Tina smiled at Bettes tease about not waiting until they got home and she considered stirring the pot, so to speak, but she opted to reach over and give Bette a kiss on the cheek.

I guess Ill have to settle for that right now Tina said as she laughed.

I still cant believe you are sitting here with me Bette said. Have I mentioned that I love you?

Yes baby Tina said. But you can say it all you want because I love hearing it.

I love you Bette said softly as she leaned over to whisper in Tinas ear. I love you, I love you.

I love you too Tina said softly. Im so happy that I am here with you. Good thing my mother is a wise woman.

I owe her big time Bette said smiling.

Once she made me realize what I was doing, I couldnt wait to get to the airport so I could find you, but you werent there. Tina said.

I almost didnt make the flight Bette said. I had a flat on the way to the airport and had to have them come and pick me up.

Thats funny Tina said. When I called them to see if you had turned in the rental car they said that you were turning the car in at a hub in a different state.

They must have made a mistake Bette said. It must have been fate for me to make this flight so I could be with you. You know you had me going there for a minute with your notes. I couldnt imagine who on earth would be sending me a note.

So you liked my notes? Tina asked.

Yes. Especially the last one Bette said. When I read those words I couldnt believe what I was reading.

I had to get you alone to let you know I was on the plane Tina said. When I got on the plane, I thought you were driving back to LA because of what the rental car agency told me and when I tried to call you on your cell phone, to ask if you would come and get me, but I didnt get an answer. So I decided to get on the plane and go home and wait for you. I just happened to see you on the plane when you dropped a magazine and reached over to pick it up. That is when I came up with the idea of writing you the notes. I didnt want our reunion to be in the middle of the aisle of the plane.

Have I mentioned just how much I love you? Bette said.

I seem to recall hearing I love you Tina said softly teasing Bette.

T I mean it. Bette said. I love you more than you will ever know and I am never going to take that for granted again.

Thats good Tina said. We both need to make sure that it never happens again.

The pilot came on to announce that they would be landing in just a few minutes and asked the stewardess to prepare the cabin for landing. In no time at all the plane was on the ground and shortly thereafter Bette and Tina were walking out of the airport holding hands. They made their way to the car, loaded up their bags in the car and got in. Bette started to reach over and start the car but stopped.

Oh Bette said. I forgot something

What baby? Tina asked.

This Bette said as she reached over and pulled Tina close to her and began to kiss her with a desperate hunger.

They were devouring each other mouths, their tongues thrusting, meeting and entwining. The first kiss went on for several long minutes before they pulled back to catch a breath.

Ive missed being able to do that Bette said softly as she reached in and started to kiss Tina again but this time it was at a slower pace.

This kiss was a mixture of love and passion with her passion taking second place. She loved the feel of Tinas lips under hers and she loved the way she tasted and she made sure that Tina felt it with her kiss. Bette broke off the loving kiss only to start to place gentle kisses on Tinas face and on her neck before she made her way back up to Tinas mouth. When her mouth made contact with Tinas this time, her desire flared and she kissed Tina with all of the passion she was feeling. They were on fire for each other and each one of them tried to show the other just how much they wanted the other one. Bette started to slowly break off the kiss because she knew if she didnt, that they were going to wind up making love in the car.

Weve got to stop Bette said trying to catch her breath.

What if I dont want to? Tina murmured as she leaned in to try and kiss Bette again.

Baby if we dont stop, you know what is going to happen Bette said softly as she gently kissed Tinas lips. Lets go home and we will take up where we left off.

Okay Tina said as she reached to pull Bettes mouth to hers. How about one more kiss for the road?

Bette let Tina pull her in for a long kiss but she kept her passion in check. When they broke apart she reached up a gently ran her finger down Tinas face and then gently kissed her lips one last time.

Bette laughed at Tinas words and upon hearing Bettes laughter Tina laughed too.

Ive missed that too Bette said.

Whats that baby? Tina asked.

Hearing you laugh Bette said. I love to hear you laughing because when you laugh I know you are happy.

Bette reached over and started the car and headed towards the house. When they got home Tina started to get out of the car but Bette reached out and gently grabbed her arm to stop her.

T Bette said. Before we go in there is something I need to say to you. I want to be clear about something before we go back in the house and start trying to put our lives back together.

Okay Tina said.

Tina I know what I have done to our lives and I am so grateful to have you here with me Bette said. But I know that we still have some tough work ahead of us. I want you to know that I am going to continue going to therapy to work on my control issues. I wished that I could promise you that everything was going to perfect but you and I both know that it is unrealistic. I want you to know that I am going to do everything within my power to help you to learn to trust me again. I know we have to learn to communicate again and I need to know that we are both going to keep each other informed if we are falling back in to old habits. I can promise you that I will never take our love for granted again because it almost cost me the thing that is most important in my life, you. I love you and I only want to be with you.

Tina sat there listening to Bettes words and she knew beyond any doubt that she had made the right decision in coming home. She wasnt wearing rose colored glasses about their relationship. She knew too that they had a rough road ahead of them but she believed that they both wanted and were willing to work on it.

I love you too Tina said. I know that we have a lot of work ahead of us and I know that we both want this to work. I am glad you are going to continue to see the therapist and if you want me to go with you at some point you know I will go with you. I warn you though, that I may drive you crazy if I am feeling insecure and I have to say this up front. If you ever turn to someone else, there will be no going back for me. Ive had my heart tromped on once and I am willing to fight for what we have, but if you take that road again than our love isnt what I thought it was.

Bette sat there with tears in her eyes thinking about just how much she had hurt Tina and yet at the same time she knew how lucky she was to be getting a second chance.

Im sorry that I hurt you Bette said. I

Stop Tina said interrupting. I believe that you are sorry for what you did. You just need to show me that you love me and we can do this.

Okay Bette said feeling relieved upon hearing Tinas words that she believes she is sorry. If its okay with you, Id like to go in now so I can start the part of showing you how much I love you.

I dont know. That might be a hardship on me Tina said trying to hide her laughter.

Oh Bette said picking up on Tinas hint of laughter. Well I wouldnt want to do anything that might be a hardship on you.

Lets go Porter Tina said. Right now

Okay Bette said laughing as she got out of the car and shut the door. The things I do for love.
