ROAR!!!

Liz jumped on Alice who was caught completely off guard and she almost fell over as Liz threw all her body weight onto her back. Bette, Tina and Dana all laughed at Lizs antics and how Alice seemed like she was ready for payback. It was a Thursday night and Al and Dana were over having dinner at the Porter-Kennards like they usually did about once a week. Bette and Tina were happy that Alice and Dana had become such stable figures in Lizs life and both of them could see that when it was time for Alice to have kids of her own that she was going to be great. Alice and Liz wrestled on the floor a bit while Bette poured coffee for herself and Dana and got Tina a cup of tea. Tina was a whopping six months pregnant and as each day passed Liz seemed to get more and more excited about having a little brother while Bette got more and more anxious about having two kids running around.

So did you guys pick out a name yet?

Oh are you guys just gonna wait?

Tina shrugged her shoulders and so did Bette. With Liz it had been one thing to come up with her name, but they felt that with their son they might go with something more common. They had thrown a few names around, but nothing that really stuck out as being the right one. Dana looked over at the two kids playing on the floor and she laughed.

Bette and Tina laughed as they watched Alice and Liz beat each other up. For all the talk that Alice does, she really is great with kids and she really loved Liz. She was so careful with her while at the same time letting her be as rough and tumble as she wanted. They all cracked up when Liz managed to crawl on top of the couch and jump onto Alice like she saw the professional wrestlers do on TV. Alice caught her mid air and pretended to be knocked out by the hit as she crashed down gently making sure not to hurt Liz. At first Liz looked all champ and danced around Alice for a bit but when Alice didnt move Liz seemed genuinely concerned. She bent down and put her face right over Alices and shook her.

Aunty? Aunty?

Alice played possum for a few minutes until she was sure that Liz was all worked up. Just as she felt Liz bend down even closer to her face she opened her eyes and grabbed Liz in surprise.

AHHHHHHH

Liz squealed with laughter as Alice tickled her and made her wiggle around. Dana just shook her head as she watched her girlfriend interact with Liz.

Hard to tell which one is the kid huh?

Aww Dane its cute. Shes great with Liz.

Yeah

Dana had a happy look on her face and Bette nudged Tina and smiled. They talked for a few more minutes until Dana glanced at her watch and saw that it was probably time for Liz to go to bed soon so she rounded up her big kid.

Come on Al wed better get going

Aww mom five more minutes

Dana laughed as Alice pouted and Liz saw what Alice was doing and copied her exactly. Dana just shook her head and Bette went in to save her by scooping up Liz.

Come on young lady its time for your bath

Liz squirmed around not wanting to get all clean and stuff as she tried to wiggle out of Bettes hands so she could play with Alice some more. Alice stood up and dusted herself off as she turned and smiled at Liz.

Liz just smiled an evil smile as Alice kissed her goodbye. Dana and Alice left Bette and Tina to get Liz ready for bed. Bette gave Liz a bath while Tina settled down in front of the television. After about half an hour Liz was clean, her teeth were brushed and she was getting into bed with Bette tucking her in. Liz crawled under the covers but she still seemed wide-awake.

Honey do you want a bedtime story?

No its okay mommyIm a big girl

Oh really? Okay so my big girl doesnt need a bed time story huh?

Why is mommy getting bigger?

Bette looked at Liz and tried to figure out how to explain pregnancy to a three year old. She thought about it for a second and decided a vague answer was best.

Well because thats your little brother growing inside of there

Bette was really stuck now. She tried to think of a good way to explain things to Liz but she was really struggling with this one.

Bette breathed a sigh of relief as she kissed the top of Lizs head and switched off the light. She shut Lizs door gently behind her and walked out to the living room with a goofy smile on her face. Tina looked up and saw the expression on Bettes face and laughed.

Whats so funny?

Nothing. Your daughter just asked me to explain how she got inside your tummy

WHAT?

Well she wanted to know why you were getting bigger so I told her it was because her little brother was inside of there. Then she wanted to know if she came from there tooand how she got in there

Oh.OH!

Tina started laughing as she looked at Bettes perplexed face. She gently caressed Bettes face with her hand.

So what did you say to that baby?

I told her wed talk about it laterlike when shes thirty

Tina laughed as Bette just kind of smiled and shook her head. Sometimes Liz could be so full of energy and insight and sometimes she would ask a million questions. Nevertheless Liz always had an innocent air about her and Bette knew that eventually Liz would probably figure things out on her own. After all she was a pretty smart girl and hopefully when that day came Bette was as far away as possible. Bette sighed and rubbed her head lightly. just thinkone more on the way she thought to herself as she relaxed into the couch with Tina leaning on her gently. The two of them must have fallen asleep like that and when they woke up the next morning they werent alone. Some time in the night Liz had crawled out from her bed and found her two mommies asleep on the couch so she crawled in with them and passed out. Bette looked down and smiled at how Liz was sleeping with her body leaning against Bette but one hand protectively over Tinas stomach. Bette looked at her family and felt a warm flood of happiness run through her. Yupcant waitone more on the way
