what if…(XVII)
Tina was talking with Oscar as Shane entered the Centre to pick her up.
As she waited for her to finish the meeting, Shane noticed how beautiful Tina looked, she noticed her curly blonde hair falling on her shoulders, the smile growing on her face as Oscar was nodding, patting her on the shoulder and then looking at her belly.
Looking at Tinas belly Shane noticed that even when she was still using same clothes as always, shed tell she was growing, her curves were more obvious and her *****, well Shane didnt want to think about them….
Last nights image was pretty fresh in her memory, it was an accident but seeing Tina naked was something she was not used to and it didnt matter how many girls Shane has seen before, Tina was different.
Tina was her friend, her family but it was a gorgeous woman too. Alice, Tina, Dane and Shane were going for dinner and as Alice was covering, finishing a story and Dane was practicing Shane decided to go with Tina. She arrived at Alices early so taking a beer from the fridge she yelled at Tina that shed wait watching some tv. Tina was in the shower, Shane could hear the water from the living room, then as she was sipping her beer she looked at Alices bedroom which had the door slightly ajar. She didnt mean to but Tinas nudeness glued her eyes in that direction, she tried not to look, she even cough a little, trying to get Tinas attention so maybe she could close the door but nothing happened.
Tina, totally unaware of Shanes look was trying clothes on, looking herself on the mirror. She stripped several times, making Shane gulp from joy, amusement and little gilt.
Seeing Tina naked Shane noticed the soft curve on her stomach, her now voluptuous small ***** and most important, the beautiful shape of her back, Shanes mouth was getting dry just imagining, just thinking about touching the end of Tinas back.
Looking at her now, talking on the phone in Oscars office Shane was remembering the shape of Tinas body, it was like looking at a beautiful violin, the curves in its right place, the soft skin glowing with light, her long neck, inviting, wanting to be kiss.
Sighing deeply Shane shook her head, walking towards her friend, wondering how in the world could anyone cheat on that beautiful caring woman.
Dinner went great, even when Alice couldnt make it. Shane talked about Sherry for the first time while Tina listened, nodding. She didnt ask, not once, she just let her friend share whatever she wanted to.
Looking at Tina, Shane felt she could trust her, that was one of the things she liked the most about her, no matter how bad things were, Tina was always a helping hand. She was always there, waiting, friendly, caring. Shane didnt say much, just enough for Tina to read in between the lines all the pain that was in Shanes eyes, her wounds healing slowly, her memory erasing, or hiding the bad times.
Tina was enjoying caramel pie while Shane was quietly sipping her black coffee.
Looking up Tina noticed Shane staring at her, with her look lost in her thoughts.
Tina smiled, loving, always had, seeing how easily could Shane travel to other places, other times just by ignoring what was gong on around her.
“Where are you?” Tina asked, sipping her tea.
“Uh?” Mumbled Shane, back in reality.
Just now, you were far, far away chuckled Tina.
“Nah, was just thinking Shane said lightly shaking her head.
“About?” Tinas question was not intruding, was concerned, seeing the frown on her friend face.
“Was thinking about you and Bette Shane words end in a whisper, tentative, shy.
“Oh..” Shanes thoughts took Tinas by surprise, but looking at her sweet eyes, Tina felt an easiness, such calm, she felt home in her company.
Taking her time looking at her, asked,
“Would you like to talk about it?” Tina was eating her pie again, trying to look as nonchalant as possible.
Tinas question amazed Shane once again, how was possible that she was worried about her when she was suffering the most.
“Are you ok Tee?” Shane, leaning on the table was looking at Tina in the yes, concerned.
“Did you read Bettes email?” was Tinas answer, as Shane was shaking her head Tina, nodding leaned back on her chair, sighing.
It was beautiful, am glad she is there am sure its good for her I just miss her but I miss her not because or not just because I want to see her, to feel her, to know she is ok I miss her as HER you know what I mean? (Shane nodding encouraged Tina to go on)I miss Bette, Shane, I miss my wife but I miss my friend even more I miss talking with her about everything, I miss knowing what she was thinking, I miss smelling her perfume the moment I arrived home.. I miss calling her on the phone just for the joy of listening to her voice, even her cranky one (a shy, old smile grew on Tinas face by the memory of Bettes voice)I miss hugging her warm pillow just after she left in the morning, finding her scent welcoming me… I miss holding her hand not thinking about it once I miss cooking for her.. I know thats silly and not very century twenty one but I loved cooking for her, I loved being there for her..I love knowing that as sitty as her day was the look on her face always softened somehow the moment she looked at me..
Shane was listening quietly, nodding, trying to support Tinas memories but she was noticing how tiny fat tears were rolling, slowly, down Tinas cheeks.
and now I dont know Shane as much as I love the letter she wrote to me, as much as I know that her words were honest, as much as I know she loves me and as much as I know I love her all I can think about when my eyes are close and I lay in bed at night is about those other times.those times when our kisses were dry and timid with the only taste of our daily routine those silences, thick as wood that camped between us when we didnt know how to simply communicate, the anguish I used to feel every time I stretched my arm to get hers only to find she was not in bed with me,that I was alone,…the acid taste of the tears I cried the last night I saw her, when I noticed the scratches on her tights, scratches that I didnt draw, that others put there…the cold that invaded me when I knew I was alone and then Zoe and Julia
Noticing through her watery eyes the look on Shanes face, Tina sweetly smiling, nodded, adding,
those were the names we chose for the kids we wanted to have and now now that am pregnant some memories cool me at night
Shane, quietly moved her hand to take Tinas in hers, holding it tight, assuring her, loving her.
Tina, shyly smiling nodded, trying to comfort her anguished friend.
Shane knew that words were meaningless, sometimes facts were much more powerful and she also knew that Tina didnt need comforting lies, or comforting words, she needed a holing hand and that was what she was going to get.
Lets go Teeyou have to see something
