    6 Months- chapter 18

As she reached the front door, she realized that her body was on the verge of collapse.  She had driven here, but the sprint to the door had left her body screaming for a respite from this endless cycle of utter torment.

She knocked at the door and waited for the response.

Kit heard the knock and made her way to the door.  As she opened the door, the sight in front of her was something that she had never dreamed she would see.  In front of her stood a shell of the woman that had been her sister’s partner for the last seven and a half years, a mere glimpse of the woman that she used to be.

“Baby girl,“ she started to say, but was quickly cut off.

    “Where is she, Kit?”

“Tina”, she said, “Please come inside”.

Without moving, she said, “Kit, I need to know where she is.”

Kit looked at her and knew that trying to be rational with Tina was out of the question.  She was a lost soul, grasping at any sort of link to reality that her frail mind could hold onto.

“Baby, she’s gone” Kit said with sadness.

“I know that.  What I need to know is where she is” Tina responded in a lost way.

“Tina, I swore to Bette that I would keep this between her and me.  Now, you don’t expect me to break that promise, do you?”

“Kit, this is between Bette and me now.  Please, please, please” she cried, “I will beg if I have to.  Please Kit, just tell me where she is.”

Kit looked at Tina and knew that she could not come between these two women.  She had made a promise to Bette, but that was a promise made before she saw what was in front of her.  Bette would never expect her to withhold this information from Tina, right?  I mean, Tina of all people?  If she knew the state that Tina was in?

She took one last stab at it and said, “Baby, are you sure that you want to know?”

“Kit, my life depends on this.  Bette’s life, I would like to think, depends on this.  Now please, where is she?”

Kit shifted the weight from one foot to the other and said, “Hold on one minute, I think that I have an address here somewhere.”

Tina remained in the doorway, still numb, but waiting for the information that she knew that she had to have.

Kit took longer than Tina would have liked, but when she returned, she had a piece of paper in her hand that she slowly passed to Tina.

“I swear, this is all I have.  I think that’s the address of the gallery that she is working on getting opened, but I don’t know anything else.”

Tina looked at her and drank up just that little bit of information, drank it up like someone who had not quenched their thirst in months.  Eager to hear more, but knowing that Kit knew nothing else as to what Bette was doing in New York, Tina turned to leave.

    “Tina?” Kit asked tentatively.

Tina slowly turned back around, not responding, letting her expression speak for her.

“What is it that you want with Bette?”

“I want her back, Kit” is all she said.

    With that, she walked away.

She now knew where to find Bette.

Her only intention to try to make up for all of the lost time.  Lost time, lost emotions, lost life.  To once again reclaim what was hers.

The only question being, was there anything left to reclaim?

    Comments

    1. I am glad too see that our girl is on her way. I can’t wait for the chapter for Tina waiting out side the gallery early morning waiting for Bette to arrive. Excellent

    2. I have never commented before today, and i’ve been reading the stories posted at this site faithfully since I found it, but this story has forced me to comment. Like Temp. brain lapse stated I keep hitting the refresh button, hoping that you’ve posted yet another wonderfully tortureous chapter! I don’t think I can handle much more, but I keep coming back. I’ll keep hitting the refresh button until a) I fall asleep or b) another chapter is posted! Keep up the fantastic job!

    3. Thanks so much for posting this tonight. I was asking my self how could some one write the last 2 chapters and be able to fall to sleep. Excellent. Now we know that Tina is on her way. With Bette letter in hand. Keeping our fingers crossed for them to see each other and start anew.

    4. Thank goodness Bette didn’t take Ashley or whatever her name is up on her ‘dinner’ invitation.
Sometimes you have to totally let go and see what happens. The makeup sex should be tremendous. Ahem…

    5. Whoa I dont think I can wait until the end. You are great. I am enjoying reading the stories on fan fiction, because I know when the series starts again, I am not going to be happy with Bette & tina not together. So you go girl

    6. This is too good!! I mean your style of writing amazes me…I’m standing right next to the character that it’s happening too…Like the others I keep pressing the refresh button…I want more..I’m addicted!!

    7. You go, Tina! Go get your woman back, damn it! Hey skipton..you don’t need to sleep, right? You’re gonna post another chapter or two, right? I kinda need my ‘6 months’ fix..

    8. IS tina in the right state of mind to get on and airplane, and if she does what happens to that state of mind when she’s in standing in front of bette. DO she finally collapse. Are can she handle it with out breaking down? Really amazing. Post soon

    9. “You Got Me Goin’In Circles”

“Techie’s on the corner now. If you wanna be a junkie, wow. Remember, Freddie’s dead.”

      “Don’t Leave Me This Way”

“Love Jones I got a Love Jones for youuuu….”
Damn, you got me singin’ on here. Do I have to beg for another chapter?
      Help a poor reader out!

    10. I love the way you have portrayed Tina having her realize that she also made a mistake. I hope that Tina doesn’t get to NYC and get the wrong impression since Bette has been “faithful” to her all this time!

    11. I’m having a hard time finding the words to tell you what this story does to me…so emotional, so intense and yet beautiful in it’s own right…I’m hoping that there won’t be any additional angst between them (new lovers) they have enough to deal with…you are amazing…thank you for the continuous updates…hoping there will be many more to come…and soon:)

    12. I have no idea how long you intend to carry us through this one hell of a roller coaster journey. Lots of drama that’s for sure cliff hangers are a plenty too. I know you can write that’s for sure and boy can you tease us readers. But I must say that lots of true blue Tina fans might not take too kindly of the portrayal of a really fragile on the brink of a total breakdown and brittle Tina. So next episode please give Tina some strength …
      As always… brilliant writing!

    13. Poor Tina. She is such a mess.Hopefully,Tina can pull herself together, fly to NY,kick Ansley aside, sweep Bette off the ground and finally make up sex. Sound like a plan to me.Mind if I ask what time zone are you in,Skipton?
