Tina: you 2 cycle too fast for mummy..(Tina managed to catch her breath as she tickled and kissed her daughters playfully).

Tina: come on lets gotime for a dip in the pool then some sleepweve had a big long journeymaybe we could go exploring later.. and then a movie tonight?

Emma & Lucy: ( loudly)..yes mum lets go now!!!!!!!!!

Tina and the girls cuddled and as Tina stood up and motioned for the girls to cycle home she stopped suddenly. She was aware that they were not alone. Her eyes lifted and she caught the stare of the 7 woman on the porch

Tina: ( a little flummoxed)..eh.hello.sorry did I disturb your morning read/coffee?

Bette couldnt speak. She just stared at the woman and children before her. Finally Alice took charge.

Alice: hello, Im Alice but you can call me AL. Alice stood up and walked towards Tina with an outstretched hand.

Tina; (that sounds like a cue for a song thought Tina) hi Im Tina. Tina Kennard. How do you do?

Alice: Im fine thanks. You guys, your accents are so cute..Scottish right?

Bette: .. my house.(Bette finally came to her senses and moved out towards Tina and her family.

Bette had the biggest diamond smile. Tina looked up and beamed an equally bright smile back to Bette. Alice was gently shoved to the side as Bette moved closer to Tina.

Bette: Its a pleasure to meet you finally Tina. Bette took Tinas hand in hers and noticed how soft and gentle it was.

Tina: ( smiling and noticing how soft, gentle and warm Bettes hand was), Pleased to meet you too. Thanks so much for everything you did for us last week. The colours you choose were perfect. Your just an expert. ( Blushing as she said this as she realizes all eyes were on her) Emma, Lucysay hello to Bette, our new neighbour.

Emma and Lucy: hi ya Bette. The girls were smiling as they looked up at Bette.

Bette: ( crouching down).. well hello to you. My you too are so pretty.(Bette wanted to add just like your mum, but due to the company she decided not too). So who is Emma and who is Lucy?

Emma: Im Emma and Im 8.

Bette: Eight!!!!!!!!!!! WOW they sure do feed you well in Glasgow you are so tall and pretty. Emma blushed and thanked Bette

Bette: So..you must be Lucy right?

Lucy: yes.Im 6 (said Lucy with a cute lisp).

Bette:..( how cute..) you look every bit like 6.

Lucy; I know(Lucy moved towards Bette and leaned against her leg)

Tina and the gang looked on at the display of affection between the 2. Tina felt a sense of relief in that she was beginning to realize that she had made the right choice moving to LA. At that point Bette and Tina made eye contact. They smiled at each other for a few moments until Tina nervously broke the gaze. The 2 women heard a cough from behind Bette.

Bette: ohTina..can I introduce you to my friend s and my sister?

Bette introduced the gang and they all commented on the Scots accents. Tina and the girls laughed and also commented on the gangs accents. They chatted idly about nothing until Emma and Lucy asked if they could go home to the pool.

Tina: oh sorry girls. Mummy is such a blether.Bette.everyone else..I had better go. It was lovely to meet you..(Tina turned to walk away. Alice nudged Bette and mouthed B B Q!)

Bette: Tina!

Tina: yes Bette..

Bette: I.eh..weeh..I . Thought that it might be nice to invite you over for a BBQ tonight..in your honouryou know a happy new home BBQit would save you cooking and .

Tina: ( she looked at her daughters and hesitated)

Bette:ohyes the girls too..

Emma and Lucy: oh please mum can weplease..a real BBQ where we dont have to wear our jumpers cause its too cold.please mum.

Tina: (looking from her daughters to Bette with a lovely smile)me thinks thats a yes..yes Bette we would love to come, thanks.

Bette( jumping up and down inside). Great. How about 6pm?

Tina: Brilliant.see you then, and thanks. Looks like I might be saying that a lot to you.( Tina blushed and this time Bette noticed it.)

Bette:(oh my god my knees are melting ), dont mention it. I am at your service.

At that Tina and the girls walked away. The gang stood and stared. Bettes eyes did an ordinance survey on Tinas body. Her hair was as golden as the bridge, her arse was tight and curvy, her legs long and lean in her shorts with her stomach taught and womanly in her crop top.

Alice: sleek and smooth Brave heart!!!!!!!!! (Alice gave Bette a slap on the *****)

Shane: she is one cool chick. Maybe I need a vacation to Bonnie Land.

Dana: aye me toooooo!!!!!!!!!

At that everyone laughed and headed inside. Bette told everyone that tonight had to be special and warned Alice to be on her best behaviour. Everyone else laughed at that as they knew that that would be impossible. The gang began to put operation BBQ into action.

A few hours later the gang went home to change and shower. Bette had a long bath and pondered over what to wear. She opted for some dark jeans and a tight black vest. The gang arrived back and Shane took over the BBQ whilst the others got some drinks ready. Kit had brought some kids juice and some sweets along with a DVD of Shrek. This will make the girls feel at home she thought. Bette kissed her sister and said thanks. Kit knew her sister and realized that tonight was important to her. She had never seen Bette behave like this before about a woman, especially a straight one. She thought about bringing up the subject but then thought better of it. Bette was a big girl and knew how to live her own life. Kit did wonder, however, how Bette might handle Tinas rejection and it caused her concern. However, for tonight those thoughts were on the back burner.

Bette was beside herself and the gang knew it.

Bette: I dont think she is coming. Maybe the girls wanted to go out after all.(Bette was so sad and it showed to all her friends..)

Marina: Maybe she is..

Bette sprinted to the door and almost wiped out Ivan. She opened the door to the most beautiful, ***** sight that she had ever seen
