettes cell phone and got the same result. She was just wondering where Bette could be when she pulled up in the drive way. Tina was in the kitchen when Bette walked in.

Bette (hugs and kisses Tina hello): Baby I am so sorry I was late and didnt call. I got called into an emergency board meeting and didnt have time to call. The board is worried about the next show and whether it is going to be a good follow-up to Provocations.

Tina: I tried to call the office and your cell phone and got no answer.

Bette: Im sorry baby but traffic on the freeway was bad and I knew I would be home in a couple of minutes anyway. (Getting this pathetic look on her face) Do you forgive me?

Tina (hesitates and then decides to make Bette squirm a little): It depends.

Bette (worried that Tina is upset): It depends on what?

Tina: What kind of bribe you have to offer me?

Bette (confused and then picking up on what Tina is really saying): Bribe? What are you talking about? Oh (She moves towards Tina) Well let me think about what I have to offer.

Bette kisses Tina passionately. She stops and tells Tina that she hopes she isnt starving for food because dinner is going to have to wait. She takes Tinas hand and starts walking towards the bedroom and is unbuttoning her shirt as she goes. When they get in the bedroom she wastes little time before they are both naked and she has Tina writhing and begging for her to let her climax. Bette keeps kissing her, touching her and taking her close but pulls back at the last moment. Tina is so turned on she finally tells Bette she is going to kill her if she doesnt quit pulling back. Bette tells her she will make a trade. She says she will quit pulling back if Tina will forgive her for being late and not calling. Tina practically yells to Bette that she forgives her. Bette said thank you baby and resumed her kissing and touching until Tina reached her peak. Bette pulled Tina into her arms and waited for Tina to recover. When Tina regained her breath she told Bette that she loved her and she proceeded to show her just how much. When they were both sated they decided that they should do something about having dinner. They opted to call and have dinner delivered rather than cooking or getting dressed and going out to dinner. They called to order their food, crawled back into bed and were holding each other and talking.

Bette: So how was your day?

Tina: Not too bad. I got called into a meeting with a client this afternoon unexpectedly. We have been working on trying to get one of his projects developed but he is worried about us being true to his story. How about you?

Bette: Work is starting to get hectic again. As I told you earlier the board is worried about our next show being a good follow up to Provocations. (Looking at Tina and worried about her reaction) I am going to have to start spending a little more time at the office in order to get everything done. Are you going to be okay with that?

Tina: Bette I know you have a demanding job that sometimes requires you to put in long hours. As long as we are communicating and I know that you are working I can deal with that.

Bette (kisses Tina lightly): I love you.

Tina: I love you too babe.

Their food arrives and they are at the kitchen table getting ready to eat when the phone rings.

Bette (picking up the phone): Hello.

Kit: Hey baby sis!

Bette: Is that my sister calling me? I thought you had moved or something because I hadnt heard from you in quite a while.

Kit: Hey I was giving you time to reconnect with Tina. How are things?

Bette (looking over at Tina): Wonderful! I am so lucky to have her with me.

Kit: I am so happy for you.

Bette: So what have you been up to?

Kit: I have actually been pretty busy. Ive picked up a few gigs here and there so I am doing okay and I may have a chance at a regular gig at this new club that opened up over on Sunset Blvd.

Bette: So whats the name of the club and whats it like?

Kit: Its called the Sunset Club. I dont know much about it. Actually that is why I am calling. I was hoping that since I hadnt seen you and Tina in a while that maybe Friday night we could meet up and check it out.

Bette: Hold on and let me check with Tina to see if we have plans.

Bette (talking to Tina): Baby do we have any plans for Friday night?

Tina: I dont think so. Why?

Bette: Kits on the phone and she wants us to go with her Friday night to check out a new club over on Sunset Blvd. She might have a job offer for a regular gig there. So what do you think?

Tina: Yeah. Oh wait. I forgot I am supposed to meet with that client at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The guy I told you about tonight. Im sorry baby. Why dont you go ahead and go with Kit?

Bette: I dont want to go with out you T.

Tina: Its okay. I know you havent spent much time with Kit lately and Im sure she wants your advice about working at the club.

Bette: Are you sure?

Tina: Yes. No sense in you having to sit home and wait on me while I am working.

Bette (talking back into the phone): I talked to Tina and she cant make it because she has to meet with a client but I can go. Where do you want to meet?

Kit: Great. Why dont we just meet at the club at 7:30 p.m.? Do you know where it is?

Bette: I think so. Dont worry I can find it. So I will see you Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Bette and Tina ate their dinner and spent the rest of the evening cuddled together in bed watching television until they fell asleep.

Friday morning arrives and Tina is getting ready to leave for work. Bette is still in the bedroom getting dressed and Tina goes in to tell her goodbye.

Tina: Baby Im leaving.

Bette: It is that late already?

Tina: Relax Bette it is still early.

Bette (coming up to Tina to kiss her): Bye baby. Have a good day.

Tina: You too. Oh and have fun with Kit tonight and I will see you when you get home.

Bette: I wish you were going.

Tina: I do too but I have to meet with this client. Bye.

Bette: Bye.

