Journey of Love Ch.27
It was another perfect day in paradise as Bette and Tina awoke to start the activity packed day. Tina was running around gathering up the things they would need, talking excitedly to Bette as she finished up.
I cant wait babe! Ive never been in a helicopter before.
Neither have I T. You arent afraid to fly are you?
Oh noIm sure everything will go smoothly. Im just so excited to see an active volcano. Its not everyday that you get to see one of those you know.
Well we had better get going or we are going to be late. Are you ready to go?
Yup. Got everything that we need for the whole day.
I should hope solooks like you packed everything but the kitchen sink!
Bette and Tina gathered the backpacks and duffle bag that Tina had packed for their day. They loaded everything into the car, and drove a short distance over to the helipad and checked in for their helicopter tour. Despite Bettes worrying that they would be late, the duo arrived a few minutes early and after check in began to look around.
They surveyed their surroundings and were in awe of the vast expanse of lava-covered land that they saw. The black lava rock was in stark contrast to the lush greenery of the mountains, and accentuated the blue waters of the sea off in the distance. Miles upon miles of black volcanic rock could be seen, evidence of the lava flows that helped to form the Big Island. Being the youngest of all the Hawaiian Islands, time had not yet taken its toll on much of the Kona coast. But the dark black rock formations had a beauty all their own, and helped to add to the character of Hawaii and its wide range of environments. From the cold snow tops of Mauna Kea, to the lush rain forests of Hilo and the barren desert like stretches of lava in Kona, Bette and Tina had fallen in love with Hawaii, and couldnt wait for today and the rest of their Hawaiian getaway to come.
As they continued to chat and look around, a young local man in an Aloha shirt headed in their direction. He was well tanned and had a well toned body that complemented his features to the point that the women thought he must be some local model, but it turned out that the handsome fellow was their pilot.
Aloha! My name is Kimo, and I am honored to be the pilot of you two gorgeous women.
The pilot lifted one eyebrow and winked at them. He was obviously attracted to them, but then again who wouldnt be. Not one to take any chances, Bette being Bette wanted to make sure that Kimo understood that she and Tina were a couple and quickly wrapped her arm around Tins waist.
Nice to meet you Kimo. My WIFE and I are so excited to take this tour, we cant wait to see all the attractions that you will be showing us today.
Well you should be. Not everyday you get to see some of the things I will show you today. So if you and your WIFE are ready to go, we can get this little Hawaiian adventure on the road. My WIFE just loves this tour.
It was now Bettes turn to raise an eyebrow. She was so used to both men and women hitting on Tina, that she had just assumed that Kimo wanted a piece of Tina, and maybe both of them for tat matter. But she did not realize that in Hawaiithe Aloha spirit was one of warmth, caring and friendship.
Before heading to the helicopter, Kimo took the time to explain to them a little bit about the landscape that they were gazing at. He explained that the sharp lava rocks were known in Hawaii as aa, while the smooth rocks (or flows) were known as pahoehoe. He told them that these differences depended upon the type of lava flow that had occurred, the temperature the lava was flowing at and that sometimes these flows also created huge lava tubes, which are popular for tourists to walk into. They listened to this young man that had so much to offer, until he suggested that they get ready to take off soon.
They followed Kimo to the helicopter as he told them more about the craft that they would be flying in and informed them of all the safety features and technological advances that the bird housed. He helped both Bette and Tina into the helicopter and got them safely strapped in, before getting into the pilots seat and starting up the engines. Within minutes they were in the air, looking down on the land that they had just been standing on, noticing how small and insignificant everything looked from the sky.
Communicating via headsets, Kimo began to explain some of the history and folklore of the islands. Bette and Tina listened with great interest and asked questions both about the stories that Kimo was telling and about what they saw through the window of the helicopter. They watched in amazement as the landscape changed right before their very eyes, each change bringing with it a new set of stories and a new piece of beauty for them to gaze at.
Time flew quickly as the couple listened intently to every tale and every detail that their pilot had to offer. Soon they found themselves staring at the source of Hawaiis lava flow. Kimo explained that between 1983 and 1990 numerous volcanic eruptions occurred that invaded southern communities. These eruptions were the start of Hawaiis continuous lava flows, and since then the source of the molten liquid have shifted to a new vent, but remain continuous nonetheless. He explained that there were days that the lava did not actually flow, but smoke and steam are still seen on those days signaling that the volcano was still active. He also explained to Bette and Tina that according to Hawaiian legends, it was Madame Pele, the fire goddess, that was responsible for the spectacular fireworks display that they were witnessing today. Bette and Tina were in awe of the sight; ohs and ahs escaped their lips as they watched molten lava spew towards the sky, a powerful display of Mother Nature at work. The red, molten hot lava, shot into the air, creating a bright fountain of hot liquid against the blue Hawaiian sky. They could only imagine what this display would look like under the night sky, and began to chat excitedly to Kimo trying to learn everything that they could. They circled around the volcano, as Kimo continued to explain about the volcano and lava flows.
