Life With Liz CH 18
BOB? BOB!!!
Liz was crawling around her room on her hands and knees looking everywhere. Under her bed, in her closet, in her dresser drawersbut Bob was nowhere to be found.
BOB!!!
Hearing her daughters cries, Tina came tearing into Lizs room with a panicked look on her face. She looked around but didnt see Liz anywhere. Suddenly Liz came climbing out of her closet with a look of worry on her face that tugged on Tinas heart strings a little.
Honey whats wrong?
I lost Bob
You did?
Yeah
Okay well we need to find him before mommy gets home otherwise shes not going to be happy. Come on baby lets look for him
******
Bette, Tina and Liz were at the mall one day getting Liz some new clothes when suddenly Liz took of running towards a pet store. Tina and Bette managed to keep up with her but it took forever to pull her out of there and they didnt leave empty handed. Liz looked at all of the animals and she wanted to take all of them home. She petted the rabbits, the kittens and she spent forever in front of the puppies. Bette gave Tina a look that said in no unclear terms, NO but when Liz turned to Bette and pointed to the hamsters even Bette couldnt refuse Lizs puppy dog stare.
Mommy can we get one?
I dont know Lizpets are a big responsibility. Are you going to take care of him?
Yes
Are you going to feed him and make sure hes happy?
Yes
Tina smiled upon seeing the resolve slowly disappear from Bettes face. She too thought that Liz was a little too young to have a pet, but hamsters werent that much work and all Liz would have to do is make sure that she didnt do anything to harm him. After an exchange of looks between Bette and Tina they agreed to get Liz a pet hamster. Bette bought the furry little thing, a cage and some food for the hamster and when it was all over she looked at Tina with a look that said, this is your fault. Tina just brushed it off and turned to Liz who was happily bouncing along after them singing to herself.
I got a petI got a pet
Liz honeyhave you decided what to name him?
Umno
Well do you want help picking out a name?
No I can do it mommyhow aboutumBob?
Bob?
Yeah Bob
Okay Bob it is
And from that moment the little hamster that was joining the family was named Bob. The first thing that Bette did when they got home and got Bob set up in his cage was lay down some ground rules. Number oneunder no circumstances should Bob be allowed anywhere near her and Tinas closet or any of their shoes. Number two, it is up to Liz (with the help of either her or Tina of courselike they are going to give all this responsibility to a 3 year old) to make sure that Bob is fed every day and that his cage is cleaned out regularly. And most importantlythe rule above all else is that Bob cannot be allowed to run freely throughout the house. After Tina and Liz agreed to abide by Judge Bettes rules, Tina and Bette left Liz alone to play with Bob in her room where his cage was.
******
That was one month ago. Today however, Liz just violated the number one rule and Tina hoped that they could find Bob before Bette got home because according to Bette, the punishment for any of the rules being broken was that Bob had to find a new home, and Tina didnt want Liz to have to give him up after such a short period of time.
Bob??? Come here Bob
Tina and Liz were crawling around in Lizs room looking in every possible place when Tina told Liz to keep looking in there while she went and checked her and Bettes room. An hour later after looking in almost every possible place, Bob was still nowhere to be found and Tina was getting worried. She looked at the cage and saw that the door was open so she turned to Liz to see why his cage door was open.
Liz, honey, why is Bobs cage door open?
I wanted to play with him mommy
I know baby but you cant take him out of his cage anymore okay?
Okay
Just then Tina heard Bettes car pull up into the drive way and she felt her stomach drop a little. Oh ***** I hope shes not in a bad mood, thought Tina as she turned to Liz with a small smile on her face.
Okay honey mommys home. Dont tell her about Bob okay? I will tell her.
Okay mommy
Okay lets goits dinner time
Tina and Liz greeted Bette at the door who looked at them kind of strangely when she walked in the house. She wasnt used to the two of them being right there when she opened the door and she gave Tina a questioning look, which was quickly pushed aside as Tina kissed her hello.
Hi babe…
Hi honeyhi Lizhow was your day today?
Good mommy
Hungry babe?
Starved
Great lets eat
The three of them settled down for a nice quiet dinner with Liz sneaking looks to Tina every now and then before she started giggling uncontrollably. Tina looked at her and smiled wishing that she wouldnt make it so obvious since Bette was already giving them strange looks to begin with. Dinner was successful as Liz managed not to say anything to Bette about Bob and Tina did her best to get Liz cleaned up and in bed as fast as possible while she tried to explain to Bette that there was a possibility of a furry little creature running around their house at this very moment. After Liz was in bed Tina went back to the living room to find Bette reading some work material on the couch. Tina joined her for a while before the two of them decided to head off to bed as well. While Bette was in the shower Tina did another quick sweep of the house to make sure that Bob was nowhere to be found and she hoped for his sake that he would keep his furry little behind hidden at least until tomorrow.
Bette returned from her shower and Tina managed to take a world record shower in almost five minutes before she was right beside Bette in bed with the lights off. Once again Bette turned to Tina with a smile on her face.
Is everything okay baby?
Everything is fine babego to sleep
Okaygoodnight
Goodnight
In the morning Tina awoke to find Bette already in the shower and she groggily got up to make coffee and breakfast for herself and Bette before they had to take Liz to day care. Liz came walking into the kitchen as well rubbing her eyes and Tina smiled and kissed her good morning before settling her down with a cup of milk. Tina hoped that wherever Bob had gone he had the right mind to stay out of sight until everyone was gone but of course that would be too easy.
TINA!!!!!
Tina winced when she heard Bette yell and she knew that Bette had found the missing Bob. She went into the bathroom to see what was the matter and what she found made her double over in laughter. Apparently Bob had scared the ***** out of Bette by hiding under her robe and when Bette went to put it on he jumped out of the pocket causing Bette to stumble backwards where she was now sprawled out next to the toilet with Bob staring her right in the face. Liz came running in as well and she beamed when she saw her little friend.
Yay mommy found Bob!!!
TINA
I know I knowhe has to go
Bette just stared at Tina before turning back to Bob and looking him dead in the eye. She hated this furry little creature and although she hated to upset Liz she had to teach her about responsibility and consequences. Bette stared Bob dead in the eye almost grateful that he was going and for a few seconds it was a showdown between Bette and Bob, neither wanting to give in. Then Bob blinked.
