Dana continued the eye contact with Alice and then broke it suddenly.

No Al I want to marry you. By this point both women were softly crying, they sat at opposite ends of the room simply looking at each other for what seemed like an eternity. Dana slowly got up from the couch and walked over to Alice. Dana put one hand on Alices hip and the other on the back of her neck. Dana tilted her head and gently kissed Alice just once on the lips.
I cant marry her, Dana said looking into Alices now blood shot eyes. Alice pulled Dana further in towards her and kissed her again, this time Alice gently parted Danas lips with her tongue and was quickly met with Dana returning her affections.

At twelve thirty Tina gently opened the door as so not to wake Alice, she walked silently down the hall and quickly noticed that Alices bed was empty. She continued down the hall and into the living room. Alices head popped up from behind the couch as she turned the overhead light on.
Oh hey Tina
Hey Tina Dana said sitting up on the couch.
Hey kids, I see that things went well then? Tina said like a true mother.
Hey what time is it? Dana asked.
Half twelve
Al I should get going, I didnt actually tell Tonja what I was going

Alice and Dana walked out and passed Tina who hadnt moved from the doorway.
There was only nervous silence to be heard on the way to Danas car. Dana suddenly turned around to face Alice.
Al, I meant what I said before ok, I do love you

Alice gently kissed Dana goodbye and went back inside to face the third degree that was imminent.

Alice closed the door behind her as she returned to her apartment. She took a minute to catch her thoughts and returned to the living room.

Dana walked through the front door of her house and found Tonja still awake on the couch.
Hey baby, where you been? Tonja asked in that annoyingly high-pitched voice that is characteristically hers.
With the girls Dana said lying through her teeth.
Oh, ok Tonja said accepting the lye
Look Tonja, we need to talk Dana said looking at Tonja.
Yeah, we do, I need your measurements for the tailor tomorrow
No Tonja Dana said trying to stay calm.
