6 Months- chapter 26
Tina held her. She simply held on. She knew of nothing else to do. This was her Bette and she would do whatever was necessary to reclaim what was hers.
Bette, on the other hand, even though she held on, was unsure of herself. She was not completely comfortable with the role reversal that had taken place, but also knew that she was not in much of a position to change things.
It was then that there was a knock at the front door.
Bette immediately stiffened in Tinas embrace, but Tina just continued to hold her and said, Just stay here. Ill get it.
I should go to the door Bette tiredly responded.
No, you should not was Tinas determined response.
With that, Tina pulled Bette closer to her, bringing Bettes face to within inches of hers, and then touched her soft lips to Bettes forehead.
Bette found comfort in the touch and continued to let just let go.
Tina finally broke the embrace, hearing the second knock on the door.
Just stay here she said in Bettes ear. Ill take care of it.
Bette relinquished her hold on Tina, took a step back, and continued to allow Tina to control the situation.
As she stepped back, she wondered to herself what she was giving up? Was it just the pain, was it just the acknowledgement of no longer being in charge, and was it just the realization that she was no longer driving this train?
She didnt know, and was no longer in a position to determine that.
Tina looked at her, again watching for any tell tale sign that Bette was turning away from her, but did not see that. What she saw was a person that had resigned herself to her immediate fate. A fate that she felt she no longer controlled.
Do I control it? Tina questioned. That had yet to be determined.
There was a third knock on the door, and this time, Tina separated herself from Bettes body.
Baby, I need to get that.
She only nodded in response.
Still afraid of losing her physical contact with Bette, she grasped her hand, squeezed it once, and let a smile land upon her face. Her hope was that the smile told Bette what she meant to her, what being with her meant to her and how much love in her heart she held for Bette.
She regretfully released Bettes hand, and said, Baby, just stay here. I will take care of everything.
Again, Bette simply nodded.
Tina walked to the door of the apartment, opened it and smiled to the room service attendant.
Jose looked surprised as this was not the person that he had expected to open the door. He was used to Ms. Porter and liked her a lot. She was a very kind person, always asking about both him and his family.
The blond haired woman asked him in, and he shrugged the feeling off.
May I set this up for you in the kitchen?
No was Tinas immediate response, trying to keep this intrusion away from Bette.
He looked at her with some surprise and said, Then where would you like this?
In the dining room she said.
Jose wheeled the cart in and as he passed the kitchen, saw Ms. Porter out of the side of his eye and wondered why she had not answered the door.
Jose put all of the food that Bette had ordered onto the dining room table, and reached for the check.
I will need a signature he said.
Fine was Tinas response. I will take care of it.
Jose watched as the blond haired woman signed the check, all the time keeping an eye on Ms. Porter. Why does she just stand in there? he wondered.
After the check was signed, Jose took his cart and began to leave the apartment.
Thank you and have a very nice day he said.
And the same to you. was Tinas reply.
Jose heard the door close behind him and thought, that was strange. but quickly started to think about the next delivery that he had to make.
Inside, Tina walked back into the kitchen, scooped up Bette back into her arms and said, Baby, are you ready?
Bette, not really knowing how to respond, just said, Yes.
And left it at that.

Hmmm! How did Tina recover from the total wreck so fast? And, Bette became an emotional worn out instead. What’s a reversal role! Have a good time with your significant other.I’ll be right here waiting for more chapters.

I’m down in Mexico, but time doesn’t matter with stories like this.
I’ve been reading the whole thing and is great how are you leading us trough their pain, sorrow and hopefully love.
