Dana’s House

Alice and Dana lazily walked through the front door, completely exhausted from the day’s events. All either of them wanted to do was sleep. They both stopped at the steps to speak to Howie, who was in the living room, before trudging up to Dana’s bedroom. Dana plopped down on the edge of the bed, Alice sensed something was wrong with her because of the troubled look on Dana’s face. Alice kicked off her shoes and crawled to the edge of the bed, wrapping her arms around Dana as she kissed her cheek.

“What’s wrong baby” Alice asked with concern.

“Nothing” Dana replied as she fixed a smile on her face to convince Alice, she didn’t buy it at all.

“Listen Fairbanks I know you and I know something’s bothering you” Alice stopped mid sentence, “It’s your parents isn’t it”. Dana shrugged her shoulders and stood facing Alice. “Dana…talk to me please” she pleaded.

“I went out last night” Dana began and Alice gave her a confused look, “It was after you fell asleep and…” Alice interrupted her.

“What…where’d you go Dana” Dana fumbled with her hands as Alice questioned her ‘why did you even bring this up’ she thought. Alice sensed Dana’s uneasiness and stopped her rambling. Dana took a deep breathe and began again.

“I went to my parents home…I spoke to my mother and well to make a long story short…we won’t be sending her an invitation to the wedding because she said she will not be attending” Alice grabbed both of Dana’s hand’s, rubbing the back of them with her thumbs.

“I’m so sorry honey I know how much you wanted your parents to be there” Dana half smiled and Alice thought there was something Dana wasn’t telling her. “Dana is there something else you wanna say or…”. Dana quickly kneeled down in front of Alice who felt her hands trembling a little.

“On the way back from my parents” Dana stopped and gulped, “I took the long way so I could clear my head you know and well” Dana stopped for a second, “Ambrosia’s Suite is on the way back here” Dana began turning pale as she spoke.

“What happened” Alice asked almost afraid of Dana’s answer.

“I saw Shane leaving her suite” Dana whispered.

Bette and Tina were lying in bed, the rest of the gang had left hours ago and her Bette was staring at ceiling as if searching for an answer. She rolled over to Tina who’s back was facing her, “Tee” she whispered. Tina turned to face Bette but was unable to keep eye contact with her.

“What happened last night” Bette questioned and Tina turned so her back was once again facing Bette, “If you don’t tell me I can’t help you” she touched Tina’s shoulder and felt her shivering. “Tina” Bette begged.

“Just leave it alone Bette” Tina urged fighting back the tears, she didn’t want to think about last night. She was desperately trying to forget everything that happened.

“Tina” Bette breathed in deeply and hoped Tina would forgive her for what she was about to ask her, “do you know anything about Ambrosia’s murder” she blurted out the question that had been burning a hole in her mind since last night.

“Your sister” Nylan stepped, feeling like the wind had just been knocked out of her. Shane fixed her mouth to form a ‘wow’ as she looked back and forth between the two women.

“What happened to your arm” Kayla asked now noticing Nylan’s sling.

“I…my house was robbed last night…don’t try to change the subject…this is your sister” Nylan pointed to Candace.

“Okay now that the introductions have been made can we please leave…I don’t wanna be here any longer than I have to” Kayla said and Shane nodded.

“Just a minute there Ms McCutcheon” Loughlin said as they were about to leave. “I’d like to ask you a few questions if you don’t mind” Nylan and Shane looked at each other before Shane shrugged and gave him a ‘whatever’ face.

“Hold on a minute” Nylan said grabbing Shane’s arm before she went into Loughlin’s office, “Is she being charged with anything” she asked and Loughlin turned around and gave her a questioning glare.

“No” he answered, “but if she has nothing to hide then what’s the harm in answering a few questions”.

“She can answer you questions we just want a lawyer present” Nylan replied as she fought hard to save Shane’s *****. Shane just watched the two as if watching a tennis match, “And not a court appointed one”.

“Are you hiding something Ms McCutcheon” Loughlin asked and Shane shook her head no.

“No but yesterday you tried to pin a rape charge on us so if there nothing else that we can help you with, we’d like to go” Loughlin stared at Nylan hard, she had found her way out of this one. He smiled and stepped aside so the women could leave.

“Oh and ladies” he said as they reached the door, “I wouldn’t leave town if I were you” Louglin continued now wearing a ***** eating grin. Nylan clenched her teeth as she walked out of the door giving Kayla and Candace the chance to walk ahead of them. She stopped and pushed Shane slightly.

“I don’t want to ask this question but I am” Nylan said looking Shane directly in her eyes,”Did you have anything to do with Ambrosia’s murder”.

“Leave it alone man” Shane grumbled as she pushed Nylan out of her way to get to the truck. Nylan rolled her eyes and followed Shane. They met up with Candace and Kayla who were having a conversation of their own, they cut the talking short when they seen Shane and Nylan approaching them. Shane watched them both very closely as Nylan eyes darted back and forth between them, she knew they were hiding something.

“Are you sure it was Shane Dana” Alice asked and Dana gave her a look, “That still doesn’t mean she had anything to do with this…does it”.

“I don’t know Al…I’m torn…what do I do…go to the police…I can’t turn Shane in” Dana said almost in tears.

“No you can’t do that” Alice yelled.

“But Al” Dana began.

“No Dana…Shane didn’t kill Ambrosia okay” she grabbed Dana’s face, “you can’t ever mention this again Dana do you hear me because they’ll send Shane to prison and besides Shane had nothing to do with this” Alice replied trying to convince herself more than Dana.

Candace’s House

Shane and Candace were inside looking around awkwardly while Kayla and Nylan had stepped outside to talk.

“You okay” Kayla asked concerned for Nylan.

“I was a little shaken up last night but I’m okay now” Nylan replied staring back into the house at Shane and Candace who continued to sit in silence.

“How is Isiah taking this” Kayla said.

“I really haven’t had a chance to speak with him” Nylan shrugged,”but he’s with Lara now”. Nylan felt herself becoming upset with the whole conversation and with everything else that was going she just broke down and began to cry.

“Baby listen we’ll get through this together” Nylan listened to Kayla words as she quickly regained her composure never being one to show her vulnerable.

“Thank you for being here” Nylan said as she kissed Kayla forhead. Kayla moved quickly to kiss Nylan’s lips, she captured them as she deepened the kiss. Nylan grabbed her by the shoulders and stared into her eyes before she spoke.

“I can’t do this Kayla” she said.

“Why Nylan” Nylan looked away unable to keep eye contact with Kayla,”Is it because of Tina because she’s gone Nylan she’s not coming back”. It hurt Nylan to hear the words but they were true and she knew she had to deal with it.

“No its because of us…me and you…I realize I haven’t given to time to grow…I’m the only person you’ve been with and I think you need to expierience more” Nylan said.

“Like you did” Kayla said her voice full of scorn,”exactly how many women did you sleep with while we were married huh…you lied Nylan you said you never cheated on me since we’ve been married”.

“I want a divorce” Nylan yelled and she immediately lowered her voice. Shane stepped out onto the steps.

“Is everything okay out here” Shane asked.

“Yeah…let’s get out here I have to get to Lara’s” Nylan replied. Shane nodded and headed to the truck. Kayla roughly grabbed Nylan’s arm as she passed.

“I love you Nylan” she said sobbing uncontrolably,”Do you have any idea what I’ve sacrificed for you”. Nylan shrugged slightly to shake off Kayla’s grip and began to walk away.

“I will never let you go” Kayla screamed between her sobs.
