    Love me Tender – Ch36

One message Bette. Its Franklin, I have to go out of town for a few days but Im just letting you know that Baz Leers is here in LA. Weve talked him into considering the CAC for his first US exhibition. Hes truly cutting edge, mixes art and animation to create something unique so I know youll be excited. I hear hes a bit of difficult but I know you like a challenge! So kiss his butt so to speak.

Franklins comments jogged Bettes brain. ***** she said to herself thats what that little ***** was whistling I like big butts

Bette dialed Tinas number; she needed to hear her wifes calming voice.

    Hey said Tina.

Hey yourself, I missed you this morning Bette smiled wanting the warmth to be evident in her voice.

You looked so peaceful I couldnt wake you

I was dreaming of you, so why wouldnt I be?

Tina laughed. Bette knew that laugh, it was warm and open and friendly and ***** as *****. It made her wish she was with her.

Tina continued Did you just get to work?

Ummhmm said Bette her mind still on Tinas laugh and wanting to be with her.

    Anything new happening?

Well I just met Baz Leer said Bette hesitantly hoping Tina would tease out of her how annoyed she was with this man, make her feel better.

I think Ive heard his name somewhere. Whats he like?

Bette paused for a moment, head on the side thinking of the right words The words arrogant little ***** spring to mind

Tina laughed again the amusement clear in her voice Youll have to fill me in later. She paused and Bette could hear someones voice in the background Babe..I have to go. Do you want to say hello to Rosie?

Sureput her on she could hear the phone being moved Hey Rosie Posey its Mommie..I love you…be a good girl OK?

Hey Im back..I dont know what you said to her but shes smiling..look Ive gotta go OK..see you tonight..luv you

    Love you too babe

Bette put down the phone. She felt better now shed talked to Tina so she setup her laptop and googled Baz Leer. She was surprised how many hits were reported.

She picked one site that gave a potted history.

Baz Leer was born in Sydney Australia.

In his teens he dabbled with both art and film. He made his first short feature film at just sixteen and it was awarded the viewers choice award when it was shown at the Sydney film festival the following year.

Unsatisfied with the limitations of art and film he studied animation and has been instrumental in combining art, film and animation in ways which bridge the boundaries of each discipline.

Baz, while still largely unknown outside of Australia has had some recent success during a European exhibition.

With the proliferation of Australian actors and producers in Hollywood it is only a matter of time before this creative artist is picked up by one of the larger American or European galleries and catapulted to the worlds attention.

Baz is considered an eccentric in a world where eccentricity is often considered normal.

Hmmm said Bette to herself I think eccentric is just a polite was of saying arrogant and rude..

She considered what to do next. It seemed that if Baz was to go with the CAC it would be a coup. She liked to lead the way, shake things up a bit, maybe not as much as what Provocations did but still.

She thought about Baz, the man, not the artist. Shed met many artists over the years. Most were eccentric in some way but most just needed their egos stroking and Bette was very good at that if she set her mind to it. But this wasnt a person that she wanted to stroke the ego of. She thought his ego probably got enough stroking from his own inflated opinion of himself. So how should she handle him?

    1. Ozlfan… love the drama expected ahead with this Baz character… I see you’re warming up to stir up things a little bit cool… I though you closing the chapter with this question mark… So how should she handle him? Was super cool indeed I’m anxious to see how will Bette LOL… or should I say ozlfan handled and explore this interesting twist… you’re doing great keep it up.

      Thank you for this up-date!

    2. Hi all – thanks for your comments.. I just wanted to say that Bette likes a challenge …and while I too do not like Baz (and didn’t want to write about him) Bette wanted the chance to ‘handle’ him – in a non-sexual way of course!! – I figure Bette needs some pretty strong characters to be able to ‘strut her stuff’..

    3. Loving this story, Oz. Loved the interaction between Bette and Tina and Rosie when Bette was feeling stressed. This Baz character has my attention. For some reason, I’m picturing him as an evil Emmitt from QAF. *LOL* Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to read some updates. And again, god bless you for posting more than one chapter. We appreciate that more than you could ever know. :P 5 stars!!

    4. Tina and Rosie bring so much to Bette’s life! They provide a respite from encounters like the one she had with Baz.
I love any time that Tina and Rosie are making Bette happy.
I have the feeling Bette is gonna earn her salary with this one.
      Thanks.
