    Tina has some things to realise and Bette has a visitor!

    Chapter 9

    They had arrived back at the apartment about an hour ago and Tina was sitting on the balcony over looking the city. The cool night air engulfed her body, as she tightened the blanket around her. Silent tears had been falling from her eyes rolling down her pale cheeks. On hearing Rachel approach she quickly wiped them away hoping that she wouldnt notice. The brunette walked out in a pair of jeans and her bra, she had been getting changed when she realised that Tina was still outside. The blonde could feel that Rachel was standing behind her looking at her; she couldnt stand it.
    I have to go back to my place tonight. Tina said getting up and walking through the door back into the apartment.
    What why? Rachel was confused Tina rarely went back to her own place.
    I just need to be on my own, I need to think.
    Think about what? Rachel asked quickly following the blonde who was hunting for her keys. Tina. Stop please. The blonde stood still but she had her back to the other woman. What is going on? Rachel thought she knew what was coming but she wanted to be wrong.
    Im sorry. When she turned to look at the younger woman tears were rimming in her eyes. I just need to be by myself.
    What does that mean? Rachel felt like she had been punched in the stomach. You need to explain so that I understand. Her voice cracked at the end of her sentence.
    Just everything is so confusing at the moment and I dont want to hurt you while I figure it out.
    Its Bette isnt it? The look on Tinas face told her all she needed to. I know you never loved me but I always thought that if I gave you time you would. But I know its never going to happen.
    Rachel
    No let me finish. You will never look at me the way you look at her you think I didnt notice. I noticed everything, like the way when you reverse you stick out your tongue slightly, or when youre really comfortable you rest your hand on your stomach. The way when your friends are talking they have your full attention. I fell in love with you the moment my eyes hit you. And after 8 months it hasnt changed. Tears were now freely flowing from her cheeks. And more than anything else in the world I want you to be happy. So you need to walk out of that door before I regret that.
    You deserve someone so much better than me. Tina said taking a step towards the brunette.
    Please just go. Tina looked pained but did as she was told and walked through the door her cheeks painted with tears. Tina didnt know where to go or what to do, so she let her heart take over.

    Bette was walking out of her front door tossing out the trash when she noticed a figure at the bottom of the drive. She walked closer and within a few steps she knew who it was. Candace. They both stood still for a while just taking in the presence of the other person, Candace walked towards the taller woman her eyes searching her face trying to remember every detail.
    What are you doing here? Bette asked completely thrown by the woman.
    I heard you were back in town, I came by earlier but you were out.
    Yeah I was at a barbeque.
    I just had to see you, I have thought about you every day since you went.
    Candace you shouldnt be here. Bette didnt know what to say. Its late.
    I could stay and keep you company. Candace took a step close and Bette didnt move it had been a long since another womans body had been this close.
    I dont think thats a good idea. Bettes breath was ragged as she spoke causing Candace to smile knowing she had an effect on the brunette.
    Your mouth is saying one thing and your body is saying another. Candace moved slightly closer so that their bodies were forced against each other. Let me see if I cant change your mind. Candace looked up and inched her mouth close to Bette who didnt move into the kiss, but their lips found each other. And the moment their lips touched Bette heard a car door slam, looking down the path she saw Tinas car speeding away. Bette took control of the situation and pushed Candace away.
    I really think you should be going. Bette said and began to walk away.
    Im in love with you Bette, Im not going anywhere. Candace shouted but she knew it had fallen on deaf ears as she watched Bette disappear.

    5. OMG! Bette really screwed that up! Now just how is Tina going to forgive her for that one? Can she trust Bette when she tries to tell her the truth? But what is the truth, yeah Candace started the kiss, but Bette didn’t do anything to stop it. Poor, poor Bette…I think Tina deserves someone like Rachel, not someone who cant control their emotion.

    13. Why Candace after all this time?
      Tina has been with Rachel for 8 months she need to see Bette with someone else why does it have to be Candace find someone else…And shake it up a little. Great Story!

    20. OK, your last post was June 13, 2004. Please post again… you cannot leave this story with Tina thinking Bette is hooking up again with the damn carpenter. Great story. Come on people, ask her to post.
