Bette opened the door and there was Shane. (Bettes thinking Oh God what is she doing here how am I supposed to face her)

Shane: Hey, I know its very late ..

Bette: No, no its ok. I was awake anyway. Just reading and catching up on some paper work.

Actually its 11.30 p.m. and Bettes wondering whats happening. This must be important or else Shane wouldnt be here.

Shane: Is this a better time? I brought the drinks again, if youre okay for me to come in. Maybe we can talk.

Bette was surprise but please that Shane wants to talk.

Bette: Yeah sure. Come on in Id love to have a drink. Sure we can talk.

Bettes not sure whats going on But shes happy to see Shane.

Shane: You mean the coast is clear. (smiling)

Bette: yes. Come in. Im glad you came. I thought youd never speak to me again after last night. Lets have the drinks first.

After a few beers. Shane started talking

Shane: Im . really sorry about last night. I just .. sort of lost it when I saw .

Bette: No, you were right and I know where youre coming from. I know you love Tee and I know I let you guys down.

Shane: No, .. please let me finish. You dont have to explain anything to me. Im the last person to preach about responsibilities about relationship (Pausing)
I didnt tell her. (Bette understood what she meant. Shes so relief.)

You know, I wanted to hit you real bad last night. . . (Bette felt tense) Hey, relax I wont . at least I think I wont. Just kidding

What I really wanted to say is, though Im still upset I just want you to know Im still your friend. We go a long way back Bette. You have always understood me best and stood by me and after Tina came into your life things got even better. I have two of the best people in this world who loved me. I love you and Tina. Were family. And family look our for each other.. I was so hurt with my own problems and when you and Tina . everything I ever hope would happen to me one day just came crashing down. The love you guys have for each other have always given me hope how wonderful it is to be with someone for so many years and still loved each other so much.

Bette, I cannot call myself a friend and not care about you. How can I say Im your friend if I am not going to be there when hard times come. I am so lucky to have you and Tina as my friends. I wont let my own personal feelings stand in the way of true friendship. You are my friend well be friends hopefully forever … come what may. And friends stand by each other in good times and especially in the bad times.

Bette couldnt take it anymore, tears streaming down her face. She was so touch by what Shane said. She was feeling so alone since Tina left she couldnt face them and have avoided them for the past three weeks. She felt as if she had lost all her friends because of what she did.

She hugged Shane. Thank you that means the world to me. Im sorry I hurt you, all of you. I so sorry I hurt Tina. Im sorry I f*** up.

Shane got up pace around ..
Shane: Dont be too happy yet cause Im not finish yet after you hear what I say you may have wish I hadnt come. You will not like what Im going to say but I have to say it anyhow Im your friend and I am also Tinas friend. I love you guys.

Heres the deal as Tinas friend I will not stand by and watch you hurt her again and again. You want to carry on with that woman thats your business but please do her a favour break it with her first. Tell Tina its over tell her so that she can get on with her life. Dont jerk around with her. Its cruel its cruel Bette.

I know thats not the first time she was here (Bette looked away feeling ashamed) I came to take some things for Tina few weeks ago . Thats why we never let her come back here alone. Al and myself we come for her things or we come with her but somehow she knows shes absolutely shattered.

Bette, listen here and listen good dont you ever dare bring that woman into this house again until you break it off with Tina. This was once Tinas house too. How dare you. How dare you show her such contempt.

Bette: Are you threatening me now?

Shane: take it whichever way you want. But if I see her here while you keep your relationship still hanging, I swear I wont be walking away. I didnt survive the street by being charming. Dont mess with Tina or you will have to contend with me. I swear I will beat the ***** out of you and her.

What you do after that is your business. As your friend I will stand by whatever decision you make, whether I like it or not. But to flaunt her to bring her into your home and not care about how Tina feels youve crossed the line. You may not love her anymore but that does not mean you have to treat her like *****.

Bette: I do love her

Shane: well, youd fool me hey I love you but guess what Im f***ing someone else. Just because you dont want her anymore doesnt give you a right to treat her like *****. You make her feel unwanted. Like shes not worth anything. Like shes not good enough for you. A reject (Shane eyes was sad filled with pain and she look straight into Bettes eyes) . thats cruel. She doesnt deserve that.

Bette: I never said I dont want her never (tears flowing down her face)

Shane: you dont have to. Your action speaks louder.

Bette: I do really love her I do

Shane: No youre just holding on to the knowledge that you once loved her. If you really love her like you said you do youd NEVER do a thing like that. So, dont give me that bullshit.

Bette: Shane please, please hear me out. Give me a chance youve said what you came to say . I have to explain what happened last night. Let me tell you

Shane: no dont. Im not the one you need to explain to. You break it off and you do what you want.

Bette: No, Shane I want to tell you. Its important for me to know that you know what really happened. Last night, Candace came over uninvited. I did not ask her over. Im not with her anymore. Its over. I broke it off the day before yesterday. Yes, what you said its true, I dont deny it I turned to Candace after Tina left Im not proud to say that I was hurting so bad I was feeling so lost when Tina left and I felt my world fell apart so I went and f*** her. I f*** up so bad I really do love Tina, I really do .
Last night she came over to ask me to reconsider I was in the middle of telling her not to ever come over ever again its over and I will never see her or f*** her again. Thats the truth Shane. Youve got to believe me. ( Bette pleading with Shane)

Shanes not sure what to believe anymore Bette wouldnt lie to her. She wants so badly to believe thats the truth but if thats the truth why did Bette not call to explain. She just couldnt understand.

Shane: Bette it doesnt matter if I believe you, what matters most is if Tina believes you. You have to be sure you want her. If you are then you have to fight to get her back. Its not going to be easy . Well support you You want her, you fight for her. If you cannot do that if you cannot go the distance then its better that you leave her alone.
Dont just go back to her because you have this guilt or you feel lost and alone do it only if you want to spent the rest of your life with her. Do it because you love her. Shes worth fighting. Bette, shes worth it. You should know.

Bette: I do. I want her back I really love her.
