Bette was excited. Today Tina was going to call her for the first time in months. Tina had been gone almost 3 months and they had just sent emails so far. Tina had explained to Bette that she was only able to use the phone once in a while, and she wanted to save them to talk to Lauren. Bette said she understood this, and she loved getting Tina’s emails since they where so long. Bette had hoped that Tina would be able to leave the Navy after she returned from her trip. She hadnt mentioned this to Tina yet, but she was looking for bigger houses in LA that the three of them could live in. If Tina where to move in with her Bette just knew the rest of there lives would be happy.

“James I’m leaving. I have to get home to take a phone call.”

“Sure boss, see you tomorrow.” James her fateful assistant had manager to show Bette how to check her email from her phone so she would be able to go and re-read her emails anytime she wanted too. He had never seen Bette to excited and he figured this Tina may be the right one for Bette.

Bette arrived home with plenty of time to spare. Tina was going to call in 15 min and Bette wanted to get a bite to eat first. She layed out all the brochures from the real estate agent that showed her all the available houses in the area. She wanted to find a house with a pool since Lauren was use to having access to the ocean anytime she wanted to. There seemed to be a potential hopeful in N Hollywood. It was a 5 bedroom house that had large spacious rooms and a large den that Bette could use for her at home office. This house stood out more than the others, and she would mention it to Tina, and if she agreed to move to LA with her she would make a bid on the house tomorrow.

Tina limped back into her bunk to get her phonebook. She had slipped on the deck a few days ago, and her foot and ankle where now in a cast. All the years TIna had been on ships and she never had slipped or hurt herself before. She was beginning to think being in the Navy was taking its toll on her body. She was always tired when she was on leave, and since she was the one in charge most of the time she was always making decisions that left her brain hurting. She longed for some time off or better yet a perment vacation. She loved being in the navy and since she had advance so far she knew it was wrong just to up and leave, but if her heart wasnt in it anymore there had to be something else out there for her. She grabbed her phone book with Bette’s number, and left to go and call her. Hopefully Bette would say something incredible to cheer her up.

Bette’s phone rang and she raced to answer it.

“Hello this is Bette”

“Hi Bette it Tina.”

“Tina im so happy to hear from you. I’ve missed hearing your voice.”

“I know i’ve missed hearing yours as well. How is everything going.”

“Everthing is good now that im able to talk to you. Work has been busy and im getting ready for another opening in a few weeks. Its going to be huge.”

“Well Bette i’m sure your going to be the talk of the town.

They talked for about ten minutes, and when Bette mentioned the house and Tina moving to LA she was relieved to hear that Tina was thinking about leaving the Navy and starting over. She told Bette she hadnt made a decision and that she would keep Bette’s offer in mind. Lauren loved LA and she and Candace seemed to be having a really good time together. It would be nice if Lauren where able to see Candace on a weekly basis, and she was sure Candace would love it if they where to move close to her as well.

They said there goodbye’s after that, and both Bette and Tina felt like they where ready to take the next big step towards there relationship. Tina still hadnt told Bette that she had slept with Candace. It was as if she had forgotten it had happned. Candace never mentioned it in her emails to Tina and even seemed to hint around that she was dating someone else. Tina knew it was a mistake that they had slept together and she told her in an email that it woudnt happen again. They seemed to agree there relationship would have to remain as friends and Candace did seem to understand that Tina was involved with Bette. It was hard for her at first but it Tina was happy then so was she.

Bette was happy to hear from Tina and now that she knew Tina was intrested in moving to LA with her, she was going to call the real estate agent in the morning and take a tour then make her offer. This could be there dream house, and if Tina allow it it would be there home for the rest of there lives. She went to bed dreaming about how there life would be. Bette even saw a baby in her dream. She was smiling in her sleep, if Tina could only see her now.

Living in LA with Bette sounded so exciting and Tina knew that her heart had finally made a choice. She wanted to be with Bette. Tina decided she needed to come clean about sleeping with Candace. It was 3am before Tina picked up the phone to call Bette.

“Hello Bette Por…..

“Bette its Tina.” Tina didnt want to lose her nerve so she interupted Bette.

“Bette I have to tell you something. I should have told you a long time ago, and im sorry that i didnt.”

Bette was scared. She had no idea what Tina was about to tell her. Maybe she was calling to change her mind. To tell her she wasnt in love with her, and that it was all a mistake.

“Bette i slept with someone else. Im so sorry. I never ment for it to happen but it did. She just has this way of knowing my weakness and i fell for it. Please Bette can you forgive me.”

“Tina what are you talking about. What do you mean you slept with someone. It was recently on the ship?” Bette was extremly confused and to hear Tina tell her she was with someone else hurt.

“No Bette not on the ship. While you where in Hawaii. It was Candace. After you left that morning i spent the whole moring with her and Lauren. I dont know how it happned, but she was holding me, and we ended up in bed. Oh god Bette i wish it never would have happned. I told her about you, us wanting to be together. I sent her an email just now telling her i was going to move to LA to be with you.”

“Ok well this is a bit of a shock. So your telling me, this after 3 months because you feel guilty.”

“I want to be honest with you Bette. I love you, and i want us to work.”

Bette knew Tina was an upfront person. Having kept this a secret for so long must have been killing her. She wasnt mad, maybe she didnt even really care, but as long as Tina was commited to them being together that it all that Bette really cared about.

“Tina, i love you. Thank you for telling me. If you are willing to move to LA to be with me, then lets do it. I coudnt be happier knowing that you are coming here to be with me.”

“Thank you Bette.”

“Its late and you should get some sleep. Call me again when you have a chance ok.”

“Ok”

“Oh and Tina”

“Yeah”

“I love you”

“I love you too.”

That was all that it took. Tina finished her last 3 months went back to Hawaii packed up her house and shipped everything to LA. She borded up her house and said her goodbye’s. She had a lot of good memories and now she was going to make some new ones in LA.
