Alices head slowly peaked around the door followed by Dana and Shane who looked like they might burst from excitement. Tina was lying in the hospital bed with Bette sitting next to her holding her in her arms. Tina smiled warmly at them as the rest of the family entered and gave Tina and Bette their gifts and congratulations. Tinas hair was disheveled and her face was a little more pale than normal as she was completely exhausted, but no one could deny the look of happiness on her face as she greeted her friends. Bette still looked a little stressed out as well, but she grinned at Alice who gave her a big hug and kiss on the cheek. They all stood around and asked Tina how it was and how Bette held up and laughed as Tina recalled how Bette ran from the delivery room to throw up in the toilet instead of all over herself.

Hey at least I held it in until after it was over.

Yes baby you were wonderful.

Alice made a face as Bette leaned down and kissed Tinas forehead softly. Too ***** cute, she thought as she nudged Dana and smiled at her. Shane noticed that Bettes arm was wrapped in gauze and she asked what happened.

Tina.

What?

She decided she needed to leave me with some battle scars from today.

Everyone laughed again as Bette told them that Tina had been gripping her arm so tightly that her short nails had left quite a mark on her arm. Just then there was another knock on the door and a nurse came in holding Liz. Alice, Dana and Shane were completely speechless as the nurse handed Liz to Tina and told her that it was time to try and feed her. Bette looked up and saw everyone standing there smiling like idiots and she motioned for them to take a step closer since they all backed up about four feet from the bed when the nurse had walked in. Alice and Dana cautiously took a few steps closer and peered down at Liz lovingly while Shane went around and stood next to where Bette sat so she could get a better view of the newest member of the family. Tina looked up happily and introduced Liz to the group.

Guys, wed like you to meet our baby girl. This is Elizabeth Christina KentorLiz this is everyone.

Liz was non responsive as everyone gushed over her and the nurse gave them a few minutes to take in the sight before gently reminding Tina she needed to try and feed the baby so Bette jumped up and shooed everyone out of the room.

Why Bette? Its not like we dont know what Tina looks like topless

I know Al, but I really dont think she wants an audience for this. Dont worry you guys can come back in when shes done.

Okay fine.

Bette smiled at Alice before promptly kicking her out of the room and shutting the door behind her. Tina had part of her gown open and she unsuccessfully trying to get Liz to suckle on her breast. The nurse explained that first time mothers usually struggle with this in the beginning and not to get discouraged. Bette walked back over to her and took her seat at Tinas side as Tina tried again to feed her baby. After about ten minutes of this Tina was getting exasperated and the nurse said maybe they should wait and try again in half an hour. She told Tina that sometimes the baby just needs to get used to it so hopefully a second try will do her good. The nurse took baby Liz back out to the room where all the newborns were kept and Bette pulled Tina into her arms and held her as Tina tried to relax and not cry over the fact that Liz didnt want to feed. Alice stuck her head in again after seeing the nurse leave but Bette just gave her a look that said, not now. Alice slunk back out into the hallway and took her seat near a half sleeping Dana. It was nearly three in the morning and they were all exhausted just thinking about how tired Bette and Tina must be so they decided to head home. Alice stuck her head in once more and motioned to Bette that they were leaving and she would call her tomorrow and Bette just waived at them while stroking Tinas hair softly. After about twenty minutes or so the nurse brought Liz back in the room and told Tina to try again. This time after a couple minutes of no movement, Liz finally decided she was hungry and latched on Tinas nipple softly. Tina felt her begin to suck lightly and a weird feeling spread throughout her body. It wasnt an erotic feeling like she would if it were Bette sucking on her *****, but rather a feeling of love and protection and Tina felt a big smile spread across her face. The nurse smiled at her and patted Tinas leg gently.

Seeall she needed was a little getting used to.

Tina looked down and watched Liz do her best to acquire the milk from her breast and Bette smiled down at her with nothing but love in her eyes. Tina laughed when Liz sucked a little harder and she felt so strange to be sitting in a room with her wife and a complete stranger while her breast was being manipulated by a tiny creature. Bette watched Tina feeding Liz and she felt tears threaten to form in her eyes. This was what she had been waiting her whole life for, her family, and now it was finally here. She stood up and said she needed to use the bathroom so she excused herself and walked out into the hall. She quickly walked to the bathroom and splashed some water on her face before returning to Tina. She had just finished feeding Liz and Tina smiled at Bette when she walked back into the room. Bette gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before settling down next to her on the bed. Tina instinctively turned and nuzzled her face in Bettes chest and Bette held her until she fell asleep a few minutes later.

Three days later they were finally allowed to bring Liz home so after some last minute instructions and signing all the right forms, Bette finally got to take her family home. The ride home was quiet as all of Tinas attention was on Liz and Bette looked over at her a couple of times and smiled. Once inside the house Bette moved the crib into their bedroom since Tina had said she wanted to make sure she could hear Liz when she cried at night. It was only eight oclock but they were exhausted and Tina said she wanted to try and feed Liz once more before putting her down to sleep. She seemed to only want to sleep in four-hour increments and at the hospital both Bette and Tina quickly learned that they needed to adjust their sleeping pattern to match the babys. Bette put away Tinas things while Tina took Liz into the nursery and fed her again before gently rocking her to sleep. Once Liz was sleeping Tina put her down in the crib and just stood there watching her sleep. Bette came up behind her and wrapped her arms around Tina and kissed her temple softly. Tina smiled and placed her hands over Bettes as the two mommies watched their precious baby sleep. Ten minutes later Bette and Tina were lying in bed trying to sleep while Liz allowed this and Bette noticed that Tina couldnt seem to get comfortable.

