Bette arrived at the event right on time. She told Alice and George that she would meet them outside, but they weren’t there yet. “I beat Alice here, wow” she thaught as she got out her cell phone. As soon as she went to dial she heard someone behind her call her name.

Helena: “Well, well, well. I didn’t know you were going to be here tonight, still trying to cling to what might have been Bette?”

Bette: “You know, i’ve grown extreemly tired of your bullshit Helena. Mine and Tina’s relationship is absolutly none of your business.”

Tina was standing just beyond the doors talking with some other guests and couldn’t see what was going on outside. Helena turned around directing her view towards her. Bette’s eyes followed.

Helena: “Children are such a gift, they complete your life. It’s such a shame you wont be able to experence that, at least with her.”

Bette: “Im so ***** serious Helena, back..off” she leaned in and said quietly but sternly.

George had just arrived and noticed the confrontation forming. Though she wanted to see Bette rip into Helena, she knew it had to stop. This night, after all was about Tina. She quickly made her way over to the two women and stood between them facing Bette.

George: “Come on, now isn’t the time for this.”

Helena: “Well look what the cat dragged in, where’s the other stooge?” she said with a condisending smirk

George rolled her eyes and turned around. As she turned she saw Alice walking up behind Helena and noded her head.

George: “Come on Bette, let’s go say hi to Tina”

Bette noded her head and glared at Helena. As Alice walked past Helena she said “Hey look, you dropped your pocket” as she pointed at the ground behind her. Helena turned and looked at the ground. Alice smirked and said “jackass” as she follwed them inside.

Tina: “Hey guys, your here”

Alice and George quicky said hi and proceded inside to let Bette and Tina talk.

Tina: “Im glad you came, this is so nerve racking.”

Bette: “You’ll do just fine. There is nothing to be nervous about.” she said giving her a reasuring simle.

Tina silmed and took a deep breath. Helena walked up and put her arm around Tina.

Helena: “Ready to go inside, its about to start”

Tina: “Oh yeah right, ok, let’s go” she said with her gaze still upon Bette. “You coming?”

Bette: “Yeah” she said walking in and joining Alice and George at their table. “That woman is repulsive” she said as she sat down.

The night went on smoothly. George was enjoying herself due to the non stop flow of champagne, Alice was too busy flirting with the waitress to really notice much of anything else. Bette had been watching Tina the whole time, cursing Helena everytime she touched her. The time came for Tina to get her award. Her name was called and she stood up. Helena took it as the perfect opertunity to push the dagger even further into Bette’s heart. She grabbed Tina and kissed her. Bette had, had enough, she got up.

George: “Where are you going?”

Bette: “Home” is all she said then walked away.

Tina pulled away from Helean and quicly searched the room for Bette, but there was no sign of her. She got up and accepted her award.

Bette drove around for a while and returned home around midnight. The house was dark and quiet. She changed into her pajama’s and insted of going to the couch she opted for the bed, she figured Tina would be staying with Helena tonight. The bed now had Tina’s scent all over it. Bette let a tear roll down the side of her face and onto her pillow then she rather quickly dozed off.

Tina walked into the house expecting to find Bette on the couch but it was empty. She took a deep breath and headed towards the bedroom. When she reached the doorway she saw Bette sleeping peacefully with her arm draped around Tina’s pillow. Tina took a step closer causing the floor to creek, this in turn caused Bette to wake up. She opened her eyes and rolled over. She saw Tina standing there and she sat up.

Bette: “Tina..” she said letting her eyes adjust “What are you doing?” she said looking up at her.

Tina looked at Bette with tears in her eyes.

Tina: “I don’t know” she replied as she walked over to Bette. She was now standing inches from her. Tina raised her left and and placed it on Bette’s cheek. She rubbed her thumb over Bette’s bottom lip and took a deep breath. She leaned in and slowly pressed her lips against Bette’s. She pulled back and started to let her tears flow freely. Bette stood up and put her arm around Tina.

Bette: “Come on T, you’ve had a long night” she said leading her to her side of the bed. She pulled back the covers and helped Tina in. “Goodnight” she said turing off the lamp. As she turned to walk out to the livingroom Tina stopped her.

Tina: “Bette?”

Bette: “Yeah” she said turning back around.

Tina: “Can you hold me tonight?”
