They were driving east for a while before anyone spole.

Alice: Shane, Dana and I are very sorry that we put you in the postion with Bette. It was wrong of us to put you in the middle. We know how important Bette is to you.

Shane: You’re right on all accounts. You shouldn’t have put me in the middle and she does mean a lot to me.

Shane looked over at them and they both had there heads down.

Shane: But you two also mean a lot to me and I want you guys to be happy.

Alice: Thanx…Shane.

Alice voice was kind of slurred and Shane noticed right away.

Shane: Alice, are you alright?

Alice: I’m fine I’m just a little dizzy.

Shane pulled her truck over to the side. Got out of the truck, told Dana to get out and told Alice to scout over to the passenger side so that Shane could get a good look at her.

Alice went over to the side and swung her legs over. Shane put her hands on both sides of Alice’s face. Her eyes were fluttering and rolling up in the back of her head.

Alice: Shane I don’t feel so good…

Alice passed out and would’ve fallen out of the truck if Shane wasn’t holding on to her.

Shane: Dana help me we need to get her back into the truck and to the closest hospital.

Dana: But you said we wouldn’t put her in the hospital. You lied.

Shane: I may have lied but do you want her to die? I don’t think so we need to get moving.

They were drving to the hospital. Dana put Alice’s head on her shoulder and kept stroking her hair.

Shane: I don’t get how this could’ve happen. I mean we were watching her eat. When I left she finished her meal right?

Dana: Well we were talking and then I had to go to the bathroom and…

Shane: You left her alone? Dana she obviously threw out her food and she was prolly spitting out the food that she did take in.

Dana: Oh God this is all my fault.

Shane: It doesn’t matter who’s fault it was. We jsut need to get her to the hospital. Call Bette on my cell and tell her to meet us at Cedars.

They pulled into the hospital parking lot. Dana made the call and Shane carried Alice into the emergancy room.

Shane: Help. My friend needs help. She hasn’t been eating a lot and she fainted.

The doctors took her away and told Shane to wait in the waiting room. Dana saw Shane when she entered and went over to her.

Dana: They’ll be here as soon as they can.

Shane: Okay.

Dana: So what did they say?

Shane: They didn’t say anything they just took her and told me to sit here and wait and that is what we are going to do.

Dana: Shane I’m really Sor..

Shane: Dana, don’t please just don’t.

A little while later Bette and Tina came in. They ran to where Shane and Dana were sitting. Everyone got up and exchanged hugs except for Bette. Everyone could tell she was still angry.

Bette walked over in front of Shane and looks down one her.

Bette: She better be okay.

Shane didn’t look up she jsut stayed staring down at the floor praying that she was.

Dana: Bette it wasn’t her fault. I was the one that was suppose to be watching her eat and I left her alone. It was my fault.

Bette started to get offensive and got in Dana’s face.

Bette: And if Shane brought her back to the hospital in the first place then none of this would have happend.

Tina: Bette calm down. Don’t you think they feel bad enough.

Tina got up and sat next to Shane. Putting an arm around her.

Bette was about to walk away when Shane got up suddenly and walked to a middle age man who she assumed was Alice’s doctor. The rest of them walked over to him.

Doctor: I am Alice’s Doctor. Alice came in here very sick. We did everything that we could but she just wasn’t strong enough. I’m sorry but we lost her.

Dana broke down and Tina brought her back to one of the waiting room chairs and comforted her. Tina was crying as well. Shane was shocked and didn’t know where to turn. Bette became angry.

Bette turned towards Shane who was still looking all around.

Bette: Look at me! Because of you she is dead! If you would’ve done the right thing she would be alive right now!

Shane: I thought I was doing the right thing. I was helping to people in love.

Bette: What by killing one of them?

Tina: Bette thats enough. We’re all suffering jsut calm down please.

Shane couldn’t stand it anymore and ran out of the hospital.

Dana got up from her chair and started to run after her but stopped in the hall way and collapsed on her knees sobbing.

Bette walked over to her and picked her up off the ground trying to pull her into a hug. But Dana just beat on her chest. (picture what Tina did in the season fanile when Bette tryed to hug her)

Dana: Because of you Shane is out there doing who knows what. Don’t you feel bad at all. I know Shane did and she didn’t need you’re guilt on top of it. If she gets hurt or hurts herself them you are the only person I will blame.

Dana walked back over to Tina and gave her hug becasue right now she was the only one that was here that deserved to be comforted.