Whats wrong baby?

Nothing. I just want to make sure I can hear her when she cries.

Bette smiled and let Tina wiggle around until she was sure she was in a good position before wrapping her arms around her again. Bette was asleep in about two seconds but Tina was still wide awake. She looked back and forth between the crib and Bette as she smiled to herself. Both of my babys are sleeping, she thought as she snuggled in deeper into Bettes embrace. At ten oclock Tina finally drifted off to sleep, but at eleven forty-five awoke quickly when she heard Liz little cries. Tina got out of bed as carefully as possible as to not wake Bette who mumbled something incoherent in her sleep as Tina moved her arm before rolling over and resuming her deep slumber. Tina got up and carefully picked Liz up before carrying her across the hall to the nursery. Tina didnt think she was hungry so she held Liz and rocked her gently as she softly sang to her. Tinas voice must have soothed Lizs concerns because after about ten minutes of this she had stopped crying and was fast asleep in her mothers arms. Tina walked back to the bedroom and set Liz down in her crib again before climbing back into bed with Bette.

Is everything okay?

Bettes voice was hoarse with sleep and Tina kissed her forehead before telling her yes, everything was fine and to go back to sleep. Bette mumbled something else before pulling Tina into her arms and falling back asleep. Tina smiled and let sleep overtake her as well and she hoped that at least more than two hours would go by before Liz decided she wanted company again. At three AM Tina woke up and groggily looked at the crib expecting to hear Liz making some kind of noise but she was surprised that it was totally quiet in the room. She rolled over expecting to find Bette snoring lightly but when she saw the bed was empty Tina sat up in concern. Tina jumped out of bed but stopped when she saw the dim light of the nursery on. Tina crept over and peeked in the room to find Bette sitting in the feeding chair holding Liz and talking to her softly.

Okay Liznow that its just you and me we have a few house rules to discuss.

Tina put her hand over her mouth to conceal her laughter and listened intently as Bette had a talk with Liz. Bette was gently rocking in the chair and she was smiling down at Liz as she spoke quietly.

Rule number one, you need to let your mommies get at least some sleep. If you dont that makes for cranky mommies and Im bad enough but trust me you dont want to see your other mommy in a cranky mood. Thats a valuable piece of advice Liz. Always remember that.

Liz looked at Bette curiously but didnt say anything as she waited for her mommy to continue. Tina smiled and stepped back out into the hallway because she knew Bette would look up to see if she was awake and she didnt want to miss any part of this. Sure enough Bette looked up at that moment to check if Tina was still sleeping, and when she didnt see her standing there, Bette continued.

Rule number two, never under any circumstance should you lie to either of us. I know you cant talk yet, but when you do, just remember that lying only gets you into deeper troubleso dont do it. It could end up costing you more than you know.

Tina felt tears form in her eyes when she heard Bette say this and she knew Bette still thought about the affair she had with Candace. Not because she wasnt sure she made the right decision, but because it was a reminder of what she almost lost. Tina leaned against the wall as she waited for Bette to continue.

Rule number three, just remember that no matter what, we love you. Even if you do become a dirty bisexual like your aunty Alice.

Tina put her hand over her mouth to muffle her laughter and quietly made her way back to bed. She crawled in bed and sighed happily as she waited for Bette to come back to bed. Seeing Bette with Liz made Tinas heart soar with love and she was finally able to let go of the deep rooted fears she had that once the baby was here that Bette would distance herself again. She loved Bette more than anything and she loved Liz more than anything but deep down inside until now, Tina was not one hundred percent sure that Bette was completely ready for this. Tina had a stupid fear that once the baby came and Bette saw what responsibilities came with raising a child, that she would see she really wasnt ready for this and would leave her again. As much as Bette had assured her this would never happen, it was something that Tina had held on to as a reminder that she could never take any relationship for granted again. Bette retuned a few minutes later and put Liz down in the crib before gently climbing back into bed. Tina pretended like she was asleep and smiled when she felt Bette wrap an arm around her and nuzzle her neck a little. Tina let Bette get comfortable before quietly teasing her, just a little.

So Im not fun when Im cranky huh?

Uhumyou heard that huh?

Tina laughed silently as Bette placed a kiss on Tinas neck. Tina turned on her side and wrapped an arm around Bettes waist and pulled her closer.

So how did your talk go?

Good I think. Well see in about eighteen years I guess.

They both laughed quietly and Tina leaned in and kissed Bette softly on the lips. She was so happy that her family was finally complete after all this time. Bette smiled into the kiss and after a few seconds she pulled back a little to kiss Tina on the forehead before snuggling down into her pillow and falling asleep. Tina stayed awake for a little while longer and when she finally fell asleep the smile lingered on her lips as she dreamed about everything that was to come as her and Bette embarked on the journey of bringing up their daughter, together.
