A Few Weeks Later…

The Center

Alice and Tina sat together at a table near the play area in The Center. Ambrosia, Nylan, and Dana were playing with the kids; Tina had recruited Nylan who convinced Dana who invited Ambrosia to come by and mentor some of the kids. Dana and Nylan fell right into a comfortable place while Ambrosia was a little uneasy around the children. They had stopped by this morning because everyone would be getting ready for Bette’s art show this afternoon. Alice was turning it into a big event, her, Tina and Ambrosia were going to a spa together while Dana, Nylan, and Shane did some bonding. Ambrosia had been accepted into their group of friends by everyone except for Nylan, who had her own reasons. The others were happy for Shane to find someone she could care about and she really did care about Ambrosia. After getting the disturbing visit from Cherie, Shane went home to Ambrosia and cried all night while her girlfriend, yes her girlfriend held her tightly;seeing Cherie like that opened up the emotional side of Shane. Shane opened up to Ambrosia telling her of the life her and Nylan led before venturing to LA.

“Look at her she’s so good with these kids” Tina said staring at Nylan. Alice was watching Dana play with a little boy.

“Yeah and Dana too…who would have thunk it,” Alice turned to Tina who hadn’t taken her eyes off of Nylan, “You really care for her don’t you” Tina looked at Alice.

“I think I’m in love with her Alice” Alice’s eyes widened.

“What …have you told her I mean…” she questioned.

“I said it like once…well we both actually said it” Tina admitted.

“Nylan…in love…well the way she follows you around its obvious…I’ve never seen her act that way about anyone else…*****” Alice saw Nylan approaching the table so she cut her comments short.

“What are you two talking about” she asked looking back and forth between Tina and Alice.

“Nothing” they both agreed.

“Uh…huh…so are you guys ready to go” One of the kids Nylan was playing with walked up behind her.

“Nylan you can’t go until you give me the back ride you promised me” the boy said tugging on Nylan’s shirt. Nylan didn’t think twice as she knealt down to let the boy hop onto her back wishing she had someone to give her back rides when she was his age. Tina smiled as Nylan lifted Omar, the little boy, onto her neck and he covered her eyes causing Nylan to walk into a wall.


CAC

Bette paced back and forth in her office thinking and rethinking everything that she had done, making sure she hadn’t missed anything. James walked into the office and stared at his boss and Bette turned to him with a confident look.

“Why don’t you go home and I’ll take care of everything else” Bette nodded as she grabbed her things and headed out of the door to her car. She pulled out her phone and called Candace.

“Hey…look I know its kind of last minute but would you accompany me tonight at the show…I know you said we should end this but …what…you have a date who…I’m sorry its none of my business…bye” Bette opened the door and hoped banging her head against the steering wheel. She drove home thinking that her life couldn’t possibly come even more fucked up at this point but then she seen Jenny’s smiling face as she pulled into her driveway ‘what the ***** is she so happy about’ Bette thought.

“Hi…Jenny” Bette forced a smile, “where have you been?”. Jenny continued to blind Bette with her smile.

“Well I’ve been traveling with Robin” Bette tried to remember who Robin was exactly.

“Oh…the circus lady” Jenny nodded. Bette turned and walked towards the front door and Jenny followed.

“Where’s Tina?” Jenny asked cluelessly. Bette sighed at the thought of having to explain the whole ordeal.

“Come in Jenny” she said sadly.

The Spa

“I wonder what Dana’s doing” Alice asked and Tina and Ambrosia looked at her.

“Come on Al this whole bonding thing was your idea and you’re already missing Dana…suck it up you’ll see her in a few hours” Tina said and Ambrosia laughed. They were presently getting pedicures while on the other side of town…


“*****!!!!!” Dana screamed and Shane and Nylan squinted at the sound of their friend’s squeal. A few minutes later Dana emerged red with anger and pain.

“Butt waxing…its a ***** ain’t it Dane” Nylan groaned slapping Dana on the ***** purposely. Shane tried to hide her laughter by covering her face.

