Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Liz was running around the house still wielding the knife she had made out of the cardboard tube the night she had seen the scary movie. Tina watched her run around with a smile on her face as Bette watched her with a weary eye. Liz had formed some great appreciation for horror movies and although it had been about a week since she saw the movie her interest in this genre didnt die.

Liz came flying up to the kitchen table almost knocking Bette over as she jumped into her lap. Bette had gotten used to Lizs new love for all things scary but nonetheless she always had to be on guard with her daughter or else. Liz had gotten Bette quite a few times but the best one was when she hid in Bettes car as they were getting ready to head over to Nancys for the day. Bette was still loading groceries into the car and when Liz jumped out to scare her Bette fell over backwards in surprise. Tina had a few talks with her daughter about not scaring Bette so much but they didnt work and every chance she got Liz found it quite amusing to make her mother terrified.

Bette got Liz settled into her chair while Tina brought dinner to the table. They shared a nice meal and when it was over Bette got Liz cleaned up while Tina started on the dishes. The gang was going to come over tonight for movie night, (which used to be poker night until Liz was born) and Liz was excited to see her favorite aunties. Bette made Tina promise not to tell the gang about Lizs new and interesting game of scare the ***** out of you because she wanted to see if Liz would try and scare any of the other girls. Around eight oclock Alice, Dana and Shane all showed up on time and ready with movies, popcorn and snowcaps for Tina who was going through a major chocolate phase at the moment. They popped the popcorn and got the movie set up while Bette gave Liz a bath so she could just go to sleep right after the movie was done. Bette had a talk with Liz while she was bathing her and reminded her that she shouldnt scare people and that it wasnt nice. Liz shook her head like she understood but deep down Bette had a feeling that she was already plotting some evil scheme to dish out. In the living room the girls were relaxing and enjoying a nice conversation topped with great munchies and within minutes Bette and Liz were back out and the movie fest began. The movie for tonight was Bettlejuice, one of Tina and Shanes absolute favorites, and soon the movie was underway and everyone was having a great time. Bette kept an eye on Liz and at one point she saw Liz staring at Alice and Dana with a smile on her face and she could almost see the wheels turning. She glanced at Tina and smiled.

Bette just shook her head as Tina shooshed her and she went back to the movie, which she secretly couldnt stand but put up with for Tinas sake, and with about thirty minutes left she really had to pee so she got up and walked to the bathroom as the other five enjoyed the movie. Bette opened the door to the bathroom and was just about to join them back in the living room when she heard a noise come from her bedroom. She glanced down the hall at the girls who were none the wiser and then looked back at her bedroom.

THUD

She was sure she heard the noise this time so she tiptoed back there to see what was wrong. She slowly pushed open the door and when it looked like everything was alright she flipped on the light and looked around.

SCRATCH SCRATCH SCRATCH

Bette stared at the closet and felt her body tense up as she slowly walked over there to see what could be in there that was making that noise. She looked around for a weapon of some kind, but give the fact that her and Tina werent exactly sport oriented she came up short and just prayed that whatever was in there could be fended off with one ***** of a scream. She threw open the door and shouted at the top of her lungs.

AHHHH..what the.LIZ!!!

Bob was staring at Bette like she had three heads and he couldnt figure out what all the commotion was as Tina and Liz both ran into the room followed by Alice, Shane and Dana. Bob figured that everyone had finally come to rescue him since Liz had put him in here almost three days ago, but from the looks of things that might not be the case.

Liz did you put Bob in here?

Yes mommy

Why?

We were playing hide and go seek mommy

Bette sighed as she shook her head and made Tina grab the hamster and get him back into his cage. Alice and Shane almost doubled over in laughter at Bette being scared by the little creature while Liz just looked sadly at Bob and gave Bette her best puppy dog eyes.

Dont look at me like that young ladyyou are in troubleyou know you arent supposed to take Bob out of his cageremember what happened last time?

Liz just hung her head as she followed Tina into her room and sat down in front of the cage looking at her furry friend. Tina just looked at Bette with a hopeless look while Dana pushed Alice back out to the living room to let Bette and Tina handle this one on their own. Tina sat down next to Bette on the bed who was just sitting there with a small smile on her face.

Well at least our daughter is creativethank goodness shell have a playmate soon

Tina smiled as Bette gently rubbed her stomach and sighed in agreement as Bette put her head on Tinas shoulder. Meanwhile outside Alice and Dana were arguing about how much on a pansy Bette was while Shane just sat back and watched the interaction with an amused look on her face.

I dont know what youre talking about Dana its not that big of a dealdidnt you do stuff like that when you were a kid?

Oh thats right Ms. Orange County I forgotwell us simple folkwe used to do stuff like that all the time okay?

Bette is such a wimpshes just a three year old for crying out loudno three year old is going to scare me

And with that Alice got up and walked back to Lizs room to see if she was alright. Alice knocked on the door but when she didnt get a response she opened the door slowly and stuck her head in.

Liz?

Alice had the door completely open and she looked around with a slight feeling of panic coursing through her veins. The window in Lizs room was wide open and Alice walked over to it thinking maybe she ran awaybut after seeing how high up it was she thought that it was impossible so she looked around for Liz.

LIZ?

Alices voice got a little louder and it attracted the attention of Dana and Shane who came back to see what was going on. They saw Alice looking for Liz and suddenly everyone was in full swing. Dana went to check the other rooms and tell Tina and Bette that Liz was missing while Shane went back out to the living room to see if maybe Liz had sneaked outside somehow. Alice was getting really worried and she started looking under things and all over the place to find Liz. Alice opened Lizs closet and when Liz jumped out it scared the ***** out of Alice.

BOOOOO!!!

AHHHHH

Alice got so scared she tumbled backwards and tripped over a stuffed animal that was in Lizs room. Everyone heard the crash and they all came running to see what was the matter. When they got to the doorway everyone nearly died laughing. Liz was standing over Alice holing her pretend knife while Alice gave her a genuine look of horror as Liz taunted her with her scary movie music impersonation. After a few minutes everyone regained their sense of control and Dana looked at Al with a pitying look.

So what was that you were saying about not being scared of a three year old Al?

Alice huffed as she got up and she was about to get mad but one look at Liz who looked so happy she couldnt help but feel almost proud of Liz. That was something Alice would have done when she was a kid and it was good to see that she had someone she could share her prankster side with. Alice bent down and scooped Liz up as everyone laughed and headed back to the living room while Tina gave Bette a questioning look.

Tina laughed as her and Bette joined the others in the living room and soon another movie was in and everyone was enjoying it. Bette glanced over at Liz once again who was staring at Dana this time and Bette just shook her head, thats my girl
