    It’s opening night for Bette’s showing at the gallery and a suprise visitor attends

    It had been almost 2 months since Tina and Bette talked about Bettes nightmare and thankfully she had not had one since. They were living in their old house, spending long weekends at Bettes beach house. While Bette was not on strict bed rest Dr. Wilson had recommended that she limit the time she spend on her feet. A couple of Bettes artist friends had helped her set up her workspace in the redone living room and she was able to continue her painting, sitting while working instead of her usual standing. Her opening at the gallery was happening that evening and to say she was nervous was an understatement. She had been cranky since she woke up that morning, something that had not gone unnoticed by Tina.

    Tina: Baby, you need to relax. Youre going to drive yourself crazy and the opening is hours away. Is there anything I can do?

    Bette, with an edge to her voice: Yes, you can stop telling me to relax, alright?
    Tina just stared at her, raising an eyebrow, almost answering her but changing her mind at the last minute.

    Tina: Ill be outside by the pool if you want to talk. She slowly walked away, leaving Bette to stare at the place she had been.

    Bette: *****! Im such an *****. Bette strode quickly to the French doors leading out to the pool and sat down next to Tina who was on a lounge chair by the pool.
    Bette took hold of Tinas hand and gently started to rub her thumb across the top of Tinas hand.

    Bette: Im sorry T. This opening has me all tied up in knots. I think I just realized why.

    Tina: Hmmm
    Bette: Youre not going to make this easy on me are you? Please dont be mad.
    Tina opened her eyes and looked directly at Bette.

    Tina: Im waiting for your explanation. Then Ill decide if I should cut you some slack.
    Tina smiled and Bette knew that Tina wasnt really mad, and was just busting her chops.

    Bette: Seriously T, this whole opening is reminding me so much of Provocations its just dredging up all the old memories. My life fell apart after that opening and it has taken all this time to put it back together. I dont want anything to go wrong tonight.

    Tina: Bette, have you had any affairs lately?

    Bette: What, are you out of your mind? I think I learned my lesson the last time, and besides Im in no condition to have an affair. Im 7 months pregnant for cripes sake.

    Tina: You are so hot and ***** pregnant. Its a pity you dont realize it.
    Bette: Youre just saying that because you have to.

    Tina: Yeah, right, thats why weve been ***** like rabbits lately. Its because Im obligated to keep you happy. You are really impossible. So, you havent answered my question.

    Bette: Yes I did.

    Tina: No you didnt. Its a yes/no question.

    Bette: No!

    Tina: Good, neither have I so we have nothing to worry about tonight. See how simple that was? Now go put on your bathing suit so we can go for a swim before we have to get ready.

    Bette: ***** the bathing suit. Your hot, ***** and very pregnant wife doesnt need one! Bette stripped quickly out of her clothes and stepped slowly into the pool. Tina watched, in awe. Bette really was unbelievably *****, even at 7 months.

    Bette splashed water onto Tina.
    Bette: Are you coming in or what? I need you to help me relax.

    Tina: Now thats an invitation I cant refuse.

    They spent the rest of the afternoon making love in the pool, by the pool, and in every part of the house between the pool and their bedroom. They finally made their way into the bathroom to shower and get ready for Bettes big night.

    They arrived at the gallery early, to partake in a pre-opening cocktail party. Bette was greeted by James, her former secretary, who now managed the gallery.

    James: Bette, you look fantastic. How are you feeling?

    Bette: Good James, I wanted to thank you for making the setup of my show so easy. I know it must have been difficult with me not being able to be here as much as I should have.

    James: No worries boss lady, besides Tina made it easy. Your love and talent for art really wore off on her. She has a great eye for detail. I think youll be pleased with the way all your paintings are shown. Let me walk you through the gallery so you can see.
    As they toured the art gallery Bette could see that James was right. He and Tina had done a wonderful job with the mounting and lighting of her paintings. She stopped in front of the series of her and Tina. It looked magnificent.

    Bette: James, everything is perfect. Thank you so much.
    James: Bette, I think were both going to make a bundle of money tonight, so dont thank me. I should be thanking you. Lets go mingle with the other guests.

    Peggy: So, see I was right. See what happens when you remove your head from ***** and start living again. The opening is going to be a big hit, youve got your Tina back and in a few months youre going to have a baby.

    Bette: As usual you were right, and you saved my ***** once again. Im not sure I can ever thank you properly.

    Peggy: Seeing you so happy is thanks enough. That and the fact that youre back dressing properly. Nice power suit, what happened to hippy Bette and her dirty jeans?

    Bette: The suit is a one night event Peggy, Im happy in my jeans and t-shirt. Lay off will ya?

    Peggy: Of course dear. Now I must go see that nice looking young man over there.

    The cocktail hour was over and the opening was in full swing. Bette was being inundated with questions about her work. She was being pulled in a million directions. She needed to find Tina and spend some time with her so she could re-group and calm down. Her eyes wondered over the crowd and finally settled on Tina who was greeting a woman that had her back to Bette. Bette watched with interest as Tina gave the woman a hug and then a kiss, lingering a bit too long on the womans lips for Bettes taste. Bette began to get an uneasy feeling as she continued to watch the two women interact with one another. There was no doubt about it; these two were more than just friends. As Bette was lost in thought a man bumped into the woman and she slowly turned around trying to recover. At that moment Bette felt her world crashing in around her. The womans face was now directly in her line of sight.

    Bette: What the ***** is Tina doing with Candace?

Bette has given so much to show that what she did was wrong. I hope that you post another chapter sooner than later. this just ins’t right at all.

    26. I’m a B&T fan too but what kicks me is the fact that Bette almost died, Tina became a HO (of sorts) and life has come back together…why Candace? If you had only written they were talking or a brief hug then this would be OK…but why a lingering kiss…Candace alone is not bad but not this again…I can’t believe anything can explain it…Tina should have left Bette alone if this is the case…you know how to shake us up chase and you are one of the best when it comes to the ride…kick ass girl…no matter if we like the storyline or not…you fucking rock!!!!!!!! 5