Before they knew it, their time in the skies was coming to an end, and Kimo had them heading back towards the helipad at Waikoloa. On the trip back, Tina leaned her head upon Bettes shoulder. Bette looked down at Tina and whispered I love you to her, as Tina whispered it back and kissed Bette softly on the lips. Kimo heard the exchange of love over the headset and smiled widely at the awesome display of love that he could see emanating between the women.
Love. Isnt it a magnificent thing?
Huh?
The love that you two share for each otherits beautiful. Ive seen many lovers in this industry, but none came close to the love that I see you sharing.
We dont know what to say.thank you.
May you always continue to love and cherish each other. Let no one tear you part, for soul mates like you are hard to find these days.
Bette and Tina couldnt help but smile at their young pilot and themselves. They could only hope that the love that they felt for each other, he also felt for his wife.
They soon touched down, and Kimo quickly exited the helicopter and helped the couple out. Walking them over to the office, they continued to talk about the days adventures, and what else might be in store for the lovers on their trip.
Kimo, Ive heard about somewhere called the painted church and we are planning to go there, but what do you know of it?
Oh, its beautiful. A definite must see for an art lover like yourself. The Catholic Church has been moved from where it originally stood in Kalapana to the town of Pahoa. The lava flow of 1990 went through the town of Kalapana destroying everything in its path, except for the church. Miraculously, the lava flow parted and went around the church and reconnected once it had passed, it was the only building spared during that time. But I suggest it you are going to drive that far to see the church, I mean it is almost a 2 hour drive, you should also go and see where the lava meets the sea.
Oh right, I remember you talking about that. The flow is forming a new island correct?
Yes thats right. You should try and see that flow right around dusk and stay until it is dark. Its spectacular! But make sure that you bring flashlights and are able to find your way back. Dont want you getting lost out there.
Thanks for the advice. And thank you for the wonderful tour.
Not a problem. And now I must bid you a fond Aloha. A ***** hou!
And with that Kimo was off. Bette and Tina went over to their car and headed off towards their next set of destinations. The drive seemed to pass by quickly as they talked about their helicopter adventure and all that they had gotten to see while up in the air.
Soon both their stomachs began to rumble with hunger, and they decided to stop off in Kona for lunch before continuing on with their journey. The relaxed and ate lunch, soaking up the sun and watching the surf. After finishing up, they decided to purchase a few snacks and drinks for them to take with them the rest of the day.
Back on the road and heading toward Pahoa they continued to talk, and laugh making the long drive pass quickly. They also continued to stop and take pictures at each lookout, wanting to document their trip for the years to come.
Upon finally reaching Pahoa, Bette found the church, pulled up in its parking lot and parked the car. She was talking excitedly about what they were about to view, and it was plainly evident to Tina just how much Bette wanted to see the art that this old Hawaiian church housed. It was now Bettes turn to get excited, a sparkle in her eye like a child in a candy store.
Getting out of the drivers side of the convertible, Bette bounded over to Tinas side, grabbed her hand to help her out of the car, excitement in every move as she tried to hurry them both into the church.
Slow down babe. The church isnt going anywhere.
I know but.oooohhhcome on, I want to see whats inside.
Baby I swear, sometimes you can be the biggest goofball in the world. But youre my goofball and I love you.
Awwww T. I wouldnt want to be anyone elses goofball but yours. I love you too.
They shared a sweet and love filled kiss before grabbing each others hands and making their way over to the entrance of the church. Bette released Tinas hand, and reached out for the handles of the door. She took a deep breath in anticipation of what she would see, and pulled the swinging doors open. Both she and Tina stepped inside on the church, and what they saw left them speechless.
The inside walls and ceiling of the church were painted beautifully with religious scenes and icons. The colors and the artistry blending together perfectly, each stroke, each color painted in harmony. Tears began to form in Bettes eyes as the powerful work of artistry overwhelmed her. Seeing the effect that the church had on Bette, Tina wrapped her arms around her wife and held her tight. A still speechless Bette could feel the arms of her lover wrap her in a warm embrace, and she reveled in the feelings of love that emanated from her wife.
Its beautiful isnt it babe?
All Bette could do was nod in agreement as she was still trying to get hold of the powerful emotions that were running through her body as she viewed Hawaiis equivalent of the Sistine chapel. After a few minutes, Bette regained her composure and she and Tina began to walk around the church to examine the artwork more closely. Bette began to talk about the colors and the strokes that the artist used, and using her expertise to explain to Tina more about each scene. Tina absolutely loved to watch Bette at work in her own element. She had always admired and loved Bettes presence when she was around art, and had always found Bettes talent and eye for art astonishing.
