And that is what Tina did. She cried and cried into the arms of someone she didnt know and someone who didnt judge her. Tina: the one at the end..i think.only been her 12 hours.(Tina forced a smile and Bette responded with one. God.I am so glad she is here but I feel so stupid and know that I wont be invited to anymore BBQs againTinas smile disappeared )

Bette: ok( feeling very nervous in Tinas bedroom due to the earlier conversation) Ill leave you for a few moments to get changed just shout and I will come back.

The 2 women laughed and shared a look at each other. Bette so much wanted to hold her and tell her how she felt, but that would not happen tonight. Bettes words washed over Tina. Bette decided to move her gently down onto the bed. She lifted her head to meet the pillow and gently moved the blanket over her. Bette decided to leave her dressed..Best not even go there she thought. Soon Tina was fast asleep.



1PM THE NEXT DAY

Tina woke up suddenly. She looked around the room and seemed a little confused. Then she remembered. Oh Im in LA. She looked at the clock. Shite she thought, how did I sleep so long. She moved quickly and sat up. As she did she realized that she was wearing the same clothes that she had on last night, all of them. Then it all came backthe BBQ.the booze..the talking about Eric..shes *****,.they all are.*****.. Tinas brain went into overdrive and she remembered almost legging it out of Bettes, then Bette coming with her, then the tears, oh god the tears.

Tina got up and walked quietly into the girls rooms. Still asleep,, relieved Tina headed out to the kitchen. Feck, I really need a shower, Tina pulled at her clothes and ruffled her hair. As she entered the kitchen she stopped and doubled back. She couldnt believe what she saw

Tina: Bette!

Bette was laying on the couch fast asleep. Tina moved over towards her hopping to pull up the blanket over her shoulder. I cant believe she stayed..on the couch too.Tina smiled from ear to ear, then she shook her head and told herself to stop smiling, as Bette was a womana woman Kennard..not big hairy and macho.but strong, lean and ..*****.***** Tina look at whats asleep on your couch.. Tina walked away from Bette and moved outside. The sun was strong and warm. God this is more like it..no more wind chill and brass balls coldness.. Tina dipped her foot into the pool. YesI have done the right thing.

Whilst Tina was in deepest Africa of thought land her daughters had ran into the livingroom to find and wake Ms Porter. Bette sat up and squinted at the 2 wee girls looking at her.

Bette: top of the morning girls..(hoping that they would not ask why she was on their couch)

Bette stood up and the girls held her hands. They looked around for Tina and Lucy shouted Shes outside The 3 girls walked outside but Lucy broke free of Bettes hand and jumped at her mum knocking her head over heals into the pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bette and Emma ran outside as Tina surfaced

Emma; mum, mum are you ok?

Bette: Tina..(she had no clue to smile or cringe)

Tina: (splutter, splutter.).

Lucy broke the ice. She laughed and jumped in beside her mum, followed by Emma. The 3 of them splashed and splashed.

Tina: hey you.want to join us or ya chicken?
