    World Weary: Part One

    World Weary
    Part One

Marina sighed as she laid her head on her desk in her office, waiting for Jennys call. Hoping Jenny will call her or confront her. Somehow, in back of her mind, either of the options were highly doubtful, Marina thought grimly as her jaw clenched in pain. She knew that she played the game too far and pushed Jenny to her limit. Falling in love is rare one for her and the chances of finding the right one was almost impossible.

But Marina shrugged carelessly, ” Who knew Jenny would be the one.” she chuckled mirthlessly. She twirled in her chair, staring at the blank wall as her mind and heart warred, either telling her to go back to her old ways or hoping the love is within her reach and hoping its not too late. But her mind won, she frowned as her feelings sank into depression. She has lost everything except her Planet but owning a business is lonely and wouldnt satisfy her want to be loved and to be happy. Marina thought she was destined to be alone. Who knew she had feelings, the only person she couldnt have had awakened them.

Marina reached and turned off her desk light. She walked out of her office and stood middle of her place, giving the last look around. She knew she would miss this place and leaving the envelope on the counter. She walked out and turned back to lock the door.
Marina laid her head on the glass door and putting her hand on the door by saying goodbye. She turned back to the darkness, walked straight to it. Her shadows dissolved into the darkness and disappeared without a murmur.

Marina standing front with her back to Jenny which shes sitting on a sand dune, far enough to not touch but close enough to see. Winds whipped Marinas long brown hair and her brown eyes filled with sadness and love as she turns away from the ocean to see Jenny watching her. Marina smiled slightly in acknowledgement. Marina turned around and walked slowly into the ocean and finally her head disappeared into the ocean. Jenny sat there and shrugged as Marina disappeared from her view. Jenny smiled coldly as she stared into other identical blue/green eyes of the ghost Jenny, she stood in fear, next where ghost Jenny sat.

“Urgh”, Jenny suddenly sat up drenched in sweat. Jenny panted, not liking the dream. “Marina.” Jenny whispered, wondering if Marinas okay. She glanced at two sleeping figures, wondering what choice will she make but knowing either one way or other, she will lose Marina or Robin. She gnawed her bottom lip in thought; one thought came clear to her. She stood up from small couch and walked out of her garage apartment. She disappeared into the dawning morning as the door slammed shut behind her.

    ****************

Sunlight shining through the window, a rumpled figure covered in blankets. She grimaced and started to sit up on the couch. Tina glanced at the closed door where Alice is sleeping.

She knew that she couldnt avoid the reality. She covered her face in her hands and wanting to forget what happened last night. Pain and anguish she felt which she wanted to get rid of but couldnt.

Tina chuckled bitterly, seeing today is a beautiful day and providing the idea of fresh start of day. But memories and betrayal pestered her thoughts and feelings. She sighed and her body protested as she stood up.
How typical she thought since she had painful ***** with Bette. She closed her eyes in pain and she realized its the first time she thought of Bette. Last night she was filled with anger and pain, she wasnt thinking clearly. Thoughts of Bette had managed to be excluded her last night until now.
Tina realized that in the first time in her life, she had no idea of what she is going to do or how to put her life back together.

” Oh *****.” She said aloud and she sat back heavily on the couch. Tina hung her head miserably and wanting to go back to sleep, just to shut out the world and her problems. So she did that. She snuggled back into the blankets and fell into a dreamless sleep.

    *********************

Bette sat stonily on the couch in their living room. Soon, she thought grimly, I will get Tina back. Dammit, everything had spun out of her control. She looked outside, seeing the pool as the loneliness washed over her. This house has too many memories. Bette struggled to hold back her tears and trying to conceal her emotions inside of her. She began to remember the memories as it played like a movie: Tinas brown eyes sparkling with tears as they took their vows, Tinas eyes filled with mischief when she pushed Bette into their swimming pool, the laughter and talking filled the air when they hung out with Shane, Alice, and Dana; the emotions they shared when they first made love.

Stupid. Why, why did I ***** it up, Bette blamed herself of being afraid to tell Tina that shes not strong enough to carry burdens or being weak. In a way Bette punished Tina of being able to move on, not needing her enough, or having her own life. Bette rubbed her face wearily. She couldnt do this anymore; she felt that she needed to make some changes in her life. Bette reluctantly admitted to herself that she need to talk to someone who can be objective about the whole thing, meaning a therapist.

The body curled up in a ball, shivering in cold and her mind filled with haze. Her messy black hair covered her face, Shane grunted and bought her hands to push her hair away from her face. Shane grimaced as she stretched out, her feet hitting the window.
“*****” Shane said, not remembering how or what she did to cause her to sleep in her truck. But nausea overcame her, now Shane remembered that feeling. She quickly opened the door and kneeled on the ground as she heaved whatever was in her system. She wiped her mouth and looked out to nowhere, seeing that shes in a desert.

“Oh *****” Shane recognized the situation she had gotten herself in, finding herself in an unknown area. Her mind searched trying to remember any memory of what she did last night. As usual, the answer came up blank but her green eyes filled with the determination of finding a way to go home.

    *****************

“Unbelievable, unbelievable” Alice moaned in her sleep. What was the ***** I thinking, Alice thought as her eyes opened as she stared at the ceiling. As she tried to shut her thoughts out, but she knew she couldnt avoid it any longer. She thought at first for kissing Dana would shock her and make her realize what stupid mistake shes making. But the unexpected came, the kiss made her feel something that she didnt expect to feel: passion and a strong attraction to her best friend.

Alice rubbed her eyes and sighed. The best thing for now, try to retain the friendship with Dana and helping Tina with whatever shes going through. Alice is determined to find out whats wrong with Tina. She grimaced slightly as she thought of avoiding the issue of attraction with Dana. The relationships around her are falling apart.
“*****,” she muttered, as she noticed everything is a mess.

    *****************

Dana sitting in her chair, stunned. She looked out of the window, seeing everything is quiet and peaceful. Uncertain of everything, Dana frowned. Since the mess with Lara, everything went downhill and she wasnt thinking clear enough to notice the mess she got herself in. The engagement with Tonya who she barely knows, the weirdness with Alice, the pain of losing Lara, and the estrangement with her parents. Dana grunted as she stood up, feeling the need to take a shower and head over to the club for her practice. Dana hoped that the practice could help her forget everything for a while. She needed it

Bright sunlight shining through countless windows, the reflections scattered across the rooms Marina walked into her house. She wearily looked around, not wanting to think.
Im so tired, I dont care anymore. Just want to shut out the world, Marina thought as she trudged upstairs. Glancing at her bathroom, she started to peel off her clothes. She left the trail of her scattered clothing as she entered her bathroom. Standing stark naked, she stared into the mirror. Seeing the reflection shows nothing but tinged pain, sadness, and lost.

Marina rubbed her face tiredly and grabbed her pills from the bathroom counter. Holding her pills as she turned on the shower. Feeling the water is warm enough, gripping tightly her pill bottle as she entered. Her unshed tears eyes stared straight to the ceiling as the emptiness filled her. Her eyes closed as the darkness filled her mind as her body fell into the tub listlessly. Her hand falling off the tub and the pill bottle clattered on the floor.