After milling around in the church for about an hour, Bette and Tina visited some shops that were scattered around the town, picking up postcards and souvenirs before heading out toward the area that they could watch the molten lava meet the cooling seas. They drove out to the area where the car could be parked and grabbed their backpacks from the trunk of the car. They double-checked the bags for bottles of water and flashlights before heading out. Hand in hand they made their way over the volcanic rocks, toward the huge plume of steam that rose skyward. The sun was entering its final decent of the afternoon, and the rays of the setting sun cast themselves upon Tinas golden hair. The illuminating effect took Bettes breath way, as she gazed upon the beauty of her queen. She couldnt help but reach out her free hand to touch Tinas silky smooth skin, causing Tina to turn and smile the smile that could disarm Bette each time.
They spoke no words on the rest of the hike, each lost in thought, each lost in each other. They continued on, following other lava watchers up ahead, and continuing to make their way towards the tower of steam that rose from the seas edge.
Upon reaching the flow, the stood with droves of tourists and locals alike, near the safety line that denoted the safe viewing distance for onlookers. They watched the swiftly moving lava make its way to the sea. With each passing minute, the dying light of the sun gave way to the darkening night sky, as the orange of the lava began to glow brighter in the dimming light.
Bette looked around the crowd and surveyed the layout of the land around them. She spied a rock formation that could keep anything or anything hidden from the view of others. A racy thought crossed her mind, but she tried her best to ignore it as she turned back to watch the moving orange liquid with her wife. The sun was now well below the horizon, and the last glimpses of orange could be seen just above the western horizon. Some of the crowd had started to disperse when Bette walked up behind Tina and wrapped her in her arms.
Baby, would you look at the lave flowits beautiful.
Bette raised her eyebrow, racy thoughts again filling her mind. She stepped around Tina and ran her hand down Tinas side and to her thigh. She leaned in and whispered in Tinas ear,
I can think of something else that I would like to see flow.
Bette then ran her hand up Tinas inner thigh and teased her mound, caressing it through Tinas shorts. As Tina felt her knees grow weak, Bette winked at her and started to walk away, letting her hands linger on Tinas body until she could reach Tina no more.
Tearing her gaze away from the lava flow, Tina stared at Bette intently, warmth and throbbing growing between her legs. She caught up to Bette and wrapped her arms around Bette, preventing her from walking any further.
And just where do you think youre going Porter?
Who little ole me?
You think you can just do that to me and walk away?
Do what?
Oh you know whatyou little devil.
Well if this little devil could tempt such a beautiful angel, then you had better follow me.
But Bette look at all these people!
Shhhhhhh.
Bette reached down for Tinas hand and led her to the rock formation that she had been eyeing earlier. Guided by the last of the glimpses of he days light, Bette pulled Tina behind the rocks and into an erotic and lust filled kiss. So much passion, so much lust and desire that each woman was beyond being breathless. Bette used one of her hands to grasp the back of Tinas head, as her free hand traveled south and unbuttoned Tinas shorts. She guided them carefully down to the ground, laying Tina down gently as she continued her exploration of Tinas sacred mound.
Tina was taken by surprise at Bettes animalistic actions, and reveled in the touch of her lovers. The passion that flowed from Bette caused Tina to see stars in her lovers eyes, as the stars themselves began to peek out through the night sky. The hissing of the steam as the lava met the ocean matched the hot wetness that had now begun to flow from Tinas hot core. Their labored breaths matched perfectly with one anothers as they both tried to suppress the moans that were threatening to escape. Bette took Tina quickly, her actions, her movements bringing Tina to an intense ***** that was powerful and quick. The euphoria felt by Tina heightened by the sound of crashing waves against the shore that seemed to mirror the pulses and after shocks that were now pounding against Tina being.
Upon feeling Tina contract, and her body stiffen, Bette collapsed on top of Tinas chest, listening to her uneven breathing. They lay quiet and still for a few moments, trying to recover from their risqu romp in public. Tina was worn out from the fast and intense experience that she had just felt by the hand of her lover, and laid there, looking up at the stars and thanking them for bringing such an incredible woman into her life.
Oh my gawd babe. That was incredible!
It was
I cant believe you just did that! The lava, the steam, the oceanyou! Gawd how I love you and the things you do to me.
Well I thought that after the shoreline action we had the other night, one good turn deserves another.
Truemmmmm I could stay here forever.
Okay, as much as I would like to stay here with you forever, I think we had better get going.
Tina was still very weak from the intensity of her experience, and needed help from Bette to stand and fix herself up. They got out their flashlights and made their way back toward their car, following the dim lights of the flashlights ahead and the path the created. It was totally dark now, except for the faint glow that cam from the lava flow that they were heading away from. The rest of the visitors had already left as Bette and Tina reached their car.
They made the long drive back toward Waikoloa with the top down in the convertible. The stars of the night filing the sky as the ocean scented air tousled their hair. Upon reaching the bungalow, they could not keep their hands off of each other and made love throughout most of the night before exhaustion finally set in and they drifted off to sleep. They still had one more day on the Big Island before they headed off to Maui, and they fell asleep with dreams of their adventures in their heads and love for each other in their hearts.
