This is stupid, Alice thought. She looked around trying to figure out where Tina was. She cant have left without telling me. She looked back at the house. She cant have gone inside the house. I wouldve seen her if she did. Cant think of anyplace Tina would be, Alice tried her luck and ran back into the house.
She opened the door and crept in as quietly as she could so as not to wake Bette. She scanned the living room and saw Tina about to fall. She quickly ran to her side to give her support. Hey I got you. You need to get some rest you know? Lets go to the couch. Alice led Tina to the couch. Once seated, Tina rested her head on Alices shoulder while Alice had her arms around her.
Tina honey, you want to tell me why youre in the house? Tina was silent.
Okay
Al, thank you. Thank you for this Al smiled. She thought she would have to push Tina to speak.
No need for thanks T. So maybe we should get going? Ive got your stuff packed in the car. But take your time k?
Al Tinas words were interrupted by the phone.
Should I get that? Tina shook her head. She didnt want to know who was calling. She was afraid it might be Candace looking for Bette. If it was her, she didnt know how shed take it. Shed probably break down again. Thank god for Alice. Just let the machine get it Alice nodded.
Hey youve reached Bette and Tinas. We cant come to the phone right now so please leave a message after the beep The machine beeped and Shanes voice came on. Hey guys. Im at the Planet now. Thought you might want to drop by. Dana is here too. Oh and Bette, great show last night. Well, see ya! The machine beeped indicating end of message.
Alice and Tina just stared at the phone, both with their own thoughts. Tina sat still. She was digesting what Shane had said. Great show? Bette has had many shows on her name and this particular one is far from great. Its a disaster. Its the reason their whole marriage fell apart. Bette cheating on her with the carpenter whom she thought was a friend, those protestors with their unworldly claims and the ungodly time Bette spent at the gallery only to have her come home in a bad mood. What great show? Theres nothing great about that. Tina was hurt and she got angrier with that realization. She needed to face Bette. She needed to talk to her.
At the mention of Danas name, Al fidgeted in her seat. Consoling her two friends made her forget her own problems. Alice wanted to see Dana to talk things over. But she didnt even know how to start. Things will be awkward and she wont be able to get the words right. Right, I have to do this. Ill just drop Tina off and make sure shes ok and Ill drive over to the Planet and try to get Dana alone with me.
Alice turned her attention to Tina who was still in her arms. T, you want to go now? Come on. Tina was crying silently and she turned her head to face Alice.
Al, I think I think I will stay here
What? Are you sure? Are you sure thats the right thing to do right now? Alice was looking at her, her eyes wide. She was trying to see if this is Tina talking and not her emotions.
I dont know if it is. And frankly I dont know whats right anymore

Do you want me to leave now? I mean I can stay here if you want. But what are you going to do here?
Its ok Al. Ill be fine. Theres no need for you to stay. Ive taken so much of your time already. Why dont you go and see Shane and Dana over at the Planet. I dont know what Ill be doing here. All I know is I need to talk to her, I need some answers
But honey dont you think its too soon?
I dont know Alice but I cant just sit and mop around. Id rather know now than later.
Ok well, Im gonna go ok? But if you need anything, I mean anything, call me ok? Alice stood up and gave Tina a kiss on her cheeks.

Dana startled and turned around to see Marina smiling down at her. Oh erm yeah shes busy planning the wedding so its just me today.

Yeah sure Marina. Dont worry about it.
Yeah thanks Marina Shane jumped in. Marina smiled and left.
So as I was saying Dane, whats with the look?

Shane picked up her fork and made a circling motion in front of Danas face with it. THAT look!
Dana suddenly realized what she was talking about. She didnt know what to say so she tried to change the subject. So who did u go home with last night? Anyone I know?
Shane chuckled. Classic, she thought. You sounded like Alice
What? I do not! Dana was blushing.
Yeah you did Shane said smiling and nodding at the same time. And why are you blushing?
I am not
You are too!!! Shane was laughing so hard now.

By now Dana was furious, she was also embarrassed. How could she not control her emotions? Especially in front of Shane of all people!! I wish Alice was here. Dana looked at Shane who was still laughing, tears in her eyes. She rolled her eyes at Shane, who knowing how angry Dana was with her, tried her best to stop laughing.
Oh hey Al Shane said. Dana sat up straight. Not knowing what to do or say she turned around and smiled.
Whats so funny? Alice asked confused but she let out a small laugh. Shanes laugh sure is contagious. Alice sat next Shane dropped her bag on the table. So what is it? Do fill me in you guys Alice was avoiding eye-contact with Dana. Shane smiled. Nah its nothing. So where you been?
Well, Ive been around Alice didnt know where to start really. Shed been busy looking after and helping out Bette and Tina she barely had time for herself today.
Guys, what Im about to tell you will hurt so bear with me Shane and Dana were now shifting all their full attention to Alice. Well, when I, when I came home from from Well, Tina stayed over at my apartment last night
What the? Alice dont tell me Shane started.
No,no Shane. *****! Youd think? Dana let out a sigh. She didnt want Alice to be with Tina. She didnt want Alice to be with anyone but her, that she knows for sure.
Well hear me out ok? Im not done yet. Bette cheated on Tina with Candace
Candace as in the carpenter Candace Dana asked.
