Bette went up to her room, had a shower and went to go and take a nap. She coudnt belive what was happening. She didnt want to lose Tina, but Lauren deserves to have both her mothers in her life right? This was confusing to Bette. She was going to take a nap, and hopefully when she woke up she would be able to work through it. She only had a few more days in Hawaii with Tina and she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her, but with Candace in the picture trying to reclaim her place she thought she wound back down for just a or at least until she had her nap.

Back at Tina’s house

Candace and Lauren where spending time together. They had gone swimming, checked the beach for sea shells, and watched the starfish in the wading pools. Tina had watched them from the beach. If someone had just met them, so would have looked like the most perfect, happy family. Tina hadnt seen Lauren laugh or smile so much in her entire life. The two of them had been happy together, but with Candace in the picture Lauren seemed to light up. They soon joined her to show her all the shells they had collected.

“Look mama. Look at all the shells we got.”

“Wow baby you did get a lot. You should take them to the house and wash them, so you can keep them.”

“Come on mama C. Lets go.” Lauren had grabbed Candance’s hand and was leading her back into the house.

“Come on Tee, lets go have lunch.” She followed them back to the house, and they disapeared in the house before them. As Tina was walking in Candance grebbed her by the waist and pulled her close.

“Hey”

“Hey back” Tina was just inches from Candace. She was staring into her eyes. Those dark brown chocolate eyes. They eyes that she fell in love with so long ago. She was lost in those eyes. She closed her eyes, and the trance she was in was gone.

“Candace what are you doing?”

“Im holding you”

“No what are you doing?”

“I missed you Tina. I never should have left you, and i will do anything and everything in my power to make it up to you. Tina open your eyes”

“No”

“Open them” Tina opened them slowly and she saw Candace smilling. She was bitting her lower lip. She had forgotten Candace use to bite her lip when she was nervous. Canadace pulled her even closer, and planted the sweetest, softest kiss on her lips.

“I never stopped loving you Tina. Let me make it up to you”

“Lets go slow, ok. I wont promise you anything.”

“I think you said that same exact thing when we first met. Do you remember way back then.”

A long time ago….

Lt Commander Tina Kennard was checking into the Wyndham New York when she saw her. She looked like she was a carpenter or something. They Wyndham was refinishing there lobby and had hired a young girl and her crew from Brooklyn. Hard work and a good reputation had gotten Candace Jewll this dream job. If she did a good job, she was be asked to do work all over New York and never be broke again.

Tina stared at her. She was dark and mysterious. She had dark brown hair and dark brown cholocate eyes that seemed to peer into her soul. They where starring at each other and it was if Tina’s heart had stopped and skipped a beat. She smiled at the carpenter and turned to to take her room key and go up to her room. As she entered the elevator she turned around and smiled at the carpenter. Hopefully while she was here they would see each other again.

“Hey Frank”

“Hey Candace, How goes it?”

“Its coming along you know. Hey who was that. The Navy girl that just checked in?”

“Oh so you noticed, The card says Lt Commander Christina Kennard, US Navy. You like?”

“Oh yeah, I like. What’s she hear for.”

“Oh theres a convention or something at the ports. She’s here twice a year for the past few years. She’s pretty cool, and she’s a fat tipper. She goes by Tina though.”

“Oh yeah, what else.”

“She aint into sausage if you know what i mean.”

“Got it. Um i gotta get back to work. Talk to you later Frank”

Candace was excited. Tina was hot, and she hoped they would meet again. She decided to get back to work. It wasnt easy to concentrate, but the day was still young, and she was definaly going to see this Tina again.

Meanwhile Tina was probing the elevator attendant about the carpenter in the lobby

“Well shes been working here about 1 month. The boss hired her and her crew to do the lobby and if he likes it she gets to do everything else. She’s pretty nice. Always on time and the boss says she’s honest.”

“Do you know anything about her personally? I mean does like a boyfrined or anything ever stop by?”

“No maam. Theres no boyfriend. She’s not that kind of girl. She more into the female type if you know what i mean.’

Tina knew exactly what he ment. She was going to go upstairs take a shower, relax and maybe think about that ***** carpenter. A few minutes later when Tina was getting ready to jump in the shower she stopped to take off her ring, and it popped off her finger and it fell in the sink. As she bent down to pick it up she hit the facet and the ring fell down the drain. It was her graduation ring from the academy. She had to get it back. She ran to the phone and called down to the front desk. She asked for someone to come up and get her ring out of the sink pipe. The front desk said they would send someone up right away.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Tina opened the door and standing if front of her with a wrench was the carpenter from downstairs.

“Hi, um Frank said you dropped something down the sink.” Tina could see the carpenter was nervous and she was bitting her bottom lip.

“Um yes, i dropped my graduation ring down the sink, and i have to get it back”

“No problem it should only take a few minutes.” Tina led the carpenter into the bathroom.

“Oh by the way im Tina Kennard.” She offered her hand to her.

“Im Candance Jewell. Nice to meet you.”

It took only a few minutes for Candace to get the ring for Tina. They stayed and chatted for a few minutes. Candace asked how long she was in town for and Tina replied for a few days. Candace offered to take Tina out for dinner, to show her the town. Tina accepted stating it would be nice to go to dinner with someone for once. They made plans for 7pm, and Tina would meet Candace in the lobby.

“Wow you look great Tina”

“Thank you. I hope you like Tai food. There is this great place down the road.”

“I love Tai food. How funny. Shall we go.” Tina offered her hand to Candace and she accepted it. There hands fit together like they where made for each other. Tina turned to Candace and said.

“You know i wont promise you anything Candace, but I am willing to try.” She had just handed her heart on a plate to Candace. She had never been to bold in her entire life.

“If you are willing to try then so am I.”

Tina was still being held by Candance very close. She felt herself being led into the bedroom and stripped of her clothes. Candace laid her on the bed climbed on top of her and made love to her. She missed making love to Candace. She missed her touch, her kiss, her taste and her smell. She missed being with with a lover. She closed her eyes to go to sleep, but a face popped up. It was Bette. She was in love with Bette, but still loved Candace. What was she going to do. Candace held her close and she soon fell asleep conflicted.
