    what if …(LV)

It was Saturday again. Tina and Bette woke up late, lazily staying in bed till it was almost no time for them to get ready. As the days were passing Bette was loving seeing Tina getting bigger, the way her body was changing, how her face was changing, how her soft pale skin was softening even more, how her walk changed with each new day. The shape of her hips, her legs, but mostly her belly and her breast. Her colabone wasnt as bony as it was once , it was rounded and softer, to Bette even more sexier.

Every time they had the opportunity they stayed in bed a bit longer. It was usually a time for Tina to relax reading a book while Bette, almost always, just laid down at her side, placing her hand or even her face on Tinas belly, loving the touch, the feeling. Other times they just lay lazily in bed, caressing each other, talking. These days they were talking none stop, about the babies, about Bettes new job, about books, movies, their friends They were just talking about some book Alice mentioned the day before when Tinas cell sounded. Picking it up Tina noticed how late it was, Alice and Dana were going to pick them up in fifteen minutes. Checking her cell Tina noticed it wasnt a call, it was a message. After reading it she told Bette, who was caressing Tinas belly lost in her thoughts,

They are not picking us, something about a call for Dana Helen willin ten minutes!

Bette looked at Tina, confused, then, as Tina jumped off the bed, she said,

Where is Shane, how come she didnt wake us?

I think she left early this morning, am sure she will see us there Tina answered, walking to the bathroom.

    ***
Alice and Dana were, after all, the first to arrive. Alice, always the adventurous, knew how to break in, so they didnt wait for the others. She showed Dana the place, the old factory that was just perfect for the art collection. Tina, Bette and Helen arrived just a few minutes later and just as they were entering Shane parked her car, having Greta with her.

Tina, always the thoughtful one brough everything theyd need for the pic nic. It has been Bettes idea and Helen loved it, they were going to celebrate finding the place and showing it to their friends.

They all loved it, wandering around Alice pointed out all the possibilities, as if a real state agent was possessing her. Helen and Bette followed, nodding while Dana, Tina, and Greta praised the place. Shane just nodded, agreeing.

Tina, Shane and Greta brought in the food from the cars. It was an easy pic nic, chicken, salads, beers, sodas and some fruit. As they were enjoying their meal, Alice, somehow started telling the story of a guy from the paper that was getting married. The conversation move from that to relationships and finding the right person, to weddings, funerals and other big events.

Funerals make me sick said Dana, looking a bit embarrash.

Yeah me too, I always get sick, always puke shyly added Greta.

I always wash my hair many times when am nervousand I always puke when I have to attend a wake added Dana, looking down.

Hopefully the hair washing goes after puking Alice said, teasing Dana.

I just get drunk, at weddings and funeralsend up puking too I guess added Helen, making every body to smile.

    I hate weddings added Alice

I love weddings, they are very romantic said Tina, smiling.

    Weddings depress me whispered Helen.

Me too nonchalantly added Shane, surprising her friends.

Thank god we have Xmas Day and New Years cause with you guys might be difficult to find a celebration we could all enjoy together said Bette, smiling.

Well, Porter, technically a Funeral or a wake is not what we could call a celebration pointed Alice.

It all depends on where you are said Helen, making Greta nod in agreement.

Yeahyou shoud go to an Irish funeralthey are great Helen said, smiling.

    Dana nodded, trying to imaging.

Well, but weddings now are much more about the show than the relationship, I dont think they are what they should be said Greta, serving some salad on her plate.

Yeah well, relationships are not what they should be added Shane, to no one in particular.

Alice, always the big mouth said, to every bodys amusement,

Its always the same, if they are not ***** they are married or in a relationshipif they are ***** they have just broken up with the most wonderful woman in the world (tries not to look at Dana, who not very successfully was trying to act nonchalantly), or they just have broken up with a real ***** who looked exactly like meor if nothing like that.. then they are just a man pretending to be a woman, pretending to be a *****

Tina, Bette and Shane were smiling at Alices words while Helen and Greta looked around, trying to get what she was talking about. Seeing that no one was explaining anything, Greta added,

yeahand then when you find the right person, or the one you think is the right person she just says that they are in transition, that they need space, that they dont want to commit,.. and you agree cause you like the person and when you do that then they want to commit but dont want to get too close

Yeah, and whats too close? If you want to commit, then I dont see the meaning of too close said Dana, nodding, voicing her thoughts.

Yeah and then the sexwhen you finally find the one with whom you have the bext ***** ever then you find out about her real self, a drug addict, a nimfomaniac, family issuesor when you find the most perfect creature then the ***** is not so good added Alice, taking a bite from her chicken leg.

***** is not that important whispered Tina, sipping her soda.

Nothing is more important than ***** added Alice, looking at Shane.

You really think so? Asked Dana, looking at Alice, trying to hide something that didnt go unnoticed to the rest of them.

Alice, noticing every body waiting for her answer was going to answer when Shanes voice was heard,

***** is just sexis different when instead of ***** you making love

Tina, smiling, looked at Shane. Bette nodded while Dana, still looking at Alice didnt move a muscle. Greta looked at Tina and Bette for a few seconds and then turning to look at Shane, smiled. Helen, looking at the food opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by Bette, who looking at the grapes, picking them, said,

Yeah, and then you have the right *****, the love, the right personand then you ***** it up

Bettes words surprised everyone, making Dana, looked at Tina and then back at Bette. Alice, Greta, and Helen looked uneasy while Shane, looking at Bette waited for her to continue.

Yeah, but even then, is better to have lost than to never have loved added Helen, briefly looking at Tina, something that didnt go unnoticed to Alice.

The tension, the deep thoughts that were running in all of their heads could be touched, felt by all of them,

God guys, is this a funeral or what? Alice said, standing up walking around, looking at the girls.

We are celebrating right? she said fakinly smiling at Dana who was still confused by her previous statetment.

Yes we are added Greta standing up, walking to the big dirty glass window, looking through it.

Dana, Bette, Tina, Shane and Helen all followed her steps, standing up, walking around, trying to release the tension.

Guys, lets make a toast suddenly said Tina, taking her glass, looking at her friends.

They all walked to pick up their glasses, looking at Tina.

For new beginnings, for old friends, for new ones, for good mistakes and for forgotten ones Tina, said rising her glass.

And for the babies added Greta, to a nodding agreement.

They all drank their glasses and as they were putting them down, leaning into Bette, Tina whispered, to her ears only,

You know you are all that, right?

Tinas words surprised her, making her to think about the toast, drawing a smile on her face and she understood what Tina was telling her.