The Spa

“So…Ambrosia I’m guessing you and Shane have sealed the deal” Ambrosia glared at Alice but she was smiling on the inside.

“Al…have you no shame” Tina exclaimed slapping Alice on her thigh.

“Come on you guys…I have to live vicariously through you two…Shane and Nylan I know they’re great in bed so just spill it I promise I won’t tell a soul” Alice pleaded with the both of them. Tina and Ambrosia looked at each other and smiled.

“Okay but if you repeat this I swear…” Tina said.

A Boutique

“Javier” Nylan hugged the man and he kissed both of her cheeks. Javier stood back and looked at Dana and Shane as they stared back at the well dressed man.

“Who are your friends” Javier spoke his voice with a slight Spanish accent as he directed his attention to Shane. Nylan raised an eyebrow and Shane sighed knowing exactly what Javier was thinking. Dana laughed at the look on Shane’s face realizing that Javier thought Shane was a dude.

“This is Shane…she’s…a hairdresser…the best” Javier moved closer to Shane to inspect the woman, “and this is Dana…the tennis phenom” Nylan said with a dramatic flair. Javier extended his hand to the both of them.

“What can I do for you ladies” Javier said as he clasped both his hands together.

“Well we’re going to the show at CAC tonight and we need something to wear” Javier called for two of his assistants.

“Yes I may be making an appearance myself,Claire you take Dana’s measurements and Jessie you take Nylan’s, I’ll help Shane…now let’s undress ladies” Nylan took off her shirt and dropped her jeans leaving her in her under garments while Dana looked at Shane who was just as embarrassed, a first for Shane.

The Spa

“It’s like a wave thing she does with her tongue” Tina admitted and Alice looked on even more interested while Ambrosia nodded knowlingly.

“Yeah and Shane…she does this adorable biting her lip thing when she’s coming and she stu…” Tina interrupted Ambrosia.

“Stutters…oh my god Nylan does too sometimes” Tina high fived Ambrosia as they all joined in and laughed. Ambrosia regained her composure and turned to Alice.

“So Alice…” she said.

“What…oh no if Dana found out she would kill me and that was not the deal here” Tina rolled her eyes at Alice.

“Whatever Alice tell us we told you something” Alice sighed as she began.

“Okay…”

The Boutique

Dana kept looking down at Claire, the woman that was on her knees in front of her but when Claire glanced up, Dana would stare at the ceiling.

“You’re Dana Fairbanks aren’t you” Claire asked and Dana jumped with excitement which caused a pin to stick into her flesh.

“Ouch…yeah that’s me” Claire continued to alter Dana’s pants smiling to herself ‘maybe I’ll ask for her autograph or..’ Javier’s screams shook Claire from her thoughts.

“Hold still…I’m ***** sticking myself” Javier whined.

“Hurry up man” Shane was growing impatient with Javier picking at the clothing, “who’s idea was this anyway oh yeah Al…remind me to thank her”. Nylan looked at Shane and laughed, she was used to this.

“Your friend is a little impatient” Jessie said from behind Nylan as she squeezed her *****. Nylan didn’t respond she just kept her head forward, “How come you never called…I really thought we had something” she whispered sexily. Nylan’s cellphone rang and she thanked the gods because she didn’t want go down that road again.

“Gotta take this you know could be important” Nylan walked to the opposite side of the room but Jessie was still staring at her so she turned towards the wall.

“What’s with all the dark colors” Javier asked Shane.

“I don’t know…I just like black” Shane sighed and rolled his eyes.

“I think we need to brighten up your wardrobe a bit” Jessie came out with an array of colorful shirts for Shane. Shane looked over her sunglasses at the clothes.

“Uh…uh” was all she said.

“I hear what you’re saying but now is not the time I’ve got a lot going on at this moment…yeah I know I promise I’ll call you back…yes tonight…bye” Nylan hung up the phone, she had to take care of this before Tina or anyone else found out.
