Can Love Conquer All? Chapter 3

After about 4 rings, right when Kit thought that maybe Alice wasnt home, the phone picked up. Alice was a little out of breath with she answered the phone. As she had to run down the hallway almost flying right over the sofa to reach the phone, Not caring who it was, but anyone to talk to, she was so freaked out and overwhelmed with the information she received from Tina the night before. When Alice came home finding Tina sitting on her sofa with a lost look in her eyes and finding out about Bettes affair. Alice being the friend that she is, just wanted to comfort Tina and knew that her friend was going through so much pain and anger, Tina needed her. So Alice was there for Tina to lean on in this time of need.

When Alices phone rang, Alice was lying on the bed next to Tina, watching her resting finally after such a awful night of endless crying. Alice was so captivated by Tinas innocence as she slept, that Alice got lost in thoughts of why Bette would do such a thing to a loving and caring person. As those thoughts were going off in her head, she didnt hear the phone ringing in the living room. By the end of third ring, Alice snapped out of it and sled off the bed slowly trying not to wake Tina, but once off the bed completely, Alice sprinted down the hallway to catch the call.

Alice: In heavy breaths Hello?

Kit: sounding kind of puzzled from the sound of Alices voice. Hey Alice? You ok girl?

Alice: Yeah Kit Im fine I just had to run 40 mph to get to the phone on time before you hung up.

Kit: Alice.. Ummm have you seen Tina?. Something has happened and I really need to..

Before Kit could finish her sentence..

Alice: Yeah she is here.. Did you hear what happened between her and Bette? She’s safe. She was here last night when I came home She is in real bad shape Kit! crying all night and about a hour ago I just got her to rest. Shes sleeping right now.. But what are we going to do? How could Bette do something like that? Alice was so hyped up that she didnt give Kit a chance to say anything.

Kit: Alice?. Alice.. Hunny please calm down. I know this is some crazy stuff to comprehend I just came by their place. Heard some crying.. Let myself in and found Bette broke down on the bathroom floor She told me what happened and I was worried about Tina.. So thought I call you, Shane or Dana. Thank god I called you firstI wouldnt want to get them all riled up.

Alice: Yeah I know what you mean well she is ok for now how about Bette?.. I know she is not handling this good at all.. Do you know what she is going to do to try to make this right Kit?

Kit: Well she was pretty bad when I walked in on her but she has settled down a little bit she went into the bed room.. She needs some rest.. But she knows that she fucked up bad Alice..All she told me was that she wants Tina, she needs her or she dont know what shell do.. Alice we both know that these two belong together they make each other whole

Alice: You know that the one she cheated with is that chick Can..

Kit: Candace.. Yeah Bette told me She told me that she doesn’t want her.. But if I see that ***** I will give her a piece of my mind thats for sure. Breaking up my family.. *****.. I tell you.Bette dont know why she even got all tangled up with her all the stuff that was going on just made her well anyway..Alice do you think that Tina will want to see or even talk to Bette again?

Alice: I dont know Kit, she’s really upset.. But you know I will do anything to help what you want me to do? They have to get back together. Whats the plan?

Kit: Well its going to be hard.first I think a talk over the phone is best.. We dont want things to get out of control like they did last night as Bette told me.

Being that Tina didnt tell Alice about her slapping Bette and the whole angry ***** scene.. Since Tina thought that was no ones business. Alice was kind of curious to what Kit had said about things getting out of hand.

Alice: What you mean Kit.. Out of control? Is Bette alright?.

Kit: Well I guess things got a little physical here before Tina left and she slapped Bette in the face.. Its just a bruise but she is fine. Anyway a call is best.. I will try to get Bette to call Tina. Will you both be there at your place most of the day?

Alice: Yeah well I dont know how long she is going to sleep, she was exhausted , but yeah she probably wont want to go anywhere. But if we arent here most likely we will be at the planet then just call me on my cell.

Kit: Alright dont tell Tina that I called or that anyone knows about this. I hope that I can get this girl to call. You know how stubborn she is.. Well try to keep this between us.. If they want anyone else to know.. Let them tell themselves okay Alice?

Alice: of course.. I got it lets get this plan on the road..

Kit: Alright then talk to you later girl.. Bye

Alice: Bye Kit

When Alice got off the phone she walked toward the bedroom and peeked inside, to see Tina still sleeping. It wasnt a restful sleep. She was tossing and turning and seemed as to be dreaming, whispering Bettes name every once in a while. Alice just let out a long sigh, thinking to herself. I sure hope that they can get through this.. They have too She still loves her it surrounds her. Alice then walked to the kitchen to start makeing something to eat for Tina when she woke. Plus a pot of coffee.. It wasnt the planets but it was good enough.

Once Kit hung up the phone. She looked around the room, once this house was filled with so much love and joy. But now it just seemed so empty and lonesome. It just wasnt the same and Kit felt that. She walked to the kitchen and made Bette a cup of tea, something, anything to make Bette feel a little comfort. After that Kit walked with tea cup in hand to the bedroom that once was shared by her baby sister and her loving wife. Kit walked in and seen Bette on Tinas side of the bed, curled up in a fetal position with her back to the door. She thought that finally, Bette was getting some rest. But as she walked to the other side of the bed to leave the cup of hot tea next to Bette on the night stand, she noticed that Bette wasnt sleeping but instead staring out the window and whispering to herself. God Please. I need her I love her with everything that I am Please forgive me for my sins and I prey that she can forgive me for them.. I would give my soul to take away the hurt that I cause in her heart.Please Bette was so into what she was saying that she didnt notice that Kit had even entered the room, nor the fact that she was standing over her. Bette just closed her eyes and tears fell down her cheeks in to Tinas pillow. Kit walked over and set the cup down on the night stand, then covered Bette with the sheet that was on the other side of the bed. Bending down to Bette;s ear to tell her something.

Kit: Whispering into Bettes ear. Bette We are going to get you and Tina through this.. She still loves you god knows that.. Just get some rest ok baby

Just then Kit was going to go to the living room to think things through.. But was interrupted when she heard Bette softly say something.

Bette: Kit?

Kit: yeah

Bette: Thank you for being here for me will. Will you stay here with me I dont want to be alone.

Kit walked slowly to the bed and lied down next to Bette and ran her fingers through Bettes hair while saying comforting things to her baby sister till Bette finally drifted off to sleep.