Tina heads off to work and shortly thereafter Bette heads to the CAC. They both are very busy and before they realize it is nearing 5:00 p.m. At around 5:30 p.m. Bette heads home to change and get ready to meet Kit. Tina is sitting in her office and she is making sure she has everything she needs for her meeting with her client. Her phone rings and it is her client asking if they can move their appointment up an hour. He has something that has come up and he needs to head out of town this evening. Tina arranges for him to come to her office at 6:00 p.m. and she hangs up the phone. She decides that if everything goes okay with the client it might work out that she can surprise Bette by showing up at the Sunset. Tinas client actually shows up a little before 6:00 p.m. and she manages to convince him that they can develop his project into a film and manage to maintain the integrity of his story. They finish up at a little after 6:30 p.m. Tina decides that she should have plenty of time to get over to the Sunset to surprise Bette. She gathers up her things, locks up the office and heads out. Bette decided she might as well head out a little early to meet with Kit. It would give her an opportunity to check the club out a little bit before Kit got there. She arrived and was checking the place out when she felt some one tap her on the shoulder. She turned around and was expecting to see Kit there but instead was totally shocked to see Candace standing there.

Candace: Hi Bette.

Bette: Hi.

Candace: Im surprised to see you here. Are you here by yourself?

Bette (looking around for Kit): I am meeting Kit here.

Candace: So how are you?

Bette: Things are good. Tina and I are back together and I couldnt be any happier.

Candace: Im happy for you. I really am.

Unbeknownst to either Bette or Candace, Tina has walked into the club and spotted them talking to each other. She couldnt hear what they were saying but she just stood there watching them.

Bette: Thanks. Candace I didnt mean to hurt you.

Candace (reaching out to touch Bettes hand): Hey its okay. I knew what I was getting in to when it started. I better get going I am supposed to be meeting Yolanda. Bye.

Bette: Bye.

Tina watched them and when she saw Candace reach out and touch Bette she turned and walked out of the club and when she got outside she took off running to her car. She was crying and her heart was breaking into a million pieces. She couldnt believe that this was happening again. She drove to the house and went in. She was trying to figure out what she was going to do. Seeing them together just made her remember what had happened the night of the Provocations opening. She knew that she could not stay here. The only thing she could think of was that she had to leave. She had to get away from the house, from L.A. and from Bette. She threw some things in a suitcase and made sure she had her ATM card. She got in her car and got on the highway. She didnt know where she was headed but she just drove on.

Kit arrived at the Sunset club and found Bette waiting for her our front.

Kit (hugging Bette): Hi!

Bette: I missed you.

Kit: I missed you too. Shall we go in?

Bette: Sure. I got here a little early and checked the place out already.

Kit: So what do you think? Would it be a good place for me to work?

Bette: Seems to be clean and not to seedy or upscale either.

Kit: What about a stage?

Bette: It has a decent stage and seemed to have a good sound.

Kit: Lets go in so I can see for my self.

They go in and walk around checking everything out and then sit down at a table. They both order sparkling water to drink. Bette is glad to see that Kit is still not drinking. They are talking about what has been going on each others lives and catching up. Bette told Kit about running into Candace before she got there. Bette told Kit, that while she wished that Tina was with her, she was glad that Tina hadnt come because seeing Candace would have upset her. Kit asked her how she felt about seeing Candace. Bette told her that other than feeling bad about hurting her she felt nothing. They talked for a while longer and Bette told Kit that she wanted to get home to Tina. They hugged and promised that they would talk soon. Bette got in her car to head home and decided she would call Tina to see if she wanted her to bring anything to eat home with her. She called both the house and Tinas cell phone and got no answer so she called Tinas office. Again she got no answer. She drives on home hoping to see Tinas car in the drive way and is a little worried when she finds the house dark and no car in the drive way. She checks the time and sees that it is almost 9:00 p.m. She is wondering where Tina is and finally at 10:00 p.m. she calls Tinas office and her cell phone again and still gets no answer. She decided to call Alice to see if she has heard from her. Alice tells her that she hasnt talked to Tina all day but if she hears from her she will call. She tells Bette to let her know if she hears from her.

Tina has driven for two hours before she decides she needs to stop and fill up the car. She decides that she will call Alice and tell her that she left town. She cant even think of talking to Bette, but she doesnt want her friends worrying about her. She picks up the phone and calls Alice.

Alice: Hello

Tina (quietly): Hello

Alice: Tina?

Tina: Yeah its me.

Alice: Where are you? Bette called a few minutes ago looking for you?

Tina: Im not sure exactly where I am.

Alice: What are you talking about?

Tina: I got in my car and left L.A. a few hours ago and Im not sure what town I am in. I stopped to fill the car up and I knew I had to call and let some one know that I left.

Alice: What happened?

Tina (starting to cry): I dont want to talk about it. I just had to leave. I dont know where I am going or how long I will be gone. I will call you in a few days.

Alice: Tina will you please talk to me.

Tina: Im sorry Alice but I just cant. I promise I will call you in a few days. Bye.

Bette is pacing the floor and she is imagining the worst. She is getting ready to call the hospitals when her phone rings.

Bette (seeing Alices phone number on her caller ID): Alice did you hear from Tina?

Alice: Yes. She just called me.

Bette: Where is she? Is she alright?

Alice: I dont know.

Bette: What do you mean you dont know? You are scaring me.

Alice: Bette she left L.A. She said she couldnt talk to me and she didnt even know where she was. She promised she would call in a few days. What is going on Bette?

Bette (kind of freaking out): I dont have a clue. Why didnt she call me Alice? Why would she leave? She had a meeting with a client tonight. Do you think that he might have done something to her?

Alice: I honestly dont know. I guess we will have to wait for her to call to find out.

Bette hung up after talking to Alice and she is totally confused and distraught. She keeps wondering what could have happened that would have caused Tina to leave. She feels helpless because she has no answers. Tina has pulled off the road and is sitting in her car at a rest stop. She is tired and she is crying. She knows she should probably find a hotel and get a room for the night but she is just too upset to do that. She decides that she will just lock her doors and sleep where she is. She tells her self that she will decide what to do in the morning because tonight she has no answers.
